If he was a painter, he would be sure that she would be is best work of art ever, and yet the one he wouldn't be able to look at without seeing the errors he created, that one work he will be most famous for will really ruin him inside out. As Jellal Fernandes gazed upon his companion sleeping, he knew he was correct. So much of her life now was spent into making sure he was happy, now that he remembers everything he sees her as the woman with the knowing smile. The one woman to whom he could look at and see all her errors and yet know nothing of it, far away the perfect painting, up close a disaster waiting to happen.

The puppet master, the one behind the king's chair giving off advice, always giving the advice and orders a like no matter where she is, Ultear Milkovich was not one to be in the spotlight, she was one who preferred to sit back and watch everything with a smile as her pieces fell into place. Once Master Hades was the king and Jellal the pawn, but now it seems that pawn climbed up the ladder, but she is still the chess player.

Though, in the end, Jellal knew he wouldn't have it any other way. He's seen Ultear in the zone when they were partners in crime and even now as she planned to take out the dark guilds. She was very detailed in her planning and would do anything to carry it out accordingly, she was also the 'Plan Z' type people and always knew what to do, it was quite rare for her not to know what to do, and that was what happened this day, which ended up Ultear taking a hit for Meredy before Jellal stepped in and defeated the Guild Master of the Dark Guild, who was surprisingly powerful.

Looking at her wound in the leg, Jellal grimaced a little, for him it was one of those 'if only I was faster' moments. Though the guy did get what he deserved in the end, and another dark guild is gone, the mission injured someone he was close with. Leaning his head against the cave wall and he sighed and closed his eyes thinking about Erza. She's gone now, and it was time for him to move on from that…right? He wasn't sure what to do.

A conflict occurs for the man and it grows the more time he spends with Ultear, though the woman always teases him he finds himself more attached to her than he should. She was a lifeline of sorts from his own world to reality.

Banging his head against the wall a few times he sighed once more, all these emotions were not ones he was fond of thinking about, but the time mage was just to alluring. In her pale skin, dark hair and flashing eyes-she was exotic. Her personality was something he already discussed, but there was the softer side of her that was rarer than a blue moon.

Gazing back down at Ultear Jellal sighed, every woman he has ever fallen in love with was one in which he could do nothing but gaze at. Different from Erza, Jellal would not ever try to use Ultear has his pawn, no he would continue being the pawn that climbed up the ladder and became the king. Until he gets de-crowned, he shall be her King.
