Ranka paced in front of the trees where the door had once appeared and was most likely going to appear again.
"Please," he said over and over, "Please don't do this. Don't take my daughter."
"Father," said Haruhi's soft voice from behind.
Ranka turned around and realized Haruhi had arrived.
"Haruhi," he said softly, "What happened to you?"
"I'm ready to do what it is I have to do," said Haruhi looking up to the sky. Ranka looked up too and realized it was getting dark.
"No, No!" he said running over and hugging his daughter, "No I won't let you do this! I won't!"
"Father," said Haruhi, "It's okay. I'm okay with this. I don't blame you. I love you too much for that. Please let me go and do this. Let me ease your pain. I'm ready."
"But I'm not!" said Ranka, "I'm not ready for this!"
"Please Dad let me go," said Haruhi, "I promise you'll get to see Mom in heaven and I need someone to let her know that I love her and you." At that Ranka let go of his daughter and looked at her in shock.
"No," he said in despair.
"Haru-Chan!" said Hunny running up behind her along with Mori, "Haru-Chan stop! Stop, Tama-Chan and the others are bringing Ai back! She can help you I'm sure!" said Hunny.
"No," said Haruhi, "this is my time." She turned to look at her two friends, "Thank you for trying to protect me. You two are good friends, just like the others. I will always cherish you." She turned and stared to head to the trees. However it soon started to become really windy. Haruih looked up and saw the helicopter coming down.
"Haruhi!" she heard Tamaki call out, "Haruhi stop! we're coming!"
The minute the helicopter landed, Tamaki, Kyoya and the twins raced to her.
"Haruhi!" Tamaki shouted running to her, "Haruhi you don't have to do this! We may have found a way to save you! We found her! We found Ai, look!" He pointed to the helicopter as Ai herself got out along with her three followers.
Haruhi walked over to Ai and stood in front of her.
"You've come back," she said, "why?"
"Your friends were most instant that I come to try and save you from your fate," said Ai.
"But don't you know? If I take your place as Hell Girl you'll finally be free. Your soul may be given another chance to heaven," said Haruhi. Everyone was silent for a moment.
"How did you know that?" asked Wanyūdō. Haruhi looked over at him.
"I felt it," said Haruhi, "With me in your place Ai will be allowed a new chance at life. What she chooses to do with it will be up to her."
"But will happen to you Haruhi?!" asked Tamaki.
"I don't know what my future holds but I know I'm ready to face it," said Haruhi. She walked back to the trees and knelt down in front of them.
"What is she doing now?" asked Kaoru
"I'm waiting," said Haruhi, "That's all we can do now, wait."
"Well what do we do in the meantime?" asked Hikaru.
"Did you know you were going to be given a chance at a new life in all of this Mistress?" asked Hone.
"No I did not," said Ai with her usual unemotional face.
"So our choices at this point are to either let Ai have a chance to live a happy life and have another chance at heaven or make her continue to be the hell girl so Haruhi can be saved huh?" asked Kyoya.
"But what about us?" asked Hikaru.
"Yeah Haruhi's been using us. Do we still have a choice in all of this?" asked Kaoru.
"Yes, said both Ai and Haruhi.
"I would never make you all join me in all of this. I'm sorry got you involved in the first place," said Haruhi.
"What would we have to do if we did decide to go with her?" asked Tamaki.
"When the red door opens you'll have to follow me through and you'll be allowed to serve me," said Haruhi.
"But then there is also a chance you'll never be allowed in heaven. You too could be stuck as you are for all eternity," said Ai.
"If you really want to do as you all claim you will you better figure out that now before the doors open," said Haruhi still kneeling in front of the trees.
"How long do we have?" asked Tamaki, "Before that happens?"
"At least an hour," said Kyoya looking at his watch.
"What should we do?" asked Tamaki.
"Hey Boss," said Kaoru.
"If it's alright with you, we'd like a chance to have a moment alone," said Hikaru.
"If you want to go ahead," said Kyoya as the twins walked off.
"I need some time alone too," said Hunny.
"Go ahead," said Tamaki, "Maybe it'll give us a chance to figure out what is the best solution to all of this." Both Hunny and Mori walked off together. Tamaki looked over at Kyoya who also looking conflicted.
"Kyoya?"he said.
"I need to find me a place I can get a better signal on my phone. Excuse me real fast," he said walking off.
"Sure," said Tamaki. He walked over and stood next to Ranka as the two continued to observe Haruhi in her current state.
"You know what she told me?" said Ranka sadly, "She told me I was going to go to Heaven and that when I saw my wife to let her know Haruhi loves her." He turend away and started to cry again when he happened to again notice Ai still standing with her own group.
"You," he said walking over to the girl, "Do you have anything to do this?"
"No I do not," said Ai, "I knew a while ago she was going to replace me but there was nothing I could do then."
"Well what will you do with yourself once she takes your place? Assuming we don't get a chance to stop her?" asked Ranka. Ai was silent for a moment.
"I do not know," said Ai, "I never thought I'd have a chance to be free. Even when I was a little girl being sent to be sacrificed I was doom to never live a joyful life."
"Sacrificed?" said Ranka, "You were suppose to be a sacrifice? You poor thing!" He actually reached out and put his hand on the girl's shoulders. "I really wish there was a way to save you but at the same time I don't want to lose my daughter! I'm sorry."
"I understand," Ai assured him.
"Hey Hikaru, are you okay?" Kaoru asked once he and his brother were alone.
"Yeah?" asked Hikaru.
"What do you think will happen to Mom and Dad if we were to simply disappear?" asked Kaoru.
"I doubt they'd even notice," said Hikaru.
"Do you still think we should join Haruhi then? Forever living in Hell helping taking people there should they contact Haruhi to do such a thing?"
"I've been feeling that way since beginning," said Hikaru, "What about you?"
"I think I'm going to be okay with it," said Kaoru, "Assuming it comes down to that. We may still have a chance to see if we can keep Haruhi from going through all of this."
"Yeah, but first," said Hikaru pulling out his phone, "Mom Dad it's me Hikaru and I'm with Kaoru. We just called to let you know we love you."
"However if you get this message it means we've decided to move on with our lives and as a result you may never see us again," said Kaoru.
"But please trust us and know we are making right choice for us," they said together, "Good-bye."
"I hope they're not too upset about all of this," said Hikaru as he hung up the phone.
"Takashi, do you really want to do this?" asked Hunny as he and Mori walked around grounds.
"Hmm," said Mori. He wasn't sure if he could really answer that question.
"Well I do if it means I can be with Haru-Chan forever," said Hunny, "I'm ready to do this. However I don't want you to go along with this if you're just doing this to protect me! I want you to make the right choice for you!"
Hmm," said Mori again. He pulled out his phone. Hunny could hear someone pick it up and realized it was Satoshi, Mori's little brother.
"Hey Taka where are you?" he asked.
"Satoshi, I need to let you know, I love you. You're a good brother and I know you'll take care of the family in the future. Please tel Mom and Dad I love them too even if they never see me again, said Mori.
"Taka what's going on?" asked Satoshi.
"Good-bye Satoshi," was all Mori would say before hanging up himself. Hunny watched his cousin looking upset but trying to keep a brave face.
"That's a good idea," said Hunny as he too pulled out his phone.
"What is it Mitsukuni?" asked Yasuchika over the phone.
"Hi Yasuchika," said Hunny.
"Why are you calling me by my full name for once?" asked Yasuchika.
"I just wanted to let you know I love you and I want you to be proud of the notion of being head of the family. Can you let Mom and Dad I love them too? I'll always think of you," said Hunny.
"What are you going on about?" asked Yasuchika right as Hunny hanged up.
"Well that was hard but at least we can say we did it," said Hunny.
"Yeah," said Mori.
Kyoya shifted through his phone until he came to what he was trying find, a picture of his sister Fuyumi. She was the only reason he'd want to consider staying here on earth rather follow after Haruhi. He dialed up his phone.
"Kyoya, why are you calling me up so late?" asked Fuyumi.
"Fuyumi, I never told you, you were a good sister. I should have told you that sooner," said Kyoya.
"Well thank you Kyoya, but what's this sudden call?" asked Fuyumi.
"I maybe leaving to some place where you'll never be able to see me again. You're the only person I could think of that I'd want to say good-bye," said Kyoya.
"What, Kyoya, what's going on?!" asked Fuyumi in alarm.
"Good-bye Fuyumi," said Kyoya as he hung up on his sister. He looked down at his phone. He tossed it off to the side.
"I don't know if I'll ever need that again but I'm ready to give it up," he said. He looked up to the sky and turning to night and the moon was starting to come out, a red moon.
"Haruhi!" he said as he hurried back to where his friend was.
Tamaki paced back and forth behind Haruhi as the two of them waited. He wondered if he should consider calling to say good-bye to his family if he went along with Haruhi.
'I would at least want to say good-bye to my mother I suppose, but I don't know where she is,' he thought.
"Haruhi, if we do go along with you with this, is there anyway we can contact any family afterwards?" he asked.
"Your mother will be fine don't worry," said Haruh.
"How do you know that?" asked Tamaki.
"I just do," said Haruhi as she stood up, 'It's time."
"Huh?" said Tamaki as he saw the trees start to blow around until the flickering image of the door appearing.
"Look, it's happening!" said Hone as she saw the door appearing. Ranka whirled around to see door coming.
"No!" he said running to his daughter, "no not yet please!"
"Are we too late?!" Hikaru and Kaoru both shouted as they came running.
"Has anything happened?" asked Hunny as he and Mori also came running up.
"Has the door appeared?" asked Kyoya
"Look!" said Tamaki pointing to arch here the door was coming into a better view.
"I won't let you go Haruhi! I won't!" Ranka kept saying pulling her back. Haruhi turned and looked at him.
"It's time Dad," she said pushing him away. At that the doors opened. Fire could be seen coming from it.
"Are you ready?" asked an unseen but powerful voice.
"Yes," said Haruhi as she moved to the door. However at the last second Ai jumped out in front of her.
"Look Ai's going to stop her!" said Tamaki happily.
"No," Ai said, "You don't have to go. I will continue to go on as the hell girl."
"I guess it looks like Miss Ai will remain as she is," said Hone.
Haruhi put her hands on Ai's shoulders.
"You do have a good soul Ai, no matter what anyone else says," she said, "You should have a chance to know happiness. I made a deal with the god of hell that you get a second chance in exchange I do this without a fight."
"When did you make a deal with him?!" asked Ranka.
"When you left me alone in the apartment this morning," said Haruhi. She turned and made Ai go to towards Ranka. "Take care of her Dad. Help her to know happiness." She looked over to the group, "You three as well are free. Try and live in happiness."
"We're free?" said Ren.
"What?" said Ranka looking down at Ai. Haruhi headed into the door.
"Haruhi wait!" said Tamaki. Haruhi turned to look at him and her other friends.
"There is no going back now," she said.
"We know," said Tamaki, "But we're ready, right guys?"
"Yes!" said the twins.
"Yes," said Hunny.
"Yeah," said Mori.
"Yes," said Kyoya.
"You better hurry then," said Haruhi. At that she walked through the door and disappeared.
"Haruhi!" said Ranka sadly. The doors could bee seen starting to close.
"Well?" said Tamaki looking at the other hosts.
"Let's go," said Kyoya. The six men all raced fast and dove into the doors right before they shut all together. The minute they did the doors themselves disappeared and there was no trace of it or the hosts.
"Haruhi!" said Ranka,"She's really gone isn't she?" He looked down at Ai. She looked up at him and for some reason her eyes were no longer red.
"So," said Ranka, "I'm required to look after you from now on huh?"
"You don't have to," said Ai. Ranka thought about it for a moment.
"Well it's not like I have anyone else who needs me," he said at last, "That include you three as well."
"Us?" said Hone.
"Family is what you make of it after all," said Ranka.
"Ai, you'll be late for school," said Ranka.
"I'm coming," said Ai walking out in a light blue uniform, "Do I look okay in this?"
"You look great!" said Ranka, "Now don't be scared! I'm sure you'll fit in fine."
"Okay," said Ai heading to the door.
"Do want me to walk you to school?" asked Ranka.
"No thanks," said Ai, "Good-bye Ranka."
"Bye dear," said Ranka with a smile.
"Well look at you," said Wanyūdō as Ai came out of Ranka's apartment and he was coming out of his own dressed in regular clothes, "Off to school huh?"
"Yes," said Ai.
"I don't see why I have to do," said Ren walking out in his own uniform.
"It's what normal boys do after all," said Wanyūdō.
"Whatever Dad, let's just get going," said Ren heading to the stairs. Ai followed after him.
"Have a good day Mistress," said Wanyūdō.
"You don't have to keep calling me that," said Ai as she kept walking past.
"Did Ai and Ren leave?" Hone asked walking out of her own apartment in work clothes.
"Yes they're on their way to school," said Wanyūdō.
"You know, I grateful to that man for giving us a place to live and a start at a new life but I don't know if I can get use to this," said Hone.
"Just give it time," said Wanyūdō, "You'll never known what the future holds."
"I don't know if I'm going to like going to school like this," said Ren, "I should have just gotten a job or something."
"You still can you know," said Ai.
"Nah, someone has to look after you," said Ren.
"Hmm," said Ai. A slow smile started to appear on her face. She was getting more and more happy with the idea of living a normal life for once.
"I'm telling you the hell correspondence will work! It's the only way you'll be able to get revenge," she suddenly heard another girl saying to her friends.
'It never end does it?' she thought.
"You coming?" Ren asked.
"Yes," said Ai.
"Oh pitiful shadow," she said to herself.
"You know this place doesn't seem too bad," said Hikaru as he and six of the hosts all sat on the bank of the lake looking out at it.
"Yeah it's kind of peaceful here," said Kaoru
"Well maybe this isn't' exactly hell but a special place we get to live," said Tamaki.
"I could see that," said Kyoya.
"I think we can get use to this," said Hunny.
"Yeah," said Mori.
"Where's Haruhi by the way?" asked Tamaki.
"She's in her hut," said Kyoya.
Haruhi sat in her room just staring off into space.
"Are you really happy with what you've done?" asked the figure behind the door near her.
"Yes," said Haruhi, "In a way."
"Good," said the figure, "You have a message by the way." Haruhi turned and looked at the computer in her room.
"Alright, thank you Grandmother," said Haruhi moving to the computer.
"Do you think we'll ever try to leave?" Hunny asked.
"Who knows," said Kyoya, "Something tells me some of us were doom to wind up here anyway." The twins both smirked at that.
Just then they heard Haruhi clearing her voice.
"Haruhi," said Tamaki turning to look at her.
"We have work to do," said Haruhi.
