Rin stirred awake, still in the hospital. After his freak out with hearing about Satan, the doctor wanted to keep him there just a little bit longer to monitor his mental state. It wasn't exactly his job description, but there was no way Rin was going to recommend a therapist after the ordeal he went though. Or...didn't go through.

Yukio stayed by his side the entire time, though others came as well. After Suguro left to tell everyone the news, Shiemi stayed, though when she left Shima came over to keep him company. Even Konekomaru came, and Kamiki showed up for a few minutes before leaving.

Rin was glad to realize he finally got a minute alone with Yukio. His twin brother was sitting next to the bed reading from a magazine while Rin was 'asleep'.

"I know you're awake, Rin, I can hear your breathing." Yukio commented, eyes not leaving the magazine.

"Is that what you do with your spare time? Listen to me breathe?" Rin smirked, his throat raspy from the tube being in his throat. Even though it had been about two days, his throat was still sore from it. The bright side of it, he got all the ice cream he wanted.

"If you don't talk to me, yes." Yukio said with a sigh, placing the magazine down on the bedside table next to the machines that were still connected to Rin.

"You want to know about the coma…" Rin trailed off. He looked up at Yukio, pressing the button to make the bed sit up that he had been playing with for the past two days. "Well, I want to know some things as well."

"You tell me I tell you," Yukio said. "What happened while you were in the coma? Did you know what was going on? Did you...feel anything?"

"When I was in my coma…I had woken up. I was in a different place…a different world. They told me that I had just woken up from a coma and…and that the exorcists weren't real." Rin began.

"What?" Yukio asked.

"Just let me tell it to you." Rin said. He continued on to explain his endeavor with the other world, and told Yukio that he even believed that it existed in some way.

"How did you get out?" Yukio finally asked.

"Well, I hated living in a world without exorcists and I heard…that if you killed yourself in a dream…that you woke up…" Rin trailed off.

"You didn't.." Yukio's eyes widened.

"I did," Rin sighed. "I killed myself with a knife in an insane asylum right in front of you. But it brought me back here. Back here with you and the exorcists."

"Is that what you would have done if the exorcists had never been real?!" Yukio suddenly shouted.

"W-What? Of course not!" Rin shouted back, his throat in searing pain as he did so.

"You would have been so upset about Dad's death that you would have killed yourself."

"Dad would have never died if the exorcists didn't exist!" Rin shouted, standing up out of bed. The wires on his tugged, Rin feeling pain from that as well. He decided the best thing to do to get out of the hospital would be to stay in bed, so he got right back in the bed and laid there.

"Rin…Dad would have died someday, even if it wasn't from the Satan…" Yukio said calmly, placing a hand on Rin's.

"We would have never existed if it wasn't for Satan…" Rin trailed off. He looked down at his lap that was clad in a hospital gown. He could see his legs from it, wrinkling his nose and turning away.

"And if it wasn't for Dad we would have been killed." Yukio said. He could see the beginnings of tears in Rin's eyes, though before he could comment on it Rin had decided to change the subject.

"Okay, I told you mine, you tell me yours." Rin said, his voice breaking a little, though Yukio decided to ignore it in order to keep Rin's pride intact.

"What do you want to know?" Yukio asked. There were so many things that Rin could want to know, he didn't know where to begin.

"What happened to get me in a coma? What did you do when I was gone? Did I ever wake up in the middle of the coma?" Rin fired these questions a million miles a minute, and Yukio could only widen his eyes and try to catch all of it.

"Okay, okay, one at a time. You really don't remember what happened to put you in a coma?" Yukio asked. Rin shook his head. "Alright, well, we we're fighting Satan, and we finished.."

"Don't ever do that to me again, dummies!" Shiemi shouted, hugging the Okumura twins tightly to herself. The two could only smile, relieved that no one was hurt.

"Of course not, Shiemi, we're sorry for scaring you." Yukio apologized. Though, Rin was feeling the weight of that gunshot that Satan had fired at him. He hid it for a long moment before everything went black for him.

"Rin? Rin!" Yukio shouted, running to his brother just before his head hit the concrete of the ground. Everyone rushed Rin to the hospital. His eyes were still open, though he couldn't see anything. He wasn't responding either, which was what had Yukio worried.

Yukio noticed that Rin's pulse was fading right as they entered the hospital that was set up for exorcists. This was when Rin began to seize as well. Everyone was rushed out of the room, only doctors allowed, and they had to wait.

Yukio had been sent out to wait as well, being family, and waited for the news. When the doctors finally came, it was revealed that Rin was in a coma, and there was little to no chance of him coming out of it. Shiemi tried to comfort Yukio, though he didn't want her comforting words and thoughts. He just wanted to be alone with his brother while he had the chance.

Months after Rin had been in the coma, the doctors had come to him about pulling the plug; that Rin was really just taking up space. Yukio wouldn't hear of it. He knew his brother would find a way out of it; he always did.

Everyone had come accustomed to taking shifts at the hospital with Yukio, though their attempts to get Yukio to separate from his brother went unheeded. Yukio only left to use the bathroom, shower, and brush his teeth. He didn't even leave for food, everyone else brought it for him. It was like they were chaperoning both of the Okumura brothers.

All Yukio could think about was that he had failed his brother. That he had been fighting with him so much without seeing the most important thing. His brother would be gone someday, and he needed to cherish the time he had left with him. He didn't know when that day would be, or when the day that he would go into a mission and never come back would come.

He already lost his Father, there was no way Yukio was losing Rin too. Being there for him seemed like the best thing to do. Though, as every day came, Yukio was closer and closer to pulling the plug. He didn't want to lose his brother, but he didn't want him to live the rest of his life hooked up to machines either. Plus it would get expensive, and Yukio didn't have that kind of money coming out of him, and he doubted Mephisto would step in to help like he always did.

Though, right when Yukio was at his brink, right when he was going to tell the doctor to pull the plug, Rin jolted awake, and suddenly everything was okay again. Suddenly everything was better, and Yukio couldn't be any happier. Suddenly Rin was back to his smart ass self, telling jokes and getting depressed right on cue.

"That's all of what happened while I was gone? Really?" Rin asked. Suddenly he realized what Yukio just told him. "You were going to pull the plug on me?!"

Yukio could only smirk. "Well, you're back aren't you?" he laughed as he spoke, though when he thought Rin was just going to pout, he began to laugh as well. The two brothers continued to laugh until Suguro walked in.

"What's so funny?" Suguro asked. The brothers looked to him with identical smiles on their faces.

"Nothing at all."

This didn't seem like a complete chapter to me, but I'm posting it anyway in hopes to finish this. I hope it you for reading throughout all of the hardships of making this dream a reality, as this story really was Just a Dream.
