Chapter Two
She had to be dreaming...had to...there was no way what Fred had said was true...right?! Her chest tightened as she began to hyperventilate, her eyes snapping open to meet two pairs of identical brown ones.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me..." The foul word was one she would never use on a normal circumstance but damn if this wasn't one. Also when one spent so much of their teenage years traveling with a half demon who had the vocabulary of sailor one tended to pick it up.
The sharp bark of laughter only made her glare more at the two Weasley twins.
George couldn't help it, really he couldn't. To hear such a foul word fall from her pink lips. Oh Merlin's balls! "Oh watch out Freddie you're new wife has quite a mouth on her!"
Fred could only let out a strangled noise, a cross between a sigh and a sob, as he ran his hand over his face. This was not how he wanted her to find out and George wasn't making it any easier.
George could only roll his eyes as his twin glared at him and held up his hands in defense. "Er- sorry mate. I'll just leave you two lovebirds alone." With that he quickly left the room, sending his twin a thumbs up a she shut the door behind him.
The silence that fell over them was almost suffocating.
Kagome didn't know what to really say, when she woke up she wasn't expecting to hear this. She saved his life, sure, that was fine. She was happy she could do that, but to be told she was bound to life with someone she didn't really know and she could never be unbound to him. That wasn't something she knew how to deal with.
She wanted to fall in love. She wanted to be romanced...that wasn't too much to ask for was it? Was it?
Well, it seems like it was now. She would never get to be swept off her feet like she had hoped. She would never get all the firsts, she was married.
She looked at Fred Weasley. She knew it wasn't his fault, she was the one who saved his life. It was her fault they were in this situation. He could be mad at her too.
Sighing she sat up and faced the ginger haired man. He was looking at her a small smile on his face. Kagome could tell he was uncomfortable and didn't know what to say to her.
"Where does this leave us then?" Kagome asked, breaking the silence. There wasn't much they could do since they were already bound.
Fred scratched his cheek, blue eyes looking at her and sighed, "We get to know one another. You saved my life. I would have died if it wasn't for you. I am grateful for this." He paused as he shuffled his feet and ran a hand through his hair.
Kagome could tell he was nervous and also didn't know what to really make of the situation they were in.
"I know...that this isn't a normal situation...but" he paused again and looked her straight in the eye as he straightened his body up and looked at her with determination, "...I will try to make sure you have a life you are happy with...I will try to make you as happy as you can be. You may be stuck with me...but I will do everything I can to make sure the life you gave me...makes you happy."
Kagome opened her mouth, then closed it. She wasn't expecting him to say that...to want to do that. She looked him in the eye and asked him one question she needed to know, if there was going to be any hope of them both being happy.
"Do you think you could love me?"
