Melody Pond, more commonly known as River Song, had been saved into a planet-sized database and library.

Enough information to keep her busy for centuries.

Information about The Doctor and his travels.

She had been in the database for four years.

She hadn't seen The Doctor for four years.

She hadn't seen her Doctor for seven.

One Spring day, when the baby animals are out to play, something stirs the leaves laying on the path.

The wind gets stronger and sways branches in flowery trees.

The wind stops as soon as it starts, bringing something new along with it.

A blue Police Telephone Box.

River was reading an ancient book about the Aboriginals on Earth, and how some carvings showed a man, and his blue box, when she heard it.

It took approximately 32.64 seconds to get to the source (that was 200 meters away).

If she were the fainting type, she would have blacked out there and then.

Her hearts probably would have stopped too.

Out of the box stepped an impossible man.

"Doctor Song," he said in recognition.

She slapped him on the face.

Or attempted to at least.

Her hand went straight through his face.

"How did you and Sexy get here? What did you do? Why are you here? And why, why oh why, can't I touch you?" River wasn't going to be patient for her answers.

She hadn't seen this incarnation of him in seven years.

Seven years.

"I uploaded a projection of myself to give you a message."

"And the message is...?"

"You're getting out of here. I'm getting you out."

The Doctor disappeared.

The TARDIS was gone too.

(Other) Dave was waking around town when he saw River sitting on a park bench, underneath a very flowery tree.

Not once before, in seven years if knowing her (three years as archeologists, four years in the database) had he seen her cry.

But, there she was, looking as if her heart had been ripped out and eaten by a shark.

Or something like that.

She barely acknowledged his presence when he sat down.

He couldn't stand not knowing.

"What is it, River ?"

"The Doctor just came... and left again, as if it's been nothing, stuck in a computer for four years without seeing him.

"When you say The Doctor... The Doctor when he knew you, or The Doctor we met?" (River had explained it all to the group, they had been dying to know.)

"My Doctor."

One month later.

River was retracing the Harry Potter series (because it's brilliant...) when she felt something.

It felt like a tremor, but computers don't have pressure plates...

Was it a glitch in the memory bank?

Was something interfering with the records?

Had The Doctor kept his promise?

The shaking gradually got worse, when finally everything went white.

River woke in the sick-bay.

The TARDIS sick-bay.

What was going on?

She turned her head to the right, to notice someone standing at the entrance, his arms crossed and a grin across his face.

"The hell did you do?"

"Saved you."

"How?"

"I uploaded your memories and mind into a flesh ganger of yourself, but don't worry, your literally human now. You've been stabilized by Sexy."

"Can I slap you in the face now?"

"No! Besides, you've been grounded by the Pond's; your parents, for knocking me out, handcuffing me and sacrificing yourself to save thousands of people. They don't like their only child dying."

"Oh, great..."

"You haven't aged a bit, might I add."

"Yeah, that was you. I wouldn't have aged in a thousand years."

"I know I'm a genius, no need to remind me."

"Oh, shut up."
