Link was busy filling the bottles with water from the lake. He was suddenly tackled and hugged tightly.

"We have another lead!" Zelda sang while the poor guy tried to get an idea of what just happened.

"Wh-what? Where?"

"It's in the sky! He must be running out of options to go that close to where we live!" Link couldn't help but smile.

"Then come on! Let's go get her!" Zelda went to stand only to be stopped. "Wait. How did you get this lead?"

"Oh. Well, Jackamar was flying around and found a castle on an island hidden by magic. He told dad and just came down to tell me. I don't know how long Ghirahim will stay there though."

"Then we need to leave immediately. Let's go." Link pulled Zelda up and the two ran to a bird statue where they were lifted into the sky rather gloriously. They both called their loftwings and soon were on their way to get their daughter back.

"Wanna play hide and seek?" Skylar asked.

"No. Go back to the corner."

"It's boring there!"

"Don't care." Ghirahim growled.

"Wanna tell me a story?"

"Why on Earth would I do that?"

"My daddy always tells me stories about you."

"Oh really now?"

"Yeah! I wanna hear some stories from you!"

"A story, from me?" Ghirahim questioned. He thought about it and smiled evily. Oh, this could play out just nicely.

"Please?" Skylar begged.

"Alright fine. I will tell you a nice story. One about me. It started many years ago..."

The temple smelled of dust and debris. Ghirahim stood at the entrance trying to think. The Spirit Maiden had been here and obviously she had been accompanied. It was a rustle that had Ghirahim casting a gaze to the distance. A boy in green-

"My daddy!"

"Yes child, now stop interrupting. It is very rude."

"Oh... sorry..."

"Now. Where was I... oh yes..."

"What an interesting skychild." Ghirahim hummed to himself. "You have traveled far from home haven't you?"

"Who's there?" Link called out.

"It is I! Ghirahim! I just want to know what you are doing- AUGH!" Link suddenly punched the demon square in the face.

"Shut up you ugly monster I'm here to kill you!"

"But why? I... I have not done anything to-"

"My daddy tells this story different. He said that you took mommy away and that he needed to rescue her."

"No. He is lying."

"But... daddy never lies..."

"Listen to my story and you'll understand. So..."

"But why? I... I have not done anything to you. I am simply trying to resurrect Demise, my master. The goddess took him from me and I miss him a lot... he raised me-"

"So Demise is your daddy?" Skylar interrupted again.

"No. He found me as a child and trained me with magic. Now, I owe him my all."

"Why?"

"He saved me from dying, it's the least I could do."

"My daddy had told me mommy had defeated a monster named Demise... that monster was your master?" Skylar asked sheepishly.

"Yes. She took my family away and I just wanted to get him back... I'm all alone, I don't even have a friend of my own..."

"I'll be your friend!" Skylar smiled without hesitation.

"That would be nice." Ghirahim smiled holding his hand out for her. Skylar took his hand. Her little fingers wrapped around his long ones.

"I wanna be nice to you. Maybe I can tell mommy to bring your master back!"

"I don't think that would help. She doesn't like me just like your daddy doesn't..."

"I'll talk to them for you okay? I wanna be your friend!" Skylar smiled brightly.

"Thank you, child."

There was a loud bang. Ghirahim growled lowly trying to refrain from cursing, he wanted Skylar on his side after all. He knew it was them. The ones who foiled his plans relentlessly, the ones who made him suffer all these damned years and he knew just how to stop them.

"Skylar, dear, I believe your mommy and daddy are here! Would you mind coming with me?"

"Okay! I'll tell them you're okay!" Skylar promised still holding the demons hand.

"Good girl." Ghirahim praised patting her head. The two walked to the staircase where Link and Zelda were at the bottom, trying to come up with a plan on how to get to Skylar.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Skylar waved happily.

"Skylar!" Zelda gasped wanting to run up there and grab her.

"Let her go demon!" Link growled readying his sword.

"Oh she is free to leave whenever she wishes. I am not holding her hostage after all. You want her? Come and get her." Ghirahim smiled, feigning kindness. Link and Zelda both exchanged nervous glances.

The duo began to walk up the stairs slowly, nervously looking for any danger. Skylar got too excited and started to run down the stairs. Without thinking, Zelda started running up with her arms out for her baby.

"Zelda! Wait!"

All Link saw was a movement from Ghirahim. It wasn't much, just the elder shifting weight from one foot to the other.

Fearing for the life of his family he quickly threw a bomb at Ghirahim watching it explode at the man's feet.

Ghirahim took the moment to throw himself down the stairs landing at the bottom in a heap.

Zelda grabbed Skylar and did a quick look over for any injuries.

"He didn't hurt you did he? Have you been eating? When was the last ie you slept? Are you okay?"

Skylar glared and pushed Zelda's prying hands away from her. "Why did you hurt him?! He's my friend!" She yelled towards her father who looked shocked.

"He... he kidnapped you-"

"You destroyed his family!" The little girl then yelled to Zelda who glared at Ghirahim.

"Brainwashing? That's low, even for you!" Zelda growled holding Skylar close.

"Brainwashing? I simply told her the truth. The fact you took everything your highness." Ghirahim mocked. He slowly stood up and looked to Skylar. "You see? They wont even let me have a friend."

"A friend? With her?! No! We wont! I'm not going to let her become a demon like you!" Link yelled.

All Skylar could see was her mommy and daddy bullying this poor man, he just wanted a friend right? Skylar felt her world do a flip flop. She didn't know what was right. If she couldn't trust her mom and dad, who could she trust?

"Are you hungry? Everyone has been so worried about you." Zelda hugged Skylar for the millionth time that day. Skylar hugged back but just wasn't feeling it.

"No..."

"Wanna go play a game?" Link tried trying to get her happy again.

"No."

"Wanna go see grandpa?"

"No! I wanna go to bed! I just wanna go to bed!" Skylar yelled crossing her arms.

"Did you not sleep?" Zelda asked.

"I did." Skylar mumbled crossing her arms.

"Then what's wrong?" Link asked worried.

"You are so mean!" Skylar yelled running to her room in a huff.

"Great. She was only with him two days and now she thinks we're the bad guys."

"She saw us "be mean" to Ghirahim." Zelda mumbled glumly. "Whatever she was told her had convinced her that he's the victim."

"I should never have thrown that bomb..." Link admitted feeling horrible suddenly.

"You did what you had to. We just need to show her he was wrong."

"And I think I know how. She loves stories." Link smiled at his genius plan.

"Just don't tell her anything about the fighting."

"But that's what makes them interesting-"

"No! You just couldn't keep your mouth shut about the battles and now look. She thinks we're evil for fighting!"

"It's not my fault! I always made us sound like the good guys!"

"And it didn't work. Couldn't have told her a princess story, you had to tell her about Demise and me and-"

"And she thinks it's amazing! How was I supposed to know this would happen?!" Link retorted getting frustrated. "You shelter her so much she wouldn't have wanted to leave if she was allowed to go anywhere other than here!"

"You were too busy throwing her around that you dropped her below the surface!"

"And if you would've let me take her down there, she would've known where to go!"

"A lot of bad things happen on the surface!"

"Believe me I know! While you were sitting in a damn crystal I was out there fighting those enemies, crossing the lands, and I was the one who conquered it all!"

"It doesn't matter! You're too busy playing these stupid games and telling her these stupid stories that you wouldn't notice if she fell in quicksand before it was too late!"

"And I told you she would be too light to sink in quicksand!"

"How would you know?"

Link froze and gave a nervous smile. "Nevermind. You're right. Always are-"

"You took her to Lanayru without me?! And put her on quicksand?!"

"Not exactly! I wanted to show her the giant ship and she kinda just kept walking along the sand, she didn't even sink either. I sure did though..."

"I can't believe you!" Zelda crossed her arms angrily. She stood and stormed to the bedroom slamming the door shut.

Link sighed in anger. Why was this so hard? He went back to Skylar's room and knocked. When he heard no reply he slowly opened the door to find Skylar hugging one of her dolls and crying.

"Hey... baby what's wrong?"

"Nothing! Get out! I'm busy!"

"No you're not, come on. Talk to me." Link sat on her bed and held his arms out for her. She hesitated before slowly crawling over to cuddle with him.

"Why are you fighting with mommy?"

"It happens sometimes okay? Mommies and daddies fight and that okay. We don't agree on everything."

"Why did that stuff happen? With Ghirahim and you guys?"

"It's honestly a bunch of adult stuff. You wouldn't understand."

"I am not a kid." Skylar crossed her arms.

"You are only five sweetheart. You are only a child."

Skylar huffed. She wished she wasn't treated like a child. She just wanted to understand...

"Come on. We better go get ready. We're going to grandpa's for dinner. Maybe on the way we can stop and get you that doll you wanted?"

Skylar smiled only slightly. "Really?"

"Yes, really."
