Patty Hewes strolled confidently down the hallway of the Rikers Island administration building. She was close , so damn close. This case had been dragging on for a ridiculous 5 years, full of melodramatic ups and downs, highs and lows.

It had started in the summer and with a bang, but not the usual kind. Ellen Parsons was found dead in her East Village apartment at exactly 11:47 am on a Sunday. There were no blood wounds, and it was immediately concluded that it was not a traditional cold blood murder. She was found by a neighbor in bed. She looked as if she was asleep. But Ellen didn't wake up.

Hewes and Associates made the murder investigation of Ellen parsons their top priority, with Patty reluctantly teaming with the D.A to find evidence proving Ellen was poisoned by one of Middle Eastern cartel leader Shirfu Ahmadad's men. Ellen had previously won a huge case against one of Ahmadad major dealers that put an effective hole in his empire. Naturally, revenge was in order, but of course no one saw it coming.

Ahmadad was clever. Patty soon learned, and over the five years the investigation extended they found bits and pieces of information, witnesses who were either too reluctant or too willing to talk, and trails made purposely to lead Patty and her team of the beaten track. Whoever it was , they were good. Very good.

But now, Patty had finally found a witness she knew that could give her the information, and the authorities the information they needed to track down Ellen Parson's killer and bring him down.

Patty slowly stopped in front of the door slowly. Pausing. She gritted her teeth, held her breath… Ellen would finally be avenged. Patty would make sure of it.

When she had learned of Ellen's murder she had been emotionally distraught for almost a week. Patricia Hewes had never in her life felt so weak or helpless. But knowing know that finally she could bring down Ahmadad had an extremely satisfying feeling to it. "They can finally pay", she thought to herself. Patty took a deep, ragged breath and opened the door into the interrogation room.

"ELLEN!"
