Chapter 9
Usui had a terrible feeling at the pit of his stomach. It's been two hours since his flight landed, and the minute he reached the Castle he tried to get a hold of Misaki but unfortunately it was her day off, and she was not around. He went to her room, only to find it empty, he checked the garden, as she sometimes went there to be amongst nature, she was nowhere.
After half an hour of searching he was about to lose his mind. It's not like Misaki never left the castle but he always knew where she was going. He had someone make sure that she was safe wherever she went. He knew that she frequented the unsavoury parts of London but he never asked the people he hired why she went there, he respected her privacy that way. He was sure that when she would trust him enough she would tell him. It was also his way of finding out when she would finally start trusting him.
This time he didn't knew where she was, and it didn't help that his gut told him that she was in trouble, he didn't know how he knew, he had no proof, but he knew.
Usui called Mrs. Flighbert and all the servants to the common room.
"I am sure, there were 28 of you excluding Misaki, you are only 26, where are the other two."
Mrs. Flighbert blushed, "Sir, I .. um... that is... they are otherwise occupied" she said heavily embarrassed.
The three girls standing behind her chuckled, "I don't care if they are fucking, get them here in two minutes or else they might find themselves out of a job" Usui was so angry he would have hit someone.
Mrs Flighbert motioned to one of the girls and the girl rushed away looking for them, and as they suspected they were in one of the unoccupied rooms humping each other.
Usui didn't care that all the employees were talking about him and Misaki, they thought that she was one of his conquests, someone he would discard after bedding her, but his reaction to her going missing seemed to make the servants realize that it's possible that their young master was possibly in love with that her.
A few of them, elderly ones openly snorted. They knew how this ended, and in most case scenarios the guy had nothing to lose, but the servant is usually kicked out by the Master of the house without a reference, and is replaced by someone new and younger. It can't end well for anyone of them. And if he was in love, more's the pity on him. People in their class hardly thought about before ruining someone's life.
Misaki woke up tied to a chair. She didn't know where she was and her head hurt like hell, it might be the bruise she got when she collapsed on the floor of that shady bar. Misaki tried to remember the last place she went but her head hurt so much that it was difficult to concentrate. She finally remembered that she was supposed to see that famous painter and she had walked into a bar to ask for directions. Those bastards, they must have done something to her, how the hell was she so stupid to have ended up in a situation like this. She knew what was going to happen to her, she was either to be raped or killed or both.
The ropes around her hands were so tight that she was unable to move them without hurting herself. There was also a gag around her mouth that stopped her from screaming, not that it would do her any good. Her eyes finally got used to the darkness after some time has passed. She was in a large room with no windows, it seemed like a basemen of some sort. She scanned the room for any weapons or tools that she could use to escape, there were none.
Usui was pissed enough to murder someone, twenty eight people including that snobbish butler who looked like he just had the time of his life and not one of them had heard from Misaki in 24 hours. Most likely she had left the house yesterday evening without telling anyone.
Initially he only doubted that she must have landed in trouble, now he was completely sure. Usui had already given up hope that he would get any kind of information from this bunch of idiots when suddenly a teenage girl walked in looking surprised. She was most assuredly woken from a sleep and had no idea what was going on. Usui looked at her and asked one of the maids, "Who is this girl I haven't seen her before". Not that he paid any attention to the maids (except one) but he remembered a face when he saw one.
"I am so sorry" one of the maids panicked, she is my sister, she has come to live with me for a few days, because she has nowhere to go, our aunt has kicked her out of the house, oh please don't kick her out, I beg you," She seemed to be shaking.
"I have no interest in your family drama, I just want to know where Misaki is", Usui looked exasperated, at this rate he would have a better luck looking for Misaki out on the streets than asking this numb heads where she went.
"Misaki?" the young girl's eyes widened. She tried to control her emotions from being too obvious but Usui had obviously noticed the change that came over her, that little girl looked petrified.
Usui narrowed his eyes and came face to face with the pale chit. "Do you know where she is?" He put emphasis in each word, making sure the girl knew the seriousness of the situation.
She gulped if she told him that it was her idea that Misaki had gone into the slums of London he would not only kick her out but throw her sister out as well. But she couldn't very well, keep quiet, it was her fault that Misaki was missing. "She has gone to St. Giles to look for other means of earning money" The room fell into a hushed silence, everyone present there knew what sort of employment was waiting for a girl in a place like St. Giles, especially for a women, it was one of the worst areas in all of London.
Takumi lips became a straight line, it was worse than he thought.
Misaki heard voices coming to the room and so she pretended to feign unconsciousness. It was better that way maybe she will find out what there ruffians plan to do with her.
There were three different voices, one of them was saying, "You know I don't deal with women, I have a rule, I stick to drugs and burglary, I am not a pimp". High ideals for a burglar, Misaki thought.
"Maybe we should hand her off to Mr. Harold, and by the looks of her we would fetch a hefty sum." Another voice said.
So that's what she has gotten herself into, human trafficking. She didn't know how long she was tied there. Surely someone must be noticed that she is missing, but how could they know where she has gone too.
"Oh look, the lassie is finally coming around". My eyes finally opened to see three big muscular men hovering over me. From the looks of it, they were petty thugs. One of them had a big scar on his face that made him look like a rogue. Standing next to him was the bartender who had given me that godforsaken drink, but the third one seemed to agitate me the most. He looked at me like he was calculating what to do with me, it's no wonder he seemed like he was the brains behind this kidnapping.
"We should have some fun before we hand you over eh? What say lads?" the scarred face said guy coming close to me.
"Untie my ropes and I'll show you fun", I spat at them. The men snickered looking at me, as petite and helpless as I looked they didn't think I would be any match for the three of them.
The third guy put his feet in the side of my chair leaning towards me; he grabbed my chin with his right hand and stared at me. "I would love nothing else but to break that spirit of yours" he had an evil gleam in his eyes.
The men cut the ropes and as soon as my hands were free I tried to punch the scarred guy, he seemed to be expecting that, he grabbed my fist and twisted my hands at my back, he seemed to know that I would try to fight back. He was almost double my body weight. The two other men seemed to enjoy the show, I whimpered in pain, he grabbed both my hands and I kicked him then in his balls, he staggered back, the others were hollering , " for devil's sake, you can't even take on a wimpy girl" said the third guy, this seemed to agitate him more and he came at me with full force, he punched me hard in the face and it knocked me down on the floor, my head was reeling, is this how this ends? Are they going to kill me or maybe do something much worse?
I tried to get up but the guy was on top of me, tearing my clothes, that's when I started screaming. I bit his shoulder blade, I punched him; it seemed to have no effect. I kept on screaming and he punched me again "Shut up you bitch, SHUT UP. SHUT UP SHU..." I couldn't hear the rest because I had passed out from the pain.
He knew where she was. He just hoped it wasn't too late.
His security guy told him that his men asked around and after bribing a lot of people one man came out and told them that they did see a raven haired girl walking into a bar 3 hours ago, she didn't look like she was from the area. After going inside, the atmosphere seemed to make Usui sick. They went straight to the bartender to ask him about a girl that came here; he had no idea as it was his brother who was attending the bar at that time.
The four guys that came with Usui dragged the guy outside and interrogated him until he spilled out that his brother and two other guys usually hang out in an abandoned church. It was dilapidated and no one went there so it was a perfect place for their hideout.
Usui was running as fast as his legs would take him to the church, dreadful thoughts kept coming to his mind. But if he focused on that he might never make it. The fear that gripped me was so overwhelming that he had to shut his brain to be able to function. He cannot give up on her. She has to be safe. At the same time he was scared of reaching the place and finding no one. He entered the old building and that's when he heard her screams.
His whole body went numb, if she was screaming she was still alive but her screams seemed to make his bones shake. He ran towards the basement like a mad man, as that's where the screams were coming from.
The rest was a blur; he doesn't remember what exactly happened. He saw a brawny man on top of Misaki, hurting her and that was it. He lost all sense of what he was doing, his only mission was to kill that man who dared to hurt her. It was as if he was working on autopilot. In 10 minutes she was in his arms. She was unconscious but she was still breathing. Her body was battered. A tear slid down his cheek; "You have fought well my love, now rest" He kissed her forehead and started the car.
He doesn't remember if he actually killed the man. All he knew that his knuckles were bleeding and he had spots of blood on his collar and face. He let his men take care of the rest of the guys. Right no he needed to focus on her, if he didn't he feared he would go on a mad rampage till he dropped dead. He has never been so scared his entire life. No one ever had meant this much to him. She has to be alright.
A/N: Hello my lovelies, again I am extremely sorry for the late update. I hope you all are fine during these difficult times. I am not sure how many of you still read my stories, but for those who have still stuck around, you have my undying gratitude.
The chapter was by far one of the hardest to write; maybe because there was so much violence and passion at the same time. Still, keep on looking forward for my next update I promise it won't be long.
Take Care and don't forget to leave reviews. They always inspire me to write and make my day.
