Fabulous readers,

Can I talk about how hard it is to slip into the socks of an older fandom? I mean, I was such a hardcore fanatic for Harry Potter back in the day, but man, I kept wracking my brains for the inspiration to get this one going. Sorry, Alyx Nightfury for taking my sweet ass time with this. Everyone say thank you to her for our final 30 days prompt... After. What, 3 years after I originally started it we are finally finished? I might just get emotional right now.

So right now the active fics are Open Water, and the new In the Wake of His Sorrows. I've been mulling over the fairy AU, thinking of plot ideas and how it would work out... Nothing has been started yet, but I would like to get something rolling on that. I'm also thinking about doing something concerning a different fandom? Is there a collective fandom that we'd all like to see have something happen with? I'll list my fandoms and ships in my profile, go check them out and we'll see if we can't cook something up. I'm only as good of a writer as my readers help me to be. 3 It's been a wonderful journey with you all.

To all of you that commented and reviewed, please know that I have read them all and that you are greatly appreciated your thoughts and love. I used to reply to my reviews, but I got so far behind on them that I sort of hid under a rock. But my thanks is to you! Really! Mwah.

Tucked away on a little house on a hill, one young boy did not expect, ever in his wildest dreams, to be whisked away on such a marvelous adventure; no, for this would be no mere adventure, but rather it would be the rest of his life. A life amongst the magical and magnificent.

Muggle borns were hardly a rarity in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry anymore. They were practically a dime a dozen admits the half bloods and purebreds. So there were plenty of individuals at which to stand beside in communal awe over the magical wonder that encompassed the massive castle.

This place, this wondrous place would be his to call home all school year long!

Mr. Jamie Bennett was particularly proud of his new found talents. All of the weirds happenings and strange misfortunes that followed him throughout his childhood made so much more sense now. He was standing outside on the castle grounds gawking up at the splendorous display of history and power. How many young gents his age could honestly say that they lived in a castle, let alone practice magic like some grand medieval magician? He was honored but saddened that he could not at least tell his closest mates the exciting news. For all they knew, he was shipped off to some stuffy boy's academy in Scotland.

He had already had his mind blown by the first year's opening ceremony on the night of his arrival, so he wondered what else could possibly be in store for him. It was the first day of classes and he opted to mill about the gardens until the bells chimed for the start of classes. He was so excited that he couldn't possibly allow himself any rest until he could confirm to himself over and over again that this was all not just some elaborate dream or trick of the eye.

No matter how hard the muggles worked to invent in their world, they could not quite pull off such a thing as magic. Cellphones, computers, games, and movies all seemed to dull now in comparison. Well, cellphones were still useful, at least they gave him something to check the time with. Jamie pulled his phone from his pocket and flashed the screen quickly to check the time. He would probably have to invest in a watch. He wasn't even sure if phones were allowed during class times; there was a strange lacking in rules regarding the subject.

"What the heck is that?"

Jamie nearly jumped out of his skin. In his moment of brief terror he fumbled his phone and let it slip through his fingers so that it landed on the ground with a hard thwack. "Oh no," he said as she bent down to scoop it up. Phones were such fragile things. How many times had he taken his in to get it fixed already? For a second he thought that it might have survived the fall unscathed, but upon picking it up the screen flickered and cracked, bleeding dead pixels throughout the face of his phone.

There was a presence that came to his side and knelt with him. For a second there was a few moments of silence before Jamie even realized that this young man had been standing there. The boy was staring curiously down at the phone, cocking his head from side to side as Jamie cradled it gently. He repeated his question with that same cool voice that first startled Jamie.

"Well, what is it? It's not very useful, is it?"

It was hard to think that there were people would would be so confused and awed by anything he could ever carry on his person, and yet there he was, ooing and awing. This young man was thoughtfully stroking his pointed chin as he merely grabbed for the phone and twisted it around in his hands to better examine it.

"Hey!"

"Hey!" the other repeated. "Is this one of those phone boxes?"

"What? Er, no. It's a cellphone," Jamie said as the taller male stood up, phone still in hand.

"Oh, is it broken now?" he asked as he turned it around to show Jamie the crushed screen.

Jamie sighed and ran his fingers through his chestnut brow hair. "Unfortunately. I don't even know if I can get it fixed all the way out here." That was the messy thing about going to a boarding school, he was stuck on campus until holiday.

"Oh, that's not a problem," the other boy said as she whipped out his wand much to Jamie's amazement. "Oculus reparo," he said with a quick tap of the tip of the beautiful wand onto the screen. There was a sort of fizzle then a quick snap and the phone's screen blinked back into place, displaying the time just as Jamie had wanted: 7:59

"Agrgghhhh!" he screamed. "I'm late!" He snatched for the phone from the other and pocketed it, dashing it away and yelling his thanks to the stranger before he tore his map out from his book bag attempted to read it.

First block: Magical History with Professor Binns

His first class was hardly a success, and the old ghost was utterly unamused by his tardiness on the very first day. To make matter's worse Jamie let out a frightful yelp upon seeing the ghastly sight of the transparent apparition. The rest of the class snickered at him as he sat complacently in the back of the room, ears hot and nose read.

Jamie had been so excited to get to class and begin learning, but history was hardly his favorite subject to begin with, and the basics on a history of magic was not quiet as excited as he was hoping. There was just something so terribly boring and somber about the way the teacher droned on and on.

He sighed as the bells chimed and he was finally free from the monotoned voice that would probably haunt him for the rest of the day.

He felt alone as his classmates departed in sets of twos and threes. It was only his first day, so he hardly had any opportunity to properly make a friend. For a few seconds he thought back on that boy in the courtyard. That would have been a good opportunity, but he sort of blew it by yelling in his face and dashing away in some frantic hurry.

"Hey," there was that voice again, from beside him now in the hallway as he walked along to with his schedule held up to his nose.

Again Jamie was startled, and again Jamie fumbled what was in his hands. This time, however, the individual beside him caught the bit of paper before he could fully flutter to the ground. "You're kind of jumpy, aren't you?" came a cool laugh that almost made Jamie shudder.

"I'm..." Jamie was caught off guard after he finally caught a good glimpse at this stranger. He was, well he was beautiful. How had he not noticed before that the boy's hair was white as snow? "I'm not jumpy. You just keep startling me," he sniffed as he quickly adverted his gaze from the harming Gryffindor.

"Is your phone thing fixed now?" inquired the white haired boy as he stepped a little closer to Jamie.

"I think so," replied the brunette as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped the screen with his finger.

"Wow! That's so cool. No wander or anything. I'm Jack, by the way, nice to meet you," he said as he watched Jamie poke at the various apps that he had on his home screen.

Jamie looked up at the boy and smiled. "I'm Jamie."

"Say, you're kind of cute for a first year. We should go out on a date sometime. You're just my type," Jack snickered as he patted the top of Jamie's head.

The poor young man could not tell if this individual was being serious or not. He waved the other's hand away and sniffed. "That's. Isn't that sort of wrong?" he asked naively.

"Why would it be wrong? You're cute. Do you think I'm cute?"

"Well, kind of," Jamie mumbled. He pointed to his own head of brown hair, "I think it's your hair. It makes you look cool," he admitted honestly.

"Ha! That's pretty great. Everyone in my year thinks I'm weird for it," Jack said as he skipped forward and crossed his hand behind his back whilst he walked ahead of Jamie. "I'm a third year, but don't let that scare you off. I can help you out, you know, on homework and stuff. I'd be happy to. When I saw you get selected for Ravenclaw, I really do think you were pretty cute," he said as he twisted backwards and faced Jamie whilst he walked backwards.

Jamie blushed but allowed the older boy to the privilege of viewing it. "Er," was unfortunately all that he could manage despite being flattered by Jack's comment.

"Say you'll give me just one date?" asked Jack.

"Okay," Jamie agreed softly as he smiled. "But if you turn into a creep I'm backing out."

"Ha-ha, deal," chuckled Jack as he twisted around again and synced up with Jamie's strides beside him. "Can I show you the way to your next class? I have a few extra minutes before I have to hurry off to mine." he asked with such a sly charm.

"Are you going to carry my books too?" Jamie laughed jokingly as he pictured those sorts of corny scenes from the movies.

"Sure," Jack said without missing a beat. He pulled Jamie's shoulder bag off of him and slung it over his own slender shoulder, flashing a daring smile at Jamie as he gave him a wink.

First day and he already had a magical boyfriend. He wasn't sure if he should be proud or shocked, but he giggled nonetheless.
