The moment the sun rays seeped through the small cracks of the blinds, his eyes snapped open. The ruby red orbs would gaze around the room, as if checking for an unwelcomed guest to be lurking about. This was a daily occurrence no matter how late he went to sleep, Gajeel Redfox woke up at the crack of dawn. Maybe it was from all the missions and journey's, or if it was just hid body clock-he never really put too much thought into it.

Recently, there was a new addition to the pattern, that in the form of his lover, Levy McGarden. Now, the iron dragon knew he didn't deserve her, but she loved him and who was he to deny her? She was an angel to him, though not the purest angel as the script mage did have her mischievous side. But Gajeel loved every part of her, from loving lover to determined fighter, there was not a side of Levy that he didn't see that the man did not fall for.

Every morning, he would gaze at her sleeping form in his arms. No, it wasn't always the romantic cuddling, because Kurogane Gajeel didn't cuddle, the shrimp cuddled to him, she would always end up in his arms. Sometimes she'd be drooling, not the most attractive, but Gajeel thought it was just like her and admittedly thinks it's cute, other times she'd be mumbling away about names he'd never even heard before. Though, the man wasn't dumb and figured it were characters of her latest book.

His favorite, however, is when she had a small smile on her face. She looked very peaceful almost like a baby, and he always wondered what she'd be dreaming about.

Today was one of those days.

His red eyes just looked at the small woman; the small tranquil smile on her face was one of that with no worries. The iron mage was a bit jealous, however, that one could look to peaceful sleeping. He figured that he'd never look that peaceful or adorable.

His sharp ears could hear her soft heartbeat in her chest, and his skin got goose bumps with ever exhale of breath that left her lips and nose. If there was a heaven on earth, Gajeel would be it would be here. Right her on these calm mornings watching Levy sleep as if she had no worries or cares in the world. The burden of being a double agent was one she didn't have to carry. She didn't have to hold the regret of nailing three people to a tree.

A low growl left his lips as he gently as to not wake her up, because if he did-he'd have hell to pay, got out of the bed. His feet made contact with the cold ground and the man sighed a bit, he had work to do and it didn't involve him starring at Levy as she slept. Sluggishly, he moved out of their room and made his way to the kitchen to start the coffee machine. The bubbling noise of the machine echoed throughout the otherwise quiet flat.

Because of the loud coffee machine, the iron dragon missed the the audible voice of Levy saying very softly, "Gajeel…."
