A/N okay so this chapter came a whole lot later then intended but things started happening and I got started in Nanowrimo and started an original story, and I got distracted from this story, but I'm back now, and I hope I can start to speed up on the updates

The shuttle reconnected with the base with a jolt. The door opened with a hiss, and the soldiers came in to guide Rose and Lily back to their tiny home. Lily held Rose's hand tightly. The halls looked scorched in places, and soldiers milled about clearing out the ruble and, dirt that was left by the battle that was waged here mere hours ago.

Rose found herself hoping that the woman the Doctor had come for had seen her and Lily, and that in a few days the Doctor would be back, and Lily, would meet her father, and never be scared again, but she knew that what she wished for wouldn't happen.

"mummy?" Lily asked, her voice little more than a whisper, "yes Little Wolf?" Rose asked looking down at her daughter, "why couldn't Melody come with us?" she asked. Rose smiled down at her sadly, "because Melody, had to go with aunty Miranda." she said, wishing she could take that child and protect her until her mother could find them.

The door to their room slid open silently and Rose led her daughter, back into their prison. The door slid shut behind them with a final sounding click. Lily let go and walked over to her toys, and sat down on the floor, to play.

Rose went over and picked up the book she had made for Lily's birthday, a few months before, the book was already well loved. Rose sat down on the edge of her bed and watched Lily play, flying her little TARDIS around the room.

Standing Rose went to gaze out the window at the hangar, which was showing the worst damage from the battle. The walls were scored with long black burns, and a staircase on the other end was collapsed, more soldiers were there trying to clear the debris. Rose turned away, why would they bring them back here, when it was clear it wasn't good for their plans, then the cold realization hit her, or it would help their plans be realized.

Rose glanced back at Lily, who sat playing with her toys. If Kovarian told Lily that her father had done this, and lied to her telling her he wasn't provoked, Lily might listen, Rose gulped, and what if the Doctor returns? What if his companion who she had locked eyes with several times, told him, told him she saw a blonde woman and small child across the way? The Doctor would be walking into Kovarian's trap then.

"Sweetheart come here" Rose said gesturing for Lily to come and stand next to her. "I want you to look outside." Rose said bending to lift the little girl onto her hip, Lily stared out the window, "no matter what the eye patch woman tells you, this didn't happen without reason." Lily nodded looking up at her mother with wide dark eyes. Rose looked out the window when Lily pointed outside. Rose looked where she pointed, and saw, that Lily was pointing at a small scrap of cloth that clung to the inside of the window.
Rose set Lily down and lifted the cloth gingerly and held it in the palm of her hand.

It was a dark green color, with gold stitching on it, the words embroidered on it seemed to be printed in another language. Turning it over a few times Rose gazed at it then the words seemed to morph into a more recognizable print, she stopped the turning and read the words which were somehow now printed in perfect English, on one side it said "Flower" on the other side it said, "Tyler" she could only guess that it was supposed to be Lily's name, chances are, there was no word for Lily in their language.

Where did it come from? More importantly how was she able to read it, she didn't have a translator, and the TARDIS hadn't worked for her in years, unless the TARDIS had been here, then it might have sensed her, and given her the influence, of her translator, she decided to test it, "Lily? Can you read this sweetheart?" she asked handing it to Lily.

Lily stared at a small crease forming on her brow as she stared at it then her eyes lit up and she giggled jumping up and down, "it says flower Mummy." she handed it back to Rose, "I can read it Mummy, at first it looked all silly and weird but I can read it." she said clapping her hands.

Rose couldn't help smiling at that before she turned back to the cloth which much to her disappointment was back to the language that it had been before, and no matter how long she looked at it, the words didn't morph again.
