Author's note: If this story seems to be going at a certain pace for my readers, remember that this story in particular works much like the DC comics possible futures, except that this is a very real future for the main timeline of the Hand of Fate stories, the same way that iLight the Dark is a very real future for the Lords of Shadow Sunnydale series. If the action seems very stifled, you'll be surprised as to why. Anyway, a big shoutout to OneHorseShay for following this story and for following and favoriting me. I really appreciate it.

The next day...
Andre Harris woke up from an oddly restful night of sleep, considering the previous day's events. He thought over the fact that he woke up with superhuman powers. Angels were as real as the life he lives, and that he was now directly involved for whatever reason. To top it off, his friends were involved as well and had their own set of powers as well. He had to admit that this seemed much more awesome when he read books or comics about this sort of thing. But living them was an entirely different matter. He exited his room and proceeded to the lobby where he found Trina already up and eating. She looked at him curiously for a few moments. Andre decided that maybe he could talk to someone, especially as he was curious as to why the elder Vega sister was there.
"Hey Trina," Andre said as he sat next to her on the circular couch.
"Hey," she replied blandly after finishing her breakfast.
"So you in on the whole superpower deal too?" Andre asked.
"Why? Don't think I'm good enough to be?" she asked him sternly.
"I didn't say that. I'm just surprised," he replied.
"I find that hard to believe," she said in response.
"Why are you bugging like this?" he asked.
"Maybe because I'm not exactly with you still," Trina replied.
"Why? I didn't do anything to you?" he said. Trina glared harshly at her former classmate.
"You. Beck. Robbie. Pranking me into thinking I was crazy in front of my dad. To 'teach me a lesson about lies'," she explained. Andre's eyes widened slightly.
"Trina, I was backing my friend and showing that you shouldn't lie," Andre said.
"You think playing with my feelings when I've always felt like shit was the right thing to do?" the martial arts student said.
"Trina you've always been strutting around like you were queen of the world or something. When have you ever felt like shit?" Andre asked, feeling confused.
"I would think that for an actor, you'd actually be able to tell when someone is acting. But you're the same way everyone else was. I tried putting on an act to feel like I was somebody. But the minute Tori got in, suddenly, I was back to being nothing. Treated like nothing. Because just like everyone but Jade, everyone instantly loved Tori. Even you. I admit I was never easy to get along with. But why would you treat me the way you did when Beck got the idea in his head? I never did anything to you. Did you just automatically dislike me like everyone else?" she asked.
"Trina I never hated you, but you really annoyed everyone," Andre tried to defend himself.
"And that gave you a right to treat me like shit? The only reason I won't give Robbie shit is because when it comes down to it, I've treated him horribly for as long as I've known him. But I expected better from you. Tori has gone on about how you're her best friend and she can count on you but the way you guys acted before we graduated is just fucking ridiculous," Trina said as she got up and walked away.
In Cat's room, she and Robbie had woken up and were talking what had gone on the past two days. Robbie was actually rather surprised to hear that Cat's roommate, who surprisingly had been his (or oddly Rex's) rapping rival was a real-live nephilim as was her twin sister. To top it off, Cat had powers that seemed to be able to drive off the evil angels that he had seen yesterday. Cat then barraged him with questions about what he had done.
"So do you have superpowers too Robbie?" the faux redhead asked.
"I didn't think I would. I'm not really anything-" he stopped as his semi-girlfriend cut him off.
"Don't. Don't say you're not special. What you did for our friends...it was amazing and unbelievable. What did you do?" she asked him.
"It's a funny story. My grandparents on my dad's side passed along stories about this group over in Europe. They were called the Brotherhood of Light, if I remember. Anyway, there were these guys who were like the scholars of the group. But at some point, these scholars had to be used for big battles against monsters and evil. So they were taught how to fight. They used holy spells and it was said that a prayer to God could make the knights stronger or protect them from harm until the battle was over. And when those guys...those...angels attacked us, I figured why not give it a try," he explained. Cat was enamored with the tale and began imagining Robbie as that kind of warrior. It was a bit funny for her picture him in some kind of armor but she liked it.
"Maybe you're one of those guys in the story. It certainly helped," Cat said as she gently held his hand.
"I doubt it. It might've been we were lucky. I guess maybe these people can help give us some answers," Robbie said.
"They really can. They were telling us everything they knew about what was going on and what they went through. Maybe we should go down and talk to them," Cat suggested. Robbie nodded and they both left the room to see who they could find.
In the lobby, the young adults decided to hang around and conversed for a few hours to pass the time. In another part of the hotel, the entire team was gather at the conference table, with two new guests who arrived an hour ago after returning from a particular mission. Colonel Shay stood up to address them.
"Alright. Here's the situation as we know so far. Turiel and Ananiel have been sighted in various places by our allies. It seems that Turiel was the same entity that had his power stolen during the Primordium days that was used to empower the slayer, until the power was expelled from Buffy, Kendra and Faith. The power was contained within the jewel that was left behind in the crater that was Sunnydale. But he still managed to retain a great deal of his power. Thanks to Gabriel, we know that this is possible from his experience with the Forgotten One. Based on the encounter that Cordelia and Kira had yesterday, they now have a third member named Jamaerah. We know that they want us and the kids out of the way. But we still don't know what exactly their ultimate goal is," the colonel finished explaining. One of the new guests, a tall man with hair coming down to his neck, spoke up.
"Dean and I have been all over the place combing for clues trying to figure out their game plan. We've even asked Cas, Anna, Gabriel, Samael, and whoever else we can to keep an eye out. So far, we've got nothing. We don't even know if these guys left tracks to follow for sure," the tall man said.
"But the thing that's been bugging me and Sam is the story on these guys. We know that these were some of the same guys called the Watchers. They got thrown out for doing the deed with human women. And after that, there was the flood, which we thought wiped out any nephilim. But these guys aren't exactly stuck in Hell. Even more disturbing is the question of why they decided to come back now. We've been dealing with shit as bad as these guys, so what are they doing?" Dean said.
"They might actually know what we've been doing and they could be getting more guys to take us on. Against a few of these guys at their level, we can hold our own. But the more of them there are, well, we'd only hold out to a certain point," Riley said.
"They've been moving pretty slow so far. There's something else to this. Something we missed. If they really could catch us when we're off guard, what are they waiting for?" Luna asked.
"Perhaps it's not the numbers that they care about. It may be likely that they're searching the one who led them to earth," Trevor said as the thought came to his mind.
"You mean Semyaza? I had read that he did lead them to earth long after the rebellion in Heaven. One thing we know for certain is that for every leader of a garrison, they have to be pretty powerful. And these guys make the Old Ones and the Triad look like ants," Prue spoke up.
"Does anyone know what Cole or Lindsey have been up to?" Faith asked.
"They've been off fighting to make sure that all of Wolfram & Hart's associates don't try to start up trouble. The only good thing Jasmine did was wipe them off the face of the earth. But it seems some of them are trying to make trouble, thinking they can fill the vacuum," Victor replied.
"We're lucky we haven't spread ourselves thin yet. If these two are as powerful as we think, then we need to train everyone as quickly as we can. We can handle this starting today so they can start learning what they can do. Gabriel, make a call tot he local church and tell our guy that he's getting a new trainee. If what Cordy and Kira said about that Robbie kid is true, he'll all the help and encouragement he can get," Xander said. Every stood up and began to go back to their respective tasks in helping to protect the world.
"Xander, why did you mention Mr. Shapiro in that manner?" Jenny asked as he called out.
"Shapiro? That's the young man with the puppet, if I remember," Colonel Shay said as he decided to stay behind.
"Yeah. Whether he knows it or not, his puppet can actually be useful. We already helped Aaron, so maybe we can help Robbie," Xander said.
"That doesn't answer my question," Jenny said with a smirk. Xander sighed and looked down for a second.
"He reminds of me. Him and Freddie both," Xander said. Jenny's face became serious ass he knew what he meant.
"You dealt with having superpowers then if I remember correctly. But I take it that wasn't always the case," Shay stated gently.
"Yeah. When I met Buffy, most of us, except for Giles were just normal. But then one day Oz became a werewolf. Then Willow started practicing magic. I was the normal one until Sachiel showed up. But that's not what I see in them. It's what they try to hide. I could see a lot of myself in Freddie when we met. He carried himself the way someone hiding a lot of pain does. But when I saw Robbie, my heart started breaking for the poor kid. With Robbie, he has pain and hides it. But it seems he doesn't value himself as a person too much. All of these kids are the way many of use were before we came together. We were all in pain or had personal demons of some kind. But together we pulled through. Even if these kids had each other, they haven't experienced what we have. That's also part of why we volunteered to start this organization. Everyone who encounters or is tied to the supernatural is marked in some way that doesn't leave you. You being here, Colonel Shay, is another example. It's why we think Spencer and Carly should be brought in as well," Xander said.
"I agree. I just don't want them to have to take on too much in understanding what they're capable of, or what they can do. Dealing with Spencer's pyrokinesis was crazy. You should've seen him when he was high school. Carly being a budding magic user...just like her mother was. I was hoping they could manage this without too much trouble. But with you all here, I think they'll be in great hands," Shay said with a smile.
"They will be," Xander said before he left to join his wife.
Back inside the lobby of the former hotel, Freddie, Sam, Melanie, and most of the Hollywood Arts friends sat in the lobby in silence not really sure how to broach the subject. Cat had filled Robbie in on what Sam and Melanie were making him a bit fearful. Andre was informed by Tori and the rest were told by whomever informed them. The silence continued before Robbie decided to ease the tension.
"Does anyone else feel like we're the X-Men?" the Jewish teen asked. Everyone looked to Robbie in mild confusion before he looked down in embarrassment.
"He kinda has a point," Freddie stated.
"Come again?" Andre said.
"Think about it. These guys have been doing this for a while. They knew how to find us. Knew what was going on with us. They've already experienced this before and they're trying to help us deal. They could easily persuade us into joining the cause. But they gave us the option to leave if we wanted. They've been upfront with us, about almost everything," Freddie explained.
"What do you meant almost everything?" Melanie asked.
"It was something I picked up. They've told us the truth in regards to the situation. But it feels like there's something bigger. Something they haven't told us yet. Kira and Cordelia mentioned it yesterday when we picked up Andre," the former tech producer said.
"You mean about the world not ending the way most of them thought?" Jade asked from next to him.
"Yeah. Maybe it has something to do with the apocalypse," Freddie said. Everyone froze at his words.
"That's a mood killer," Sam said.
As the young adults became engrossed in silence, Xander and Faith came into the lobby. The couple stopped as they noticed the teens staring at them a bit intently.
"Something wrong guys?" Faith asked.
"Actually, we wanted to talk to you. It's about why you're helping us," Tori said.
"Okay. What do you want to know?" Faith replied.
"It's about something Kira mentioned to us. She told us her story and why she joined you years ago. But she mentioned that the world wouldn't end the way we thought or the way you guys thought. What did she mean by that?" Jade spoke up. Xander and Faith looked to each other before she gently squeezed his hand in reassurance.
"Okay. As you all know, we've been at this for a long time. But for some of us, it started much earlier. Are any of you familiar with a town called Sunnydale?" Faith began.
"Yeah. Small town that supposedly disappeared back in 2003," Jade said having been the most familiar due to her fondness of supernatural.
"Well, the story is true. The town is gone, as in it's no longer around. When I was sixteen, I met Buffy when she was a slayer. I didn't have to powers to speak of when I learned what she was. Neither did Willow. Our hometown was built on top of a portal to Hell. It had some negative effects on a lot of people, including bringing a boy's nightmare's to life or making a girl invisible because she believed it. The worst part was that attracted many demonic vampires or half-breed demons to the place. And some of them either wanted to take over or open the hellmouth," Xander explained.
"Demonic vampires? Half-breed demons? You mean like me?" Sam asked.
"No. The vampires that Freddie, Tori, and Jade encountered aren't like the vampires that Gabriel and Trevor used to be. Demonic vampires are human corpses with a demonic spirit possessing it. They walk, talk, and act like the person the body was. But without the human soul, it's just dark imitation of who the person was. And these vampires could get bad. I mean really bad. Our friend Angel was killed by one and then replaced with this demon that was sadistic like you wouldn't believe. It was believed that the vampire takes on traits of the person they were, but it's a lie," Faith explained.
"As for the half-breed demons. Well, that's a different things altogether. The half-breed demons are much different from a nephilim. Nephilim come from an angel and a human as the parents. But that's provided that the angel in question retains something in particular after their fall. The half-breed demons that the Old Ones created aren't anywhere as powerful as nephilim because they lost most of whatever omnipotence that God gave them. The Old Ones are the lowest ranking angels to fall. So any hybrids they made took on certain non-human appearances but any powers that retained had to be pretty powerful depending on the Old One in question," Xander finished.
"But how does this figure into what Kira told us?" Tori asked.
"A lot of the demons were servants of the Old Ones. And they've tried on more than one occasion to open the hellmouth to let them loose. We originally thought that them getting out would be the end of the world. But then it turns out that the Old Ones were practically the least of our problems. These things could actually be destroyed by volcanoes going off or even large explosions. So once we informed the government of what we knew, we requested that they prepare counteractive measures to fight the darkness, hence the gun with the gem inside. Every apocalypse we've stopped has been warm up to what we really have to deal with," Xander explained.
"You've been through more than one apocalypse? How does that work?" Sam asked.
"I think he means that they weren't a real apocalypse. We live in a world where nuclear weapons are possible. If an Old One ever surfaced, it'd take a nuclear strike to take it out. But if that's true, then that means the strongest of them is the one we'd have to worry about," Melanie mused. Xander and Faith nodded in agreement.
"The Devil," Freddie voiced out loud.
"Yeah. We learned the hard way that some angels have retained their full powers. So it takes more than just our powers to fight them. It takes a truly holy weapon to kill them. Before Gabriel became a vampire, he had this weapon called a Combat Cross. Had nails forged to make it, that were said to have been made from the nails used to crucify martyrs, and the chain was soaked in holy water. A weapon like that could dispel anything unholy, and even kill an immortal," Xander explained.
"Damn," Jade said.
"Yeah. For a long time, Lucifer had been planning this prize fight with Michael, with the Earth as the ring. They both planned to fight with all of us caught in the middle. But our buddy Samael knocked some sense into Michael to help him see that he was wrong. Their fight was prophesied to be the apocalypse of Revelations. But that was a lie too. The signs and seals that were thought to be signs of the apocalypse were really just rituals used to unlock the gateway to his cage in hell. All but one of the seals were broken. But we managed to stop the last one. But now we've got Turiel and Ananiel trying to capitalize on Lucifer being trapped. That's the only thing we could figure is the reason that they surfaced," Faith said.
"And they're looking to kill us because we have the power to stand in their way. Naturally. They get rid of us, they have no one to stand in their way of ruling the world, and with Lucifer locked away, they won't have any competition," Freddie surmised.
"You're right. And that's why we came to you. You guys were all seeping with supernatural potential. It would've been a matter of time before you all were drawn in," Xander said.
"You're saying we've always had this?" Tori asked feeling a bit shaky.
"Seems so. Stuff like this doesn't just go away. It has a way of marking you. If you've ever experienced anything out of the ordinary with yourselves until now, you know why," Xander explained. Freddie thought back on his experiences in Seattle. He remembered the abuse he suffered from Sam at certain points, and how he was able to withstand it. But to this day, eh was still surprised at surviving his run-in with the taco truck. He knew that it should've killed him but it didn't.
"But we do we have these powers now?" Jade asked. Xander and Faith let out a breath knowing this wouldn't be easy.
"That was our fault," Xander said. Everyone stared at him confused for a moment.
"It happened right before Sunnydale sank into the earth. We were getting ready to face off against a fallen angel leading an army of ancient demonic vampires. But we had a problem of giving everyone who was going to fight enough power to stand up against them. We knew the original power of the slayer wouldn't be the best idea," Xander began.
"How come?" Trina said as she knew that she was supposed to be one herself.
"The original power source for the slayer was the spiritual power of an Old One," Faith said. Everyone looked at her in surprise at what she said.
"The slayer had demon power?" Trina asked.
"Yeah. Apparently when the Old Ones were one earth, this trio of powerful shaman captured a girl and took the angel's grace from it and forced it into the girl. After they gave her this weapon, the girl had the power and means to take them on along with whatever powers humans could muster at the time. But that kind of power corrupted her because it came from a fallen one. So before the big blowout in Sunnydale, we had our magic users come together to draw out the demon power, it replace it something else. What powers us now is a combination of Light and Shadow energy, that the Belmonts all use. It turns out, that combination is the power of creation on a smaller scale. We had the stolen grace sealed in a jewel and left it in the town when it collapsed. And the jewels that every potential slayer has is what powers her. But it's only for the one who would make the best use of it. Our angelic friends helped with that. As for the rest of you, that came two years later," Faith said.
"We all stayed in here in L.A. So we could rest and then we tried dealing with getting rid of Wolfram & Hart," Xander said.
"You tried to get rid of the law firm? Talk about a real hate for the man," Jade said with a smirk before she noted the serious looks on the older couple's faces.
"I'm not gonna like the truth am I?" the pale girl asked.
"Afraid not. The law firm was front for a trio of fallen angels who were too weak to fight their own battles. So they used subterfuge to gain political power across the world and came up with their own apocalypse. But then another angel came and blew them to bits. All over the world. This angel was working with a few others to take over the world to create false peace, at the expense of lives taken every day. We defeated it, but we made Gabriel human. He had stolen the grace of a powerful angel after he became a vampire. But we had the means to purify it, and it spread to others all over the world. So for some, such as Freddie, it likely enhanced whatever they were blessed with. For others, they used the energy to do different things. Again, this was for those that God told our friends were worthy to use it," Xander explained.
Jade thought on his explanation and could tell there was some merit. She remembered that earlier that year, she had felt something rush through her that she had never felt before. She remembered that a year later she would feel confidence that she would never have before. And the only one who ever broke past that was Beck. Even stranger was that she had heard the story of the law firm being driven out. All that was told was that the law firm had undergone a large explosion and that the firm was never re-established.
"But that still doesn't answer the question of the world ending," Tori said.
"As we said earlier, the prophecy we had heard wasn't a prophecy but a subtle manipulation so that Michael and Lucifer could fight it out here on Earth. But that's not Michael's job, especially since that fight could go either way. The world will end to begin a new by God himself. Even if Lucifer killed Michael, he'd have to deal with Samael. And even then, he can't end the world. God would start the true apocalypse, which is not the end. But it's a renewal of earth. We've been so twisted up in corruption that it's practically seeped into almost everything. But we've been given a chance to help turn it back around," Xander said. Freddie couldn't help but smile.
"What?" Faith asked.
"Just thinking how I always used to be the man in the background. Now I'm on the front lines," Freddie said.
"Well, you're going to get some training for the front lines. But for some of you, it'll be a bit different. We want you guys to start as soon as possible. It'll take a while, but it'll be worth it. Which reminds me. Robbie, there's somewhere you need to go for you training," Xander said.
"Where to?" the Jewish teen said.
"There's a church a few blocks from here. We have a friend who might be able to help you understand what you can do," Xander said.
"Can someone go with me? I'm not much of a fighter," Robbie said.
"I can walk with you," Victor said as he came into the lobby, and heard the end of the discussion.
"Thanks," the teen said before he and the older man leave the building.
"Tori can train with Willow, Tara, and the Halliwells. Freddie and Jade can train with me. Trina, y'all continue training with Buffy, Faith and Kendra. We don't know how long we have until these guys start up trouble again, so we have to move," Xander said. The teens began dispersing for what they were sure was going to be the most chaotic phase of their lives.
Los Angeles Methodist Church
Los Anegles, California
Robbie and Victor Belmont walked along the streets of the city, with Victor having changing from his fighting garments to civilian apparel. Robbie could feel an odd sense of kinship with the man, alongside feeling like he was standing next to a badass superhero. Although the young man had to admit that he also felt something coming from his guide.
"So how did you get wrapped up in all this?" Robbie asked.
"I was involved involved in the supernatural once I was old enough to be trained. The men in my family are a long line of people who were trained to fight evil in the name of Almighty God. Most of us were members of the Brotherhood of Light, just as Gabriel and Trevor were," Victor said.
"Wait, they were real?" the Jewish teen said.
"Very much so. As were the stories of Gabriel being Dracula," Victor said.
"Wait. Gabriel? The same man in red who was in the hotel? He was Dracula? That's impossible!" Robbie said with his arms flailing. Victor simply chuckled at the awkward young man and explained everything to him. How Gabriel was chosen to defeat three figures of evil. How he was used by Satan. How he became a vampire to defeat and kill a fallen angel. And how the brotherhood used Gabriel's son Trevor to clean up their own perceived mess, as well as Trevor's son, and Trevor becoming a vampire. It all ended when Trevor disappeared and Gabriel wiped out most of the brotherhood's army.
"IF all of this is true, how are Gabriel and Trevor here now?" Robbie asked.
"Call it divine intervention. It's the best way to explain them being mortal again," Victor said.
"So what have you been doing?" the teen asked.
"A little over ten years ago, I stayed over in San Francisco. It seems that there was a rise in supernatural activity. The city itself was seated on a nexus of supernatural energy. But there was a battle to control. But thankfully, I myself, and a couple of friends were able to defend and win it. So now evil can never enter the city again. But this city is still suffering with remnants of the Wolf, Ram, and Hart as well as others. But things have been rather quiet," Victor said.
"So why are we heading to a church?" Robbie said.
"Is that a problem?" Victor asked with a smirk.
"Well no. I'm just wondering why. My family is Jewish in both aspects but my family hasn't necessarily been in a church," Robbie said.
"Well, you'll find that the Abrahamic faiths tell the same stories, possess many of the same elements. The only real problem people have in the three faiths and all their denominations are how our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer is portrayed. If people understood that, there wouldn't be a reason to argue. Of course there are those who twist the faiths to suit their own self-serving purposes, but that's for another day. We're here," Victor said. Robbie looked up at the gothic architecture of the church and was amazed. The two entered the building and walked into the sanctuary. Near the pulpit, was a tall man with a tapered hairstyle that was slightly spiky at the front, wearing a preacher's shirt and slacks. Victor approached the man with a smile.
"Victor Belmont. Good to say you sir," the man said with a southern accent.
"It's good to see you as well, Caleb," Victor responded as they shook hands.
"And who's this young man with you here?" Caleb asked as he eyed Robbie. He could already sense something about the young man as the young man seemed to give him a scrutinizing gaze.
"Robbie Shapiro. And you are?" the Jewish teen said.
"Caleb. You can call me Caleb. Xander called and told me that I'd have a new student. It's been a good while since I trained anyone to be a cleric. I think you'll find the experience enlightening and satisfying," the tall man said.
"Very well. Robbie, I leave you in good hands," Victor said. Caleb nodded before the Belmont descendant left back to the former hotel.
"Well, if you'll just follow me, Mr. Shapiro, we'll get you started," Caleb said as he pointed to a door near the pulpit. The two went to the door and followed the hallway where Caleb led him to a door to a basement. Once they reached the bottom, Caleb turned back to Robbie.
"Listen. I know you may have just graduated and all. So I imagine the book learning is the last thing you want to do. But it's part of the first step to understanding what all you are capable of. Are you ready to do a lot of research?" Caleb asked.
"I like to read," Robbie said. Caleb nodded his head from side to side before he opened the doors.
Inside was what could only be described as an inner sanctum of books that seemed to fill the room from one wall to the other. Robbie looked further down and saw that there appeared to be some kind arena with the books separated by iron fences and what appeared to be glowing runes.
"I call this place the Tam Ad Sciendum. Or Well of Knowledge. We had this place built about the debacle that went down seven years ago. We've been working the government, the brotherhood, and the good folks over at Agharta and we've shared knowledge and technology to bring this place to life. All the books you see here contain knowledge of all the supernatural stuff that everyone that's a part of this group has ever encountered. Although it took a while to really find out what was true and what wasn't. I tell ya, folks who really get into the truth about mythology, I see why they go crazy," Caleb said.
"What about you?" Robbie asked.
"How do you mean?" the older man asked.
"Did you ever go crazy before this?" the teen asked further. Caleb flinched for a second as memories hit him hard.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be rude. I'm just curious," Robbie said in comfort.
"It's alright, son. It's just something I can never forget. It's not something anyone can forget. What I do now, it's the only way I can think of to make it up to any and everyone I did wrong," Caleb said.
"What do you mean?" Robbie said. Caleb gestured to sit down at one of tables in an aisle between the shelves.
"You've heard stories about demons and such, right?" Caleb asked. Robbie nodded.
"I was a part of the attack. But I was one of the bad guys. Not by my own free will. The others know this. A couple of years before I came to Sunnydale, I was possessed by a condemned spirit. It was working for the fallen angel that was trying to get out of Hell. I couldn't get control of my body, so they were riding my body with me riding shotgun. I was forced to watch as it used my body to kill potential slayers and psychics and everyone who could stand in their way. Then I got to Sunnydale in '03. That was the most determinant group I'd ever seen. It restored hope that I could escape that demon. Eventually, I was able to take control and warn them of what happened. So they exorcised me and I was free. I offered my help and they accepted," Caleb explained.
"You sound like you still blame yourself," Robbie said.
"After a while I stopped. You'd have to ask Xander how he felt about it then. He was pretty quiet about it for a while. Anyway, with your training, you can not only save yourself, but also save others from suffering the things I've been through. So now you know. Are you ready?" Caleb asked again. Robbie nodded.
"Let's get to work," he said as he led the teen to a section of the library.
