Vanellope buried herself in her sponge-cake bed, crying her eyes out. She thought that she had finally found a friend, someone who actually cared about her and accepted her despite her condition. But she was wrong; she was just a pawn in his plan to get his stupid medal back, wanting nothing to do with her once he got it.
"There she is!" someone shouted. Vanellope looked up to see that the cops had found the secret entrance into Diet Cola Mountain. She tried to run away, but they caught her and locked her in a glitch-proof cage as they drove to King Candy's castle. When they arrived, they threw her in the fungeon and locked her up in glitch-proof chains as King Candy walked in. "We captured the glitch your highness."
"Excellent. Now if you don't mind, I would like a private word." The cops left as he approached her. "Well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite little glitch."
Vanellope looked up and glared at him. "What do you want with me exactly?" she asked in a low voice. "Why do you hate me so much?"
"Hate? What makes you think that I hate you?"
"Why else would you do this to me then? Why is it such a big deal whether I race or not?"
"As I've tried to explain to you, I do this to protect both you and the game."
"You liar."
"Listen to me you little brat!" Candy spat in her face as he grabbed the neck of her sweatshirt practically pressing her face against his. "You're nothing but a freak! If it weren't for the fact that you can't leave this game, I would have had you exiled a long time ago. But I suppose an eternity in chains isn't a bad alternative."
"That's not true. I'll be out of here in no time."
"What, you think your 'friend' is going to save you? Did you really think that someone, especially a bad guy, would ever actually like you? He's a bad guy, a monster on the inside and out, he can't be trusted. Why else would he stop caring about you as soon as he got his medal and abandon you?" As much as she hated to admit it, she couldn't help but think that he was right about Ralph. "Although, I understand how lonely a life without friends can be. After a while, a man needs more companionship than simply trophies and fans."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that with you forced to stay here with me, we'll be each other's friend. I know things aren't the best between us, but give it some time. I know we'll warm up to each other." He ran his finger down her cheek as he said this, causing her to shake away from his touch.
"Ew, of course not you sicko!"
"Well it's not like you have much of a choice my dear." He circled around her, placing a hand on her shoulder and stroking her hair, despite her coiling away from him. "As long as you're here, you'll never race, and you will be mine forever. Besides, capturing you is more of a reward than any trophy I could ever win in a race."
Candy walked away from her, heading out of the room. "You hypocrite!" Vanellope shouted, stopping him in his tracks.
"I'm sorry," he chuckled, "What did you just call me?"
"You heard me! You are so against the idea of me racing and you constantly pick on me and treat me like an outcast, yet you say that you want to keep me and be my 'friend.' So I ask again, what do you want with me exactly?"
Candy turned around with a more serious, almost sad, look on his face, as if he wanted to tell her something but couldn't bring himself to do so. They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity despite it only being a few moments. Suddenly Candy's face hardened before turning back and leaving Vanellope in the dark, empty room. Once she was alone again, she hung her head, crying silent tears.
