Thank you for reading the first chapter, I'm amazed at the amount of new followers and readers I got from it. For the moment this is only going to be a 2 chapter story as I'm about to be very busy at work and can't commit to more. However I do have more ideas and so look for more in the future. xxx

The following morning, after staying up most of the night thinking about everything, Rory found herself entering the hospital and walking towards Logan's private room. When she got to the right corridor she slowed down and came to a stop outside the door. She reached out for the handle but then backed away quickly, leaning against the wall behind her. She briefly thought about leaving, of catching the flight back to San Diego and forgetting she ever came.

"Excuse me? Are you here to see Logan?" asked a nurse who had come over to her.

"Umm," mumbled Rory, not sure what to say. She had come with the idea to see him and talk to him but now that she was here she didn't know if she could go through with it.

"This may sound strange, but are you Rory?" asked the nurse.

"Yes," Rory replied, looking confused.

"It's just that Logan's been asking for you. You were here yesterday when he woke up?" Rory nodded. "He kept asking to see you but we didn't have your number to call."

"He probably deleted it from his cell."

"We don't have his cell, I think the police gave it to Logan's family. I asked Logan's father if he could contact you and he obviously did."

"Yeah," agreed Rory, thinking again of the previous night.

"You can go in. Breakfast is over and visiting hours started quarter of an hour ago. Logan's awake and I'm sure he'd love to see you."

"Right," mumbled Rory. The nurse didn't seem to be in a hurry to get anywhere and was looking at Rory expectantly. There was no other choice, if she ran then the nurse would tell Logan that she had been here. She would have to be brave and face the music. If Logan said he hated her, she would never have to see him again anyway and would turn down the New York job. She approached the door again, knocked gently and opened it.

"Ace?" said Logan as she slowly entered the room.

"Hi, Logan," she said slowly as she closed the door behind her. She stayed where she was though, near the door, rather than approaching the bed.

"You came," Logan stated, sitting up slightly and wincing in pain.

"How are you feeling?" she asked.

"A couple of broken ribs, a broken leg and lots of bruises. I'm sore but I'll live," he answered. "It's good to see you again, I was starting to think you weren't going to come."

"I didn't think you'd want to see me," admitted Rory.

"Why?"

"After yesterday. You obviously heard everything I said. I could tell by the look on your face. I shouldn't have said ... what I said."

"Because you don't believe them?" Logan asked, frowning.

"No, because I do believe them. But you have your own life now and a fresh start and I'm the person who said no when you asked me to marry you."

"Ace, I love you. And you love me, you said so. We can give us another chance."

"You love me?" asked Rory, stepping closer to the bed.

"Of course. When I walked away at your graduation it wasn't because I stopped loving you. It was because ... I was hurt and ... I thought long distance would be too much. We'd put up with it once but we knew it was the only way ... I didn't want to do it again. I was selfish and I shouldn't have been. I wasn't thinking about you and I should have been. You said yesterday about marriage not working out and I'd never thought about that. Of course you would be scared. The timing was wrong as well ... just as everything in your life changed. Looking back ... I shouldn't have done it."

"Logan, you were ready to make the biggest commitment of your life and I ruined that," said Rory.

"I'd already made a big commitment to you. My friends can't believe that you got me to settle down and be in a proper relationship."

"I'm sorry about what happened."

"You don't need to be. I'm the one that should be sorry. I love you, Ace."

"I love you too."

"I'm moving to New York. Father's orders," said Logan after a couple of minutes.

"I know. He came to see me last night," explained Rory. Logan looked shocked.

"He ... what?"

"He found out what hotel I was staying in and came to visit."

"What did he say?"

"That he was sorry about how he acted towards me, both as a journalist and as your girlfriend. He offered me a job."

"Where?" asked Logan, not daring himself to believe that his dad could have done something good. Knowing Mitchum, the job would be in California.

"New York," replied Rory, smiling at the look on Logan's face.

"Did you take it?"

"Not yet. He gave me until later today to think about it."

"Are you going to accept?" asked Logan.

"I don't know. I needed to come here and talk to you first, in case you hated me."

"I could never hate you, Ace. I need you. Since we broke up I've ... I've been a mess. Just ask Colin and Finn. My life falls apart without you. I get home from the office and ... it's just empty so I go back out to a bar. I need you."

"Well I am sick of the bus and hotel rooms," admitted Rory, a smile creeping on to her face.
