Epilogue

Jenny rested peacefully in her sleep mode when she heard something downstairs. She disconnected from the bed and put on a T-shirt and slippers. She decided not to put her hair up since it was the middle of the night. As Jenny started down the stairs, she heard the refrigerator door open. She reached the kitchen and spotted a tall figure in a black cloak holding a long metal staff with a golden star on the top end.

Jenny drew her laser rifle and pointed its muzzle at the cloaked figure. "Alright buster, freeze!" she commanded. The stranger removed the cloak's hood and held his hands up. "Whoa don't shoot! I'm not here to hurt you." He said in an Austrian accent.

"Then why are you here?" Jenny demanded. "My name is Jorgen von Strangle: leader of Fairy World and I have come to give you a message." He explained. Jenny retracted the laser rifle and cocked one eyebrow.

"You see, I have traveled from far away to tell you that you are part of a bigger universe than you realize. A universe filled with many heroes like you." Jorgen continued. That piqued Jenny's interest. "Other heroes? Who are they? Where are they?" she asked excitedly. She'd heard rumors about superhuman occurrences in other cities around the world, but no one confirmed them until now.

Jorgen held up his right hand. "I can't stay here much longer so you will have to discover that on your own. But I can tell you that you must join forces with these heroes in order to ward off a rising tide of evil, for there are other villains too."

Jenny suddenly felt unsure about what this strange man told her. "How do I know you're telling the truth?" she inquired. "Hold out your hand." Jorgen replied. The young heroine wore a slightly puzzled expression as she extended her palm toward Jorgen. The star on his wand lit up for a moment and in a brief flash, a camouflage walkie talkie with a star on the end of its antenna appeared in Jenny's hand.

"This device will allow us to communicate instantaneously." Jorgen explained. "However, you must promise never to use it unless absolutely necessary." Jenny cocked an eyebrow. "Define absolutely necessary." Jenny requested. "You'll know when the time comes." Jorgen answered. "Sorry but that is all I can say for now." Before Jenny could say anything more Jorgen turned to her. "Farewell robot girl and tell no one of our meeting." He said as he disappeared in a flash of light and smoke.

Jenny stood there for a moment, briefly looking down at the walkie talkie and back to where Jorgen stood. She then heard footsteps coming down the stairs. "XJ9, is that you?" Nora asked. "What in Heaven's name are you doing up at this hour?" Jenny noticed the still open fridge. "Oh… uh… sorry." She stammered. "I was just getting a midnight snack." Nora closed the refrigerator door. "XJ9, it's 2:34 A.M. go back to bed." Nora sighed.

Jenny followed Nora upstairs and returned to her room. Well that sure was strange. Jenny thought. Still, as Jenny drifted back into sleep mode her thoughts clung to the idea of heroes other than her. I can't wait to meet these other heroes.
