A/N: Hey everyone. Just a little drabble I wrote to satisfy some Tedromeda feels.
They weren't friends first. They weren't in the same social circles, they didn't hang out in the same places between classes, and they weren't in the same house. Hell, according to her family, they weren't even the same race. They just sort of happened.
She shouldn't want him to notice her. She shouldn't want his hand to brush hers as they pass in the hallways. She shouldn't want him to flash her that goofy grin of his. She shouldn't get butterflies in her stomach every time he looked at her with those sparkling, blue eyes. And she definitely shouldn't want to kiss him behind the tapestry on the third floor by the Charms classroom. But dammit she did all of those things and she couldn't seem to make herself feel guilty about it.
There was just something about Ted Tonks that Andromeda was drawn to. Maybe it was the way that he came to her for help with her homework, a boy not afraid to ask a girl for help. Or maybe it was the way he didn't care about what house she was in or who her family was. Or maybe it was the fact that he had a rather lovely bum. Whatever it was, Andromeda couldn't quite put her finger on it- maybe it was just all of the little things that were just so, well, Ted.
If her family knew about her sneaking around with a Muggleborn- Andromeda couldn't even bring herself to think that nasty word she had been brought up saying anymore- there would definitely be hell to pay. But Andromeda couldn't be bothered to care because none of that mattered anymore. Bellatrix was a psychopath following around an even bigger psychopath, killing Muggles and torturing Muggleborns and Andromeda hardly recognized the girl who used to play with her when they were little beneath the bigotry and the hooded, black cloaks. And Narcissa was so caught up in appearances and what other people thought of her and maintaining her popularity and her schoolwork that she hardly had time to notice what her big sister was doing.
She looks up from her musings then and finds Ted coming toward her. She smiles to herself as she pretends to do her homework and tries to ignore the chills he send down her spine as he passes and brushes her shoulder.
Later that night, when she's sitting with him in a secret room behind a mirror, listening to him talk about anything and everything, Andromeda can't help but imagine a life for herself with this boy. A life that will probably lead to disinheritance. A life that will never allow her to see her family again. A life that will pit her against her sisters. A life that will be full of joy and happiness and love with children and a cozy little cottage and maybe a dog- she might like to have a dog. And most definitely it will be a life with this blonde-haired, accident-prone, silly boy called Ted because she is deeply and irrevocably in love with him.
I hope you enjoyed it! Reviews are wonderful!
