I don't own these lovely ladies, but I do love to play with them!

A harried Jane goes to the back of the cab to get their luggage out. "Why did you have to check a bag, Maura? Now we have to go through check in."

Maura knows that Jane does not love flying as much as she does, so calmly replies, "Now, Jane, the airline website was down last night, so we would still have to check in today. As for my checked bag, I would rather check my clothes and carry our presentation materials in the cabin with me."

The ladies are heading back to Boston after presenting at a seminar in Las Vegas where they were asked to be presenters on the case they closed last year that made national news. They walk through the doors of the departure wing of McCarran International Airport to encounter throngs of people. Jane stops dead in her tracks. "What is going on in here."

Maura is looking at the blinking cities on the rows of monitors showing arrivals and departures. Many of the flights with destinations in New England were showing DELAYED or CANCELLED. She felt a sinking sensation in her stomach, not because of the possibility of a flight delay. No, she was a seasoned traveler and could usually handle the challenges presented by disruptions in schedules. Maura was worried about how Jane would handle it. She hopes that their flight will be able to get out. She glances over at Jane and sees that Jane has noticed the monitors.

Jane taps a man standing nearby. "Hey, you know what's going on?"

The man looks over at Jane. "There's a blizzard going on back East. It's on all the news. All the airports are shutting down."

"What? What!?" Jane pulls out her phone to look at her mail and messages. "Shit! My phone was on silent!" She runs her hand through her curls as she scrolls through notifications of severe weather, texts and pics from Frankie and Ma about the snow. She goes to her favorites and presses Frankie's name. The phone begins to ring. Jane sees their flight number is still listed as on time and grabs Maura's hand.

"C'mon, let's see if we can check in." The ladies find the line for their flight 0212 just as Frankie picks up. "Frankie! What's going on with the weather?"

"Janie! Where are you? It's started snowing about 2 hours ago and we already have like 3-4 inches. They are calling the storm Snowmageddon!"

"Shit. We're just got to the airport in Vegas, in line to check in. Is Logan still open?"

"I dunno. The television station is having live coverage and everything is being cancelled in the city. I'll text you if I see anything."

The line moves slowly, then basically stops just as Jane and Maura are next. What looks like a manager gathers the ticket agents for a brief talk and the signs over the counter change to "rebooking". A mass of groans is heard in the line. An announcement is made, "Due to severe weather conditions, Logan Airport will be closing at 3:00. We will be rebooking Flight 0212."

Jane looks at Maura. "Won't we be ok? I know it's a 5 hour flight, and we're leaving at 8:59, we should get in at 2:00."

"5:00, Jane. Don't forget the time change."

Jane slaps her forehead with her hand in frustration. "Duh. Seriously." They walk up to the ticket agent and Jane lays her ticket and police badge on the counter. "Is there any way you can get us into Boston before it closes?"

The ticket agent sighs, knowing that today is going to turn into a looong day. He takes their tickets, but gently pushes her badge back to her. "Ma'am, I am very sorry to say that all flights from all airlines with destinations in Boston, New York, Hartford and Newark are being cancelled due to a blizzard that is currently hitting New England. We hope they will reopen within 24-36 hours, depending on the speed of the storm."

"24-36 hours? What are we supposed to do during that time?"

"We are offering vouchers for you to stay at a hotel near the airport and provide meals for you."

"Hotel near the airport? What, like, some fleabag motel?"

Maura puts her hand on Jane's arm, trying to calm her. "Jane, why don't we just go back to the Venetian? We can get all the information we can from this kind gentleman and reschedule from the comfort of our rooms."

The agent smiles gratefully at Maura's kindness and starts getting paperwork together for the ladies. Jane shoots him another dirty look at him for being the bearer of bad news. Jane grumbles, "Fine." She leans closer to Maura's ear, "Since when did I become a 'Ma'am? I used to be a 'Miss'."

The agent is busy clicking keyboard keys and looking at his screen. Papers print out and he places them before Maura and starts to highlight lines. "Here you go, Miss." Jane raises an eyebrow as she looks at Maura. Maura gives a delicate shrug. "Here's the webpage to stay updated on the status of Logan, here is the number to call as soon as you see it is open to rebook and here is your re-booking number to enter." He turns to Jane, "Ma'am, here is your ticket. Keep it with you and you can follow the same instructions. Thank you, ladies and good luck." Jane gives him her most gracious, sarcastic smile as she flips her hair and stomps away.

In the taxi, both women are busy on their phones. "Ok, I let Cavanaugh know that we will be back as soon as the airports open. He says don't hold our breath. He says it's so bad out there, there are no crimes being reported!"

Maura looks up from her phone. "Frankie has brought Jo to the my house. Your mother is going to stay in the main house in case the power goes out and to care for the animals. I have a generator, so she will be fine."

Jane sighs. "I really wish we were home to help them out." She runs fingers through her hair as she looks out the window. "I feel guilty going back to our rooms here while they are dealing with a blizzard."

The taxi driver interrupts the conversation, "I hope you ladies have reservations. This is peak convention week and there are no rooms at the inn, if ya know what I'm saying."

Jane groans. "Are you serious?"

Maura pats Jane's leg. "I'm sure we can find a room some place, Jane."

"As long as there are two beds."

Maura looks confused. "You have slept in my bed before Jane, I don't see any problem if we have a room with a only one bed."

"Maura! Shhhh!" She jerks her head with a panicked face toward the driver.

The driver pulls to a stop in front of the Venetian, "Eh, it don't matter. As the saying goes ladies, 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.' "

Jane is getting the luggage from the drunk. "Nothing is going to happen in Vegas, buddy."

Maura starts to pull her luggage toward the door, "Well, actually Jane, there is much entertainment always happening in Las Vegas and we could try to take advantage while we are here tonight." Jane opens her mouth to correct Maura, but only shakes her head and follows Maura through the door. Her heart sinks as she gets a feeling of deja vu when she sees the number of people at the desk. She puts on her best smile when makes it to the desk.

"HI there. Remember us? Detective Rizzoli and Dr. Isles? We just checked out of here a couple of hours ago, do you happen to have our rooms to rent?" The clerks fingers are flying over the keyboard. "I am sorry, Detective Rizzoli, all of our rooms are currently booked, I am trying to find you a room in any of the better known hotels." Jane lowers her head in defeat. It's just going to be one of those days.

Maura moves up to the desk. "What of the Penthouse, is if free?"

Jane's eyes widen. "Maura, what are you doing? That must be crazy expensive."

"And that is why I'm hoping it might be free."

The clerk looks up from his screen. "I'm sorry, Dr. Isles. The Penthouse is being rented out for the month."

Jane's mouth drops open. "The whole month? Who can afford that?"

The clerk raises an eyebrow. "Someone who wishes to remain private." The clerk pauses as another clerk come over and whispers in his ear. "Well, Dr. Isles, it seems a room has just opened. A couple coming here for their honeymoon from Boston just cancelled, you can have their room. Are you familiar with our Renaissance Suite with Media Room?"

"Yes, I am. It's a beautiful suite and we'll take it." Maura pulls out her credit card.

"How many beds?" Jane asks.

"Only one, Detective."

Jane looks at Maura, "Want to try someplace else?" Maura gives Jane an unfathomable look.

An impatient man behind her wants his turn. "C'mon lady, we want to check in, take the damn room. What happens in Vegas, stays the fuck in Vegas."

"Seriously, buddy?" Jane looks like she wants to punch the guy, but Maura has paid for the room and gently takes Jane's arm to lead her away. A valet comes over to take their bags. Jane opens her mouth to stop him, but Maura squeezes her arm and shakes her head. "Let him do his job, Jane."

The valet opens the door to the suite to allow the ladies in. Jane tips him to get him out as soon as possible. As Jane wanders through the rooms, she finds the bedroom. Whew, at least it's a King size bed. If I sleep on the edge of the bed on my side, I should be OK. The past few days being with Maura 24/7 have been killing me! I don't want to do anything stupid and ruin the friendship that we have. Jane continues through the rest of the rooms and

her jaw drops. "Wow! Look at this place! It's bigger than a lot of people's houses!" Jane discovers the media room. "Maura, come look at the television!" Jane finds a news channel that is giving updates on the blizzard hitting Boston.

Maura checks on Jane to see that she is totally engrossed in the very large screen television. Maura walks into the bedroom and sees the bed. Well, at least we have only one bed, maybe I'll have better luck in seducing Jane if we are in the same bed. Maura goes back to settle on the couch next to Jane for a while to watch the news reports, making sure she sat closer to Jane than was necessary. After an hour, Maura pats Jane's leg. "Come on, Jane. Let's get out of the room for a while and investigate."

"But, Maura, I want to keep up with what's happening at home."

"Jane, you know there is nothing we can do from here. Anybody can reach our cell phones to keep us updated. We can come back and eat in the room if you would like to watch more of the news. Later."

Begrudgingly, Jane shuts off the television to go sightseeing with Maura. The ladies spend the afternoon exploring the Strip. Jane wants to stop at a firing range, but Maura's raised eyebrow keeps her walking. Maura sees an advertisement for the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio. She laces her fingers in Jane's hand to lead her to the Bellagio. Jane looks down at their laced fingers and follows along like a little puppy dog. The Botanical Gardens are not quite what Maura expects, but still a pleasant diversion. The walk back to the Venetian consists of walking through some of the other famous casinos, gawking at the splendor displayed.

"Jane, do you want to try to attend a show after dinner?"

"Depends. Which one do you have in mind?"

"Why don't we see what the options are while we wait for dinner?"

The ladies are walking past the casino area of the Venetian when Maura stops. She reaches in her bag to pull out 2 $50 vouchers for the casino. "Let's not forget these, Jane."

Jane shrugs. "You know I'm not much of a gambler and when I do, I lose!"

"I am not suggesting that we use our own money, Jane, but since we have vouchers, I say let's use them."

Jane rolls her eyes, "OK, let's do this." The ladies wander around for a little while until Maura finds a pretty $10 slot machines decorated with a white tiger and diamonds. She presses the button 5 times and the voucher cash is gone.

"See, Maura, it's rigged!" Jane is frowning.

Maura is unfazed. "Of course the odds are going to favor the casino, Jane. I'm not disappointed. Let's find a game for you. Slots? Roulette? Blackjack?" They turn a corner and see a pink jeep set on high angled display, surrounded by slot machines. Jane stops and sees that the slot machines are marked as $50.

"Here we go. Let's get this over with one push of the button." Jane puts in the voucher, hits the button and turns to walk away. Maura stands and watches as one jeep, two jeeps and the final jeep lines up in the window. She turns to call Jane back when bells start ringing and lights start flashing. Jane spins around in shock.

Maura is standing in front of her clapping. "You won, Jane!"

"I won?"

"Yes, you won!"

Jane grabs Maura to pull her in to kiss. As their lips touch, more bells ring and lights flash in Jane's kiss changes and becomes softer, bodies press together. Jane jumps back. "Maura, I am so sorry!"

Maura grabs her hand. "I'm not. Do you know how long I've been waiting for that, Jane? I had a plan of seduction for tonight." Maura gives Jane a slow, sexy smile. "You know Jane, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

A very relieved Jane smiles back. "I sure hope not. I hope it can continue in Boston!"
