Top of the World
She never asked for this life.
The status, the clothes and jewelery, the lavish rooms. It all seemed appealing, though without love, they might as well have no value. Her marriage to the king was not out of love. She was forced into a life she didn't want. She was a pawn used in a game she did not want to be a part of, and there was no escape.
Before she moved into the palace, everyone seemed to glorify court life and noble titles. Now that she had it, all she wanted to do was scream. They had no idea what they fantasized about was just a child's dream.
The king could not love her the way he loved his late wife and his daughter. No matter how much effort she tried to get along with the king, it all just backfired. Her relationship with the princess might as well be a whole lie. She could never forgive the little snitch who ratted and took the only thing pure in her life. No matter what she did, her efforts were always in vain. She was trapped in a lavish prison.
Even though she wore the crown, everyone seemed to dismiss her as if she was a plant or a palace decoration. They hardly noticed if she was there or not. The king wanted a new wife, though he always claimed the late queen to be the fairest in the land. She hid the hurt beneath a smile and summon court jesters to entertain him.
Anyone would think her life was ideal. Next to the king, she had the highest title in the land. She had everything, and she seemed so high, though nothing could kill the loneliness.
If she had everything... why did she still felt empty?
And they say...
She's so lucky, she's a star
But she cries, cries, cries in her lonely heart, thinking...
'If there's nothing missin' in my life, then why do these tears come at night?'
