Dead Gone or Alive? Epilogue
Dick was on strong medication for weeks, until the other side of Dick completely vanished and Dick wasn't allowed out on hero dues for months. Finally after a lot of nagging Bruce finally let him out again, Robin and Batman started slow. To say that Batman was overprotective was an understatement. He was absolutely mental when it came to Dick's safety, in public the boy wasn't allowed to leave his side as Dick or as Robin. When someone touched Dick, Bruce or Batman depending on the situation would completely lose his temper. But as time went on everything smoothed out and all was remembered but the fear of something like that happening again drifted away. Dick still the happy, smiling boy he always was before anything happened. Occasionally he would remember and cry, as soon as he had finished crying he felt so much better and returned to being his normal self.
Two Year Later
Sitting in the meeting room of the Watchtower, Robin listened as his mentor and father spoke. As other members of the Justice League asked questions, Batman was quick to give them a simple yet informative answer. Sitting on the ground leaning against the wall, behind Batman, he listened as question and question was answered about a variety of different things. As all questions were answered, Batman stood and turned to check on Dick. Standing up to be at his side, a smile was on Dick's features as he make his way to his mentor's side.
"You up for a quick patrol?" Batman questioned.
"Yeah, let's go," Dick answered.
Staying beside Batman, Robin glanced at all the older superheroes as they passed. There was so many different superheroes that Batman worked with now, he used to be a complete lonely but the last couple of years he has really allowed more superheroes into his life. Reaching the teleporter, Robin looked at Batman before they were just about to step inside.
"Batman, can I have a word?" Superman asked, strolling towards the dynamic duo.
"What is it, Superman?" Batman asked, annoyed that after everything that was explained in the meeting Superman was holding him up afterwards.
"Why did you bring the sidekick?" Superman asked, it was well known that Superman didn't like the idea of someone so young being in the superhero business.
"I'm not his sidekick, I'm his partner," Robin answered, Batman looked at his son and smirked.
"Robin, is right. He is my partner, I am there when he needs protecting and he is there when I need protecting," Batman answered, turning away and stepping up into the teleporter with Robin.
Just before they disappeared, Batman and Robin glanced each other and then smirked down at Superman just before they were gone. Superman sighed, he had seen what the kid could do, he was better than many of the members in the Justice League, Superman knew that. Superman knew that Batman wouldn't let anything happen to him, all of this Superman knew but he still worried for the kid.
