"Never never?" Jaime asked his date for probably the third time, causing Tye to almost growl from the other side of the booth they were holed up in. He was pretty sure he and Asami were never been that bad.
Cassie giggled, pushing her date's perplexed face away yet again, "I told you! Never! I've just never got an opportunity to try them."
His best friend sighed, massaging his temples as he sneaked a tired look towards Tye's direction, "This ever happen to you, hermano?"
Oh god, was he really going the 'ask-the-other-couple-for-a-cutesy-story' route? Fuckin'…he knew what Tye and Asami's relationship was like. He practically visited them every damn day.
"Asami is from Japan, genius," Tye rolled his eyes, looking over his girlfriend to gauge her reaction. Sure enough, she was snickering behind an open palm. Well, at least she was enjoying this debacle of a double date, "And I'm from the Apache - let that spin around in that pretty little head for awhile."
"Oh, ha ha," Jaime deadpanned, pushing his lips into a pout, "Just trying to start a conversation with the moody couple who agreed to go out with us. Didn't think I'd get my head bitten off."
"Moody?" Asami's laughter paused and she turned her attention to Jaime, "Not moody. I am…have fun."
"Having fun, babe," Tye corrected his girlfriend, "You gotta put add an ing after the to be verbs."
"Oh…right!" Asami snapped her fingers and grinned as she recalled the lesson, not embarrassed in the least. But then again, there were very few things Asami could be embarrassed over, "I am having fun, Jaime. You are silly with Cassie. I like."
"Well, uh, thanks," Jaime said. Now it was Cassie's turn to snicker, her bright blue eyes taking in the dynamic between the others. Tye suppressed a smile; he decided he liked her. Even if she did play along with Jaime's obnoxious flirting.
The laughter turned Jaime's attention back to his date, "What are you laughing, Miss I've-never-had-an-enchilada-before."
"Ugh, get over it, Blue," Cassie replied, "I bet there's a ton of Greek food you've never tried! Like gyros - mmmm, I could really go for one of those right now, actually."
"Oh, so Mexican cuisine isn't good enough for you?" Jaime teased, though a flash of worry darted across his eyes.
"Nothing's good enough for an Amazonian," Cassie shot her nose into the air, hands on her hips in pseudo-aristocratic fashion, "Didn't you know that?"
"Oooo, I like her," Asami smiled at the blonde, "Please keep her, Jaime. Need more girl friends."
"You and me both," Jaime chuckled and his gaze softened as he caught Cassie's eye once again, "That is…if you want to be."
"It's been two months right?" Cassie shrugged, "Might as well make it official."
"But only if you try the enchiladas here," Jaime leaned in closer, his fingers intertwining with the stray hairs tumbling over her shoulders, "They're delicious."
"And only if you come over for gyros," was her breathy reply, lips puckered for the inevitable -
"Oh my god, we are still here," Tye slapped his forehead, a weary sigh escaping him, "I know you're Mexican, Jaime, but do you really got to play up the PDA thing?"
"….That's a bit racist," Jaime said after a moment or two, his cheeks flushed from the interruption.
"I'm Apache, I can't be racist," Tye waved off the accusation and Asami burst into another fit of giggles, whispering something in Japanese as their orders finally arrived.
