Hi guys. Wow it's been a long time hasn't it? Almost a year. Sorry that you had to wait that long for this story to finally update. Guess being a college student is not as easy as I thought it would. I'm just getting busier and busier by the second. But enough excuses and let me just present you… finally the next installment of Two Lights, One Shadow.

Previously on Two Lights, One Shadow
"They look familiar…" Tetsuko thought, fishing a vanilla flavored Popsicle from the store bag, she peeled the wrapping off and put in inside her mouth.
Akashi was the first one who recovered from their stupor and immediately went after Tetsuko. Grabbing her arm, he pulled her to a stop. The girl was clearly shaken and surprised that she accidentally let go of her popsicle.
Tetsuko's eyes meets Akashi's mismatched ones, she started to squirm free from the redhead but the latter's grip was tight.
"Tetsuko."
Tetsuko abruptly stopped her struggle and looked back at the redhead with a confused look on her face.
"Who are you?"
…
Chapter 3: Don't you remember Me?
Akashi stopped, did he hear it right? Tetsuko just asked him who he was. He could have sworn his ears are playing tricks on him. But judging from the looks from the bluet's cold eyes, she's not playing around.
"What do you mean 'Who are you?"
Tetsuko then pried the redhead's hand from her wrist and stared blankly at him.
"Just as you have heard, who are you? And why do you know my name?"
Akashi thought of it as a sick joke. A small bitter chuckle came out from his throat as he stared eye to eye with his long lost cousin.
"Tetsuko stop this nonsense. This is not funny."
The bluet girl raised an eyebrow and looked at Akashi like he grew another head or something. Did he really think that she was joking around? Hell she didn't know this guy. She has half of her mind to call her driver now and whisk her away from here and away from these weird guys.
"I apologize, but I'm not known to have any sense of humor…" she paused. "I'm not joking. Who are you?"
Right then, the rest of the guys were hurdling behind Akashi and silently listening to the cousin's conversation. Shock was an understatement of the year for the members of the miracles. Their princess is claiming that she doesn't know them. Just what the hell is happening?
"Tetsuchii. You can't be serious right? It's us!" Kise said, taking a small step forward to take a good look at his long time crush. Which in response, Tetsuko took a step backward.
A frown marred her lips while she threw a cold look at each one of the boys. "Do I look like I'm joking? I'm sorry but, I really don't recognize you."
Each word felt like knives being stabbed in Aomine's chest. So this was the feeling that he was getting earlier. The way she looked at him during the class. Her eyes that once held so much feeling back then were not empty. Her eyes held no recognition of any of them.
Kise could only look at Tetsuko in disbelief. This can't be happening.
…
Tetsuko stared at the looks of disbelief and shock in the group's faces. To be honest, she does recognize their faces… She just can't remember who they are. Her mind can't process nor show any clear images in her head. It was always a fuzzy image of a six guys with different hair colors that reminds her of the rainbow.
Maybe she did know them… maybe not. Her memories are just bleak. But she could feel a connection for each one. Like they were once held a huge part of her life. But what?
She was snapped out from her inner musings, when she felt her phone vibrate under her coat. Taking the small device out, she held it close to her ear and answered the call.
It was her father.
…
Akashi was having a hard time processing what just happened. Here they are face to face with their long lost teammate and then this? Tons of scenarios and possibilities roamed the redhead's brilliant mind as he watched his cousin talk quietly on her phone.
Does she really not recognize them?
If yes, then how?
This is not the reunion that he was expecting to have with his cousin and so does the others.
"Hai. I'm sorry… Yes… I am… I'll see you later dad."
Tetsuko hanged her phone and faced the group again. She felt a small pang in her chest just by seeing their faces. Why are they looking at her like that? But as much as she wants to know, she can't stay any longer. Her father wants her to be home right now.
"I apologize, but I must leave. I'm really sorry for not recognizing anyone of you due to my condition." Her eyes then made their way to a certain tanned skin teen that is awfully quite along with the others. She recognized him as his classmates from earlier. Aomine? Maybe she can talk with him in class tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow anytime but just not now.
"Maybe we can talk again some other time?" Tetsuko asked, bowing she bid a quick goodbye and boarded a black sedan that pulled over on the other side of the road.
…
"Just what the hell was that Akashi?" Midorima demanded. The six of them decided to go somewhere else and found themselves inside Maji Burger. They needed to think about what happened earlier.
Kise and Satsu were silent and just settled with sipping their ordered beverages. Too upset about what had occurred. The same could be said to Aomine and Murasakibara. Only Akashi and Midorima manage to keep their composure to at least talk about what happened.
"You were there Shintarou. Do I really need to answer your question?" Akashi sighed.
"I know that. What I'm asking is that why Tsuko didn't recognize us?"
"My guess is the same as yours Shintarou. She didn't recognize us for a reason." Akashi replied, he laced his fingers together and leaned her head over his exposed knuckles.
"You sure are taking this better than we do Akashi." Aomine mumbled.
"And why shouldn't I? If I sulk around like you are doing right now then we won't be able to know just what happened to Tetsuko." Akashi replied.
Aomine gritted his teeth and slammed his hand on the table and glared at Akashi. "Just what are you getting at Akashi? Don't you dare pull off the I-am-better-than-you card on us!"
"I'm not. I'm just stating facts. I'm concerned about my cousin as much as you all are. So…" Akashi replied before returning a glare at the bluet. "Shut your mouth."
Aomine inwardly seethed but stood down. Grumbling he flopped back down on his seat and looked away. Murasakibara placed a reassuring hand on the bluet's shoulder in attempt to calm him down.
"So what now Akachin?" Satsu mumbled, his eyes still strained on the greasy fries on his tray.
Akashi grew silent for a while in thought. "If I recall correctly, Tetsuko said something about not recognizing us due to her condition…"
"Could it be that she forgot about us?" Kise asked.
"Memory loss…" Midorima stated. "It's the only logical and highly possible reason to why she can't recognize us." He looked up to his teammates who he got their full attention. "She probably lost her memories."
…
Kuroko Mansion:
"Tadaima…" Tetsuko called out smiling as she made her way towards their family room where her parent's would most likely be waiting for her.
"Tet-chan welcome home!" her mother; Kuroko Seri greeted her. Kuroko Seri has waist length powder blue hair that she inherited along with her overall looks. From her face shape to their petite frame. Kuroko Tetsuko is like a younger version of her mother.
"Tetsuko." A man wearing a plain white dress shirt emerged from her behind and pressed a kiss on Tetsuko's head. This man is Kuroko Mamoru, Tetsuko's father. He has ebony black hair and the pair of the deepest cerulean eyes that Tetsuko inherited.
"Mom, Dad." Tetsuko greeted back with a smile.
"So how was your first day back in Japanese schooling system?" her dad teasingly asked.
Tetsuko slightly pouted but answered anyway. "It's fine. It was just like I remembered it to be." Tetsuko replied while she plays with her fingers. She was contemplating if she should mention her encounter with those boys earlier.
The look on her face didn't escape her mother's eyes when she took her daughter's hand with hers and squeezed it. "What else? Did something happen?"
Tetsuko pursed her lips into a thin line before answering. If she tell her parents about it, will they be able to answer the question that has been inside her mind ever since she meet those boys?
"Actually yes…" Tetsuko mumbled. Her mom and dad looked at her expectantly urging her to continue. "I was walking around the school area earlier and I stumble in this small convenience store… And it just felt very familiar to me…" she paused. "Like I've been there before, like I've always hanged around that area before."
"Then I meet these guys. They look like they were friends but from different schools. One of them is my classmate. Then there's one guy who grabbed me and called me by name. But I don't know him or rather I can't recognize him."
The Kuroko patriarch looked at his wife forlornly. Something tells him that his daughter just met her former teammates from middle school.
"The guy has bright red hair and different colored eyes." Tetsuko mumbled. "He looks familiar though… well every single one of them are."
"It's just that at first. They only looked familiar. Then my mind would produce these images. Blurred images of guy with the same hair colors, I knew I met them before…" she sighed, her eyes slowly shutting shut while she massages her temple. Forcing to remember stuff like this always brings her the worst migraines.
"It's just I don't know when… where… how…"
Seri and Mamoru looked at their daughter with concern. Seri being the one closest immediately enveloped her baby girl into a hug. It hurt to see their daughter like this, confused, struggling and in pain.
Tetsuko finally succumbed and buried her head on her mother's neck and sobbed silently. Why must she always be this emotional every time she tries to remember something? It's either break down or faint.
"Shss… It's alright baby girl… It's going to be alright…" Seri hushed her daughter while she rubs her back in circles. While her husband held Tetsuko's hand squeezing it reassuringly.
"Why can't I just regain everything back?"
"Darling… Don't push yourself in remembering. It will all come back in time. Just don't push yourself please." Mamoru breathed, letting go of his daughter's hand and proceeds to hug both the most important persons in his life.
"Can I ask if you know them?"
"Of course dear… The guy with the redhead is in fact your cousin. Akashi Seijuurou." Seri smiled as she watch her daughter's eyes glint in slight recognition to the name. This is the only thing that they can do. They can't force Tetsuko to remember things; if they did they would just put her overall health to risk.
"And the rest of those guys if I'm not mistaken are your friends…"
"My friends?"
Then suddenly images of six smiling boys entered her mind. Everyone of them were smiling at her, their different colored hair that strongly reminds her of a rainbow.
"Tetsuchii~"
"Tsuko"
"Tsukochin"
"Tetsu-chan!"
"Tetsuko"
"Tetsu…"
Tetsuko smiled.

And done! A short chapter I know. But I managed to pull this off. I've been thinking of a new way of approaching all my active stories here in ff. I mean I can update more frequent if I make shorter chapters like this rather than making a long one which might just take forever for me to write. So I'm still weighing my options about this one. What do you guys think? Shorter chapters but less waiting time or longer chapters that well... you know...
But that aside! What do you think about the chapter? I know there will tons of questions after this and I'm willing to answer to those questions as long as it doesn't turn out to be a spoiler. Just send a review or PM me and I'll respond to it as soon as I can!
I'll probably update 'A Different Shade of Teal' and my Naruto fics before I continue to work on the next chapter of this story. But I'll not to take a year again to update. I'll update soon!
Please tell me what you think about the chapter okay? I'll be waiting!
