May sat at a bench far away from the crowds of people at the festival in Hoenn. She looked up into the sky and sighed a deep sigh, unsure of what to do.

"May?" Drew's voice rang throughout the air as May spotted him walking forward toward her. "What are you doing all the way out here? There's hardly anyone here."

"That's the point, Drew," May huffed. Just the sight of the boy drove her crazy because he was the last person she wanted to see her in one of her worst states. "I came here because they're weren't people around. But what are you doing here?"

Drew laughed and flipped his hair, his signature move he was well known for, and laughed. "May," he began, "of course I'm here to get away from all my fans." His aura of haughtiness only further angering her.

She sighed and stood up from the bench and began to walk away from the lights and festive activities, and most of all, Drew. "I don't want to talk right now. See ya, Drew."

The boy was quick on his feet and caught May by her arm back towards him. He pulled her back harder than he thought which sent both crashing to the floor, Drew on top of the ground and May on top of him. His air blew out of his mouth as if he'd gotten the wind knocked out of him. "May!" he yelled, completely out of breath. "Get off of me! You're heavy!"

"If my little brother can carry me on his back, I'm sure I'm not that heavy!" she screamed back.

"..."

"Drew?" After a couple of seconds with no reply May looked down to the boy she was sitting on. He was blue in the face.

"I... can't breath."

She screamed and quickly jumped off the boy, grabbing his hand and helping him to his feet. She walked him over to the bench she was previously sitting on and sat next to him. For the next couple of minutes all they did was sit in silence as Drew swatted at the bugs around him, the night air attracting them by the dozens.

"Let's face it," May said, "you and me both know that you don't have any fans, or they would have been here by now."

"Let's face it," Drew said, "you don't use your brain. What part of 'desolate place not even the pokemon care to come' don't you understand?"

May groaned.

"Of course they aren't going to come look for me here," Drew continued. "Until I go over there were everyone else is, it's just you and me, May."

You and me, she thought in her head, letting the words repeat themselves until her face was painted a dark shade of pink.

Drew started at her with a sideways glance, leaning back into the bench, careful not to make eye contact. "...You're cute like that, May."

"What?" She turned to face the boy, unsure of what he just said.

"Just.. forget I said anything."

"No! Tell me what you said," she demanded, pulling and tugging at his arm.

"It's not important."

"Just tell me."

"No way!"

"Yes!"

They both glared deep into each others eyes, their determination each showing through. It was then while they were staring at each other that May realized what a beautiful shade of green Drew's eyes were. Her gaze softened and her cheeks reddened.

"What?" Drew asked upon seeing the girl was no longer glaring at him, but rather gazing at him.

"You have really pretty eyes," she whispered softly, entranced by them.

"What?"

May laughed and shook her head. "Just forget I said anything," she said, laughing at the bit of irony.

"What'd you say?"

"It's not important."

Drew huffed and turned back into his seat, folding his arms and crossing his legs. "And if I said it was important to me, would you answer?"

The brunette tilted her head. "What? Why would it be important to you, Drew?"

"...Because I like you."
