My Christmas present to all potterheads out there.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, blah blah blah- I'm racing against time here.
Neville stepped out of the Gryffindor common room to be greeted with one Luna Lovegood doing some sort of...jig?
"Happy Christmas, Neville." She hadn't even bothered to look at him as she continued her strange dance, holding two... what are those things, anyway?- in her hands.
"Happy Christmas, Luna..." he began slowly, staring at her strangely. "Uh...what are you doing?"
"Oh, it appears that nargles have dangerously infested Hogwarts this year," she said, like whatever that just came out from her mouth -or whatever she was doing, for that matter- wasn't weird at all. "This special dance daddy taught me will prevent me from getting harmed."
"Right..." he didn't even want to know what nargles were. "And you're just going to do this dance...all day?"
"Of course not. Just for ten minutes every half hour until midnight." Suddenly she turned to him. "You should learn it too, you know?" she exclaimed. "What if the nargles decide to claim you as their next victim? They're extremely dangerous!"
"I think I'll be fine, Luna." He didn't exactly know what he should say in this sort of situation...
She frowned for a second. "Then... at least take one of these, just in case." She handed him one of those...seriously, what the hell are those? "They'll keep you safe from the nargles, although they aren't as effective as the dance..."
He held that...thing in his hands and looked at it for a second, wondering what to make of it. "...thanks, Luna. It means a lot."
She gave him a smile, abruptly stopping her dance. "The ten minutes are up," she announced. "I'm going to to the Great Hall for some pudding. Merry Christmas, Neville." She turned around and skipped away, subconciously playing with the...still-don't-know-what-it-is in her hands.
Neville watched her figure as it slowly disappeared, holding that nargles-charm-thingy tightly in his hands, cheeks a little pink, secretly thinking that it was the best Christmas present he had gotten all day.
Merry Christmas, all potterheads and others. I will you all a good year.
