A/N: We have reached chapter 80. Now that Tomoka has spent the night at Zoey's place, it is now Shampoo's turn. Also, should I add more Koihime Musou characters to this arc? I know I already said that, but I want to know... Ah hell I will add more Koihime Musou characters and my new pal Ghost is gonna help me. : ) Anyway, here is Moonstone's second quest.
Update October : Bad news, Ghost is taking a break from editing some of my chapters on my Dot Hack fic, and I started a new fanfic. But I will finish this story this year and the next.
Chapter 80: Moon Knife
Zoey was at one of Tokyo's parks. She was reflecting on what has happened so far. She and her allies have gain Lios' trust, but before that, the Cursed Wave has spread its evil virus into her world and turning The World into a living virus. There are only four signs to defeat to save not only The World, the real world, but her best friend Bridget and the other comatose victims.
'We're getting closer to our goal. We got to hurry before CC Corp destroys The World's servers and all that hard work would be for nothing...' Zoey has a look of determination on her face.
Suddenly, she noticed Molly and Mimi running up to her in worry.
"Zoey! Bad news! Shion Middle and High School has been shut down!" Mimi panicked, wondering how long it will take for the school to reopen so they won't have to make up for lost time or worse, summer school next summer.
"Some say it is because of the virus." Molly nodded.
"I know. I watched the news about that. But don't worry. We won't have to make up for summer school or lost studies. The news say that school work have been suspended till the virus is stopped." Zoey closed her eyes and smiled.
"Maybe it's because of Helba. She infected The World with that virus." Mimi wondered, still looking worried.
Zoey shook her head. "No. It's not Helba, but something else."
"B-But the news say that Helba is responsible for what's happening to the comatose victims and computers acting up. Don't tell me you trust her?!" Mimi stammered.
"Helba is not that bad once you get to know her. She's helping me save Bridget, the comatose victims, The World and the real world. The news can lie to you sometimes." Zoey giggled.
"Huh? What makes you say that, Zoey?" Molly questioned, placing her hands on her hips looking at her best friend in worry.
Zoey told her friends everything, about Aura, the powers of Data Drain, the Cursed Wave and the friends she met, not including the ones from anime and the past. It would freak them out too much.
"...So this Aura girl gave you and this Kite person the powers of these abilities called Data Drain to hack gates and rewrite monster data. And Helba is helping you and your online friends on saving Bridget and the other comatose victims by fighting a evil force mentioned in a epic poem?" Mimi asked, starting to feel hope has return to her.
"Yeah... You don't have to believe me if you want. But what I said is true. I'm fighting for not only Bridget and the victims' sake, but for the fate of both worlds. And with Kite and my online friends' help, I'm gonna stop the Cursed Wave from destroying both The World and the real world and claiming more innocent victims." Zoey raised her fist in the air with a brave look.
"...We believe you, Zoey. If anyone can save both worlds and the people..." Molly smiled.
Mimi finished the sentence by saying "It's you! We believe in you! Make the Cursed Wave pay for what they did to Bridget and other players!" Mimi cheered.
"Thanks you guys. And I'm gonna do whatever it takes to help Aura. I got to go, see ya!" Zoey winked as she ran back home.
"Go get them, Zoey!" Molly and Mimi cheered.
As soon as Zoey got home, she noticed a cat at her doorway. Curious, she leaned down and picked it up.
"Aw. What's a stray kitten like yourself doing here? I bet you're hungry. Let's go inside... Eh?" She noticed some bags next to the kitten. Shrugging to herself, she picked them up and went to her room.
As soon as she got into her room, the cat leaped out of her arms and went into the bathroom.
"H-Huh?! Come back! I can't have you... wha?" Zoey was even more confused as she heard water coming from her bathroom.
Curious, she walked into her bathroom and saw Shampoo, naked and rinsing herself off.
Zoey blushed redder than a tomato.
"Um... Who are you and where is the cat that scamper off?" Zoey meekly started to say as Shampoo was looking for a towel.
The cat Mew Mew quickly gave her a towel.
It was then the cat girl from Nerima spoke by saying "Is house where Zoey lives?"
'Wait... that weird manner of saying words...' Zoey thought as her eyes widen in shock.
"Are you... Yue Jie?" Zoey gasped.
The cat girl nodded in response with a smile and said "Yue Jie is named Shampoo! Shampoo comes from Nerima to big city Tokyo to help Zoey in fighting evil Cursed Wave and save computers who in life support at Nerima."
"So the cat that scamper off..." The cat Mew Mew started to figure out who that cat was.
"Yes! Cat was Shampoo! Shampoo turns into cat by cold water due to cursed spring." The second cat girl nodded.
"I see..." Zoey nodded in response. Then she added "Well, my parents won't mind if I have another person staying over at our place. So make yourself at home." Zoey smiled.
"Sugoi! Shampoo likes Zoey already!" Shampoo's cat ears popped out in excitement. "What should Shampoo and Zoey do next?"
"Well, I'm planning on helping Moonstone get some weapon from a dungeon he found it in. So let's help him." Zoey closed her eyes and smiled. Shampoo nodded in agreement as she got dressed and got out her laptop and both of them logged into The World. Zoey emailed Kite, BlackRose, Tsusaka, Mimiru, Wiseman, Miharu, and Yukinari about Moonstone's quest.
Upon arriving in Sigma Server, they met up with Moonstone and formed their parties as they went to Sigma Dying Grieving Battlefield.
During their dungeon raid, Zoey and Kite decided to chat with Moonstone.
"So... Moonstone, what do you do besides playing The World?" Zoey asked the Twin Blade,
"...I jogged during the day..." Moonstone said stoically.
"What else?" Mimiru asked him, a bit curious about this Moonstone. Upon meeting Moonstone, he reminded her of a annoying player who almost looks like the mysterious Twin Blade. At first, she was about to dislike him, but when she realized this Moonstone is the exact opposite of the player she hates, she liked him immediately.
"...I see a dog every time I take the route to jog..." Moonstone shrugged as he slashed a Sled Dog King to pieces, earning him some EXP.
"Yu Jie finds a little interesting." Shampoo commented as she used her new sword to slash three Skull Heroes to defeat them. The monsters disappeared after they were defeated.
"And then what?" Tsusaka asked, wiping some virtual sweat from his forehead.
"...That's it... I repeat the same routine every day..." Moonstone told them calmly.
"Are... Are you trying to get stronger, Mister Moonstone?" Miharu asked cheerfully. Moonstone said nothing, a blush on his face appeared.
"I think we know why he's training, Miharu." Yukinari told her with a innocent smile. "I bet he's trying to become the world's strongest man."
"...Correct... I was born weak... But as I train, I get stronger and hope to enter Japan's weight lifting tournament... That is my goal..." Moonstone merely nodded.
"But due to the world's current affairs with the Wave infecting computers around the world, I say you have to wait until we defeat the Wave." Wiseman scratched his chin in thought.
"That's a cool dream, Moonstone. I was once into gymnastics and I got really good in a competition. Sadly, I got my gymnastics into second place and quit due to school and work. But I'm gonna train harder to get back into gymnastics." Zoey smiled confidently.
"I hope you succeed, Moonstone. I'm into badminton and I'm aiming to be the best in my school's badminton club." BlackRose smirked as she gave the silent Twin Blade a thumbs up.
"Ah, a cool dream." Kite smiled which made the pink haired Heavy Blade blush a hint of red.
"Eventually, the parties made it to the end and Kite walked up to the Gott Statue treasure chest and opened it. It was a pair of knifes that may be created from moon fragments, hence the Moon Knifes. Kite gave them to Moonstone.
"...Thank you... Here is something for you two..." Moonstone said in gratitude as he gave Kite and Zoey two new twin blades and a sword.
"I... Thank you..." Zoey bowed in gratitude. Kite did the same.
"Until we meet again..." Moonstone smiled underneath his clothes as he logged out. The parties did the same.
