Hey I'm back! Sorry this one is a bit short. I've had this one done since Halloween but I never posted it! My other ones I've been working on are almost done. I just get to the end and totally blank out. It totally sucks because if I didn't have this problem, I could update every week. SO, if anyone is willing I could use a beta. It would be much appreciated!

Alright enough about that. I would love to say I'll have another one sometime next week, but I just don't see that happening. I have a paper that I should be working on due tomorrow, one on Thursday, AND a huge one due next week that I haven't even started on. I also have to go to a wedding all day Saturday :(

One more quick thing: if you look at my bio (you should), you will see my list of projects I am currently working on. I am editing Lost Bonds and Lost Princesses in my spare time. Hopefully I can get that up and running again during the summer. I also am writing the only (that I now of) Divergent AU that nobody asked for! I am happy because I am almost done with the chapters so I should be rolling that puppy out in June/July.

This is set sometime after the dragons disappeared, but before the ball. Ok? Ok.

(Have you guys seen Natsu in the recent chapters by the way? All I can say is wow. My baby is all grown up)

Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail even though I sometimes wish I did.

ENJOY!

Prompt: camping and sunset watching

{A sky full of stars. A sky full of endless possibilities}

Everything was still. All that mattered was the sun falling down from the sky, and the pink, red, orange, and yellow hues that followed. A sunset he never thought he would see again.

Not with her at least.

After the night long battle with the seven dragons, a lot was put in perspective for him. There was always the chance something could go wrong. He knew that. Someday a mission will prove to be a bit too rough. Casualties would be created. He knew that. She knew that.

He had never really thought about how it would feel of something did happen.

To her especially.

She was like a never setting sun, and an always present night. Her hair was the color of daylight, her eyes reflecting the stars. Seeing the stars being sucked out of her eyes almost proved to be too much for him.

Almost.

He knew that if she had really died, he would've lost it. There was no guarantee on what he really would've done. He might have gone berserk. He might have broken. He might have even went as far as-

"Natsu."

The feminine voice that could only belong to his teammate broke up his musings that were turing dangerous real fast.

"Hey, Lucy. Is something wrong?"

Natsu didn't even look up from his spot on the broken cobblestone ground. He heard the slight shifting of weight and clothing coming from his partner. She sat next to him with her legs drawn up to her chin.

"How are you? You haven't said anything to me, or any of us since the fighting ended," she said. The concern was evident in her voice.

Natsu slightly smiled. "I'm just thinking."

"About?"

"About things. Like how much food I am going to eat in a little while. What can I do to start a fight?"

Lucy rolled her eyes. "And here I thought you were becoming intelligent," she stared at him, stars meeting the dark green of his eyes. "Don't lie to me. I know you are, and I don't like it. We are partners; you are supposed to tell me everything."

The dragon slayer ran his calloused fingers through his spiky pink hair.

"I'm just... Thinking about you. And the future you. I don't know what I could've done if present you was the one to..." He choked on the last word.

"Die," she added.

"... yeah."

Instead of a frown, a small smile, the one reserved for him and only him, graced her beautiful features as she gazed at his handsome face.

"Silly. I didn't die. Lucy of a future that could have been died. Instead of thinking about what could have happened if it was really me, think about all the adventures you promised me. Like traveling all over Fiore!"

"On foot," Natsu added.

"Not a chance," the stellar mage's smile grew wider. "How about fighting more monsters?"

"... and collecting more keys and new nakama?" Natsu started genuinely smiling as the list continued.

"Finally going on vacation with out destroying things." Natsu rolled his eyes, like that would ever happen.

"Defeating more dark mages."

"Going on jobs with our team," Lucy's smile was softer.

"Making S-class with you and Happy. Maybe even the ice bastard if he's lucky," Natsu ruffled his pink hair.

"Living with our nakama and going on even more adventures. That sounds like one big adventure to me," her voice echoed in his mind.

One big adventure.

A never ending adventure with his nakama sound pretty good. Especially with Lucy.

"Yeah. Our adventures will be the best adventures ever! You could write about them, so everyone will know just how amazing we are," Natsu puffed up his chest at the last comment. Lucy merely laughed.

Leaning over, she kissed him on the cheek and got up. A small blush appeared on both of their faces.

"Now that you are feeling a bit better, lets go back to camp. I know you must be starving," she reached her hand down for him to grab it. "Let's go eat everything in sight and start a fight, hm?"

The dragon slayer felt as if something in his heart and mind clicked. Nothing had ever made him feel this way before. Maybe it was her hand in his. Maybe the way the spot she kissed still burned. Maybe it was the knowledge that she was there and wasn't leaving anytime soon. They had way to many adventures to go on for that.

"What are you waiting for? Lets go!"
