Well, guys, this is it. It's taken me over two years but this is the end to Death's Charm. Thank you so so much for taking the time to read my story! I am also on Wattpad (URL on my profile page) and my stories there could use some love. Thank you again!
"Father, I'm going out with my friends." Death glanced up from his cup of tea and tilted his head.
Kid stood before him, a bored look in his gold eyes. Death knew better. His son was excited, eager to play basketball with Death Scythe's girl and White Star's son, the last of the Star Clan, and their weapon partners.
"Okay~! Have fun, Kiddo!" He chirped, waving cheerfully as his son departed with Liz and Patti, his twin pistols.
Death Scythe crossed his arms and smiled wistfully. "I'm glad he was finally able to make friends. Especially with my Maka."
The Shinigami nodded his head. He was glad, too. For a while, Kid kept to himself but his two partners really cracked open his shell. Ophelia would have been proud. His mood soured somewhat at the thought of his wife.
It had been ten years since her death. Kid didn't remember her, which was for the best; Death didn't want his memories of his mother be only of what she had become and not who she was. He sometimes asked about her but Death didn't have the heart to tell Kid what had truly happened to her. Instead, he told him she had gotten sick and died, which wasn't entirely a lie.
"Are the preparations ready?" He asked Death Scythe.
Spirit nodded and smiled. "Yes, sir. The DWMA Foundation Party is all set for this weekend."
Death smiled behind his mask. "Good. Let's leave behind another scary era and look to a good one."
