[A/N: Hello everyone, I'm back after a beloved hiatus from digimon. Lately, I've been watching the latest tri. movies so it's getting me inspired to write again. Although I'm no longer in 8th grade, I suppose I'll be returning to this story. From now on though, there's not alot of heavy romance involved going forward. I was a kid back then, so things were really cringey at times. Anyways, I'll be working on the rest of this story myself now. Perhaps I'll even make this a crossover arc with the original tri. kids too! We'll see, I know it's been a long time coming, and I hope you all enjoy.

A quick catchup on the story: The story begins with Burningreymon coming out of a portal after being chased by who-knows-what. After being injured, he lands in modern day Tokyo. Takato, now 22, has spent time in the working world defending the world from any invasion from the Digital World. Jenrya and Ruki are in different parts of the world defending it from all threats of an incoming invasion, and the group's pretty much been disbanded and haven't seen each other in years. After Takuya de-digivolved from his wounds, he rested up in Takuya's home as the two conversed a little before reports of a digimon came by. Sabermon (self-creation, virus type digimon, saber tooth tiger) was last caught wrecking havoc in tokyo bay while our heroes Dukemon and Burningreymon stopped him after Takato saw Takuya getting injured during the battle, he lashes out and transforms to ChaosDukemon. Saves Takuya, and the two go home to rest up. This is the story going forward...]

. . . .

Takato woke up to the sound of a beep, the auburn haired boy glanced at his alarm clock. Visions of nightmares of that horrendous day he transformed to ChaosDukemon flashed in his mind as he desperately tried to push off any ill feelings in his chest. Guilmon's ears twitched as he looks at his partner waking up to the sound of beeping. Takato paused, wiping his eyes as his hand went forth to turn off the alarm clock.

While Takuya was busy sleeping in the guest bedroom, he realized he needed help- he needed to call his allies.

But it's been so long, memories fade after all. Friendships fall apart and the bonds between our friends were no longer as strong as they were. Would they even-? No. No, they must. The return of virus type digimons after all these years must mean something..

The brown-haired boy reached for his touch phone, hands tapping across the screen as he scrolls through his contacts. The first person he contacts has to be her.

The self-proclaimed Queen of the Digimon, Rika Nonaka.

What happened after all these years? Well, not long after the Digital Organization managed to find a way for partners of the Digital world to reunite with their owners after many years of research, Rika returned immediately. She couldn't hold in her sadness a single bit, after all, it was Renamon that taught her the importance of caring for her fellow friends. Being the lone wolf she is, she'd only get herself murdered if she go back to her selfish ways. As soon as she laid eyes on Renamon, however, she was struck with depression. Renamon was one of the Digimons that got her entire memory wiped as a result of the reset of the Digital World at the end of the original Digimon Tamers series. While Ruki herself carried memories of every single adventure they gone through, Renamon was at a loss for words. Cold and callous as if they never met; it took time for Renamon to adjust to Rika's warmth. Eventually they settled in Europe, for Rika's dreams of being treated like royalty. They worked endlessly to capture any intrusions from the digital world.

Takato hesitated, would she even come back to Japan? They haven't spoken in years, so it'll be awkward. Especially after that incident.. (A/N: I'll reveal that incident later.)

He pinged her anyway, the phone ringed.

And ringed.

He waited for what felt like an hour before finally hearing a calm voice speaking through the phone,

"Hello?"

"Hello! Rika? Is this you? It's Takato, do you remember me? It's been a while."

A pause. He was sure she was contemplating to hang up on him in that second.

So he pressed forward- immediately spilling the truth. "Look, I'm not calling to try and make up for what happened, I know this is terrible of me but- you're needed in Japan again. We've spotted a virus type the other day and-"

"Hush up, I already know." Her voice calm as ever, speaking through the phone in such a quiet voice, she continued, "It's all over the news, I'm already on the flight back to Tokyo."

Great, so you're back. You're really coming back-

Takato's tone immediately shifted, you could tell he was excited for the possibility of a reunion, "Great! Great.. that's so great, thank you so much, I needed your help after all these years I-!"

The phone went mute, Rika had already hung up. Takato looked at his phone and breathed a sigh of relief. It seems as if the group was really getting back together after all these years. He scrolled down further into his contacts, as his eyes hovered over the next name he was going to call.
