Broken.

It was a simple message, penned and to the point on the card in his hand. He couldn't have been more relieved. He had spent nearly eleven years too long waiting for his Emma to do what she was meant too. The whole time he craved what he had been so reluctant to give up... his chance at true love and anything that came and went with it. He wanted what had been lost back then, returned.

Now that the curse was broken he could find her again. She, the one who held his heart so close to her own... even without knowing it. He only hoped that she'd give him a chance to explain.

A soft coo caught his attention and tugged him away from his thoughts. His eyes found the dove still present and perched on his windowsill as if it was waiting itself for something. He looked down at the postcard still in his hand in realization. He made a quick and effortless, split-decision call. He grabbed something to write with from his coffee table and penned a response of his own beneath the one he had received.

Dream a little dream and you'll have me.

He held the card out to the dove and softly spoke his request. " Emma Swan."

He watched the dove until it became a mere speck in the sky, blending in with the rest of surrounding Manhattan. He couldn't wait for the day she dreamed of him, her heart calling out. He only hoped that after eleven years she still remembered those words.

Because they meant he'd come running.
