Update! Happy Valentine's Day!

The musty elevator had suddenly become unwelcoming and tasted bitter. Rima sat in the far corner of the elevator, her knees pulled up to her chest and her mouth in a tight knot. She was reminded of the fact that she was still stuck in an elevator with the person she hated most.

She told him not bring it up, and he brought it up. They were talking, something they hadn't done in ten years, they were actually speaking words to one another in a friendly manor. She was just telling him about how she wanted to be a veterinarian, granted it was a lie but it was enough to convince him that it was her dream. And she couldn't possibly say she wasn't interested in his story about his dancing career, it was intriguing and she was exceedingly happy for him. But then the conversation fell apart and silence spilled across the elevator.

Then he said it. Even after she threatened him not to.

"I'm sorry, Rima. For that night." His apology came out as a quiet whisper and she had to strain her ears in order to hear it. But it set her skin on fire with anger. She didn't reply, she simply scooted to the farthest spot in the elevator and curled up in a ball.

Rima hugged her knees tighter as the memory of prom flooded back to her. She didn't try and fight it this time; she just let it replay in her head. It had been a wonderful night; her dress was a white gown with spaghetti straps that went down to her feet and it made her skin glow. She remembered that she had suggested getting drinks and she remembered waving Nagihiko goodbye as she did so. She also remembered returning to Nagihiko, only to find Mae-Lin's lanky arms wrapped around his neck seductively and a smirk curling onto her lips. Her memory went fuzzy and a pit balled up in her stomach when she recalled what had happened after that. Her tongue was down his throat, he made no effort to stop her, and Rima dropped the drinks, spilling red punch all over her beautiful white dress. "It's over." She had mumbled, her voice lost in the music, but she had been loud enough to make Nagihiko's eyes open just in time to see her running away.

In the dark, opaque gloom of the elevator, she let a silent tear slip from her golden eyes. It was amazing how something could change in seconds.

"Why did you bring it up?" she demanded in a shaky voice. "I told you not to."

"I need to apologize, I've been holding back that guilt for ten years." He breathed. "I was an idiot for even getting close to that girl, I knew she liked me but I never thought she'd pull a stunt like that."

I was silent.

I was waiting for him to finish.

He was apologizing. A full apology with every last regret spat out into the air.

"Rima, I'm sorry. I don't care if you ever take me back or even consider me a friend anymore; you had to know that I am sorry. I never wanted to hurt you; it broke me to see you cry like that because of me." His voice was beginning to sound shaky, like he was on the verge of tears.

"I…" she started, her mouth was as dry as a desert. "I forgive you, and I'm being honest, ten years is a bit of a long time to hold a grudge."

A sigh of relief filled the air and bitter taste in the air dissipated.

"I'm sorry too," she frowned, a bit ashamed of herself that she lied.

"What are you sorry for?" Nagihiko sounded utterly confused.

"I lied to you about being a veterinarian, I'm sorry. Everyone else was so successful, I just felt like I needed to be the same." If Nagihiko was going to let his regrets out, then she was too.

"I-uh… I'm sorry about that." a wave of sympathy floated in the air.

"But that doesn't matter, everyone would've figured it out eventually." She shrugged and she saw Nagihiko's shoulders drop as he lost his tension. "Thanks for apologizing, everything was so tense between and I'm glad that it's all over with."

"Me too, I'm happy that it's all gone now. You would be on my mind at the worst of times and you were all I could think about." He explained and she stayed silent, as if she was in awe of his admiration.

"Hey, what time is it?" she asked, scooting back over to him, this time closer, her hands were but a hair away from his. "It's six o'clock; we still have a while before anyone comes to our rescue."

"Umm…" he mumbled as he pulled out his phone, illuminating the elevator. "It's six o'clock; we still have a while before anyone comes to our rescue."

"Any ideas of what you want to do to pass the time?" Rima suggested lightly.

"No, not really," he slumped in boredom.

"I have a few ideas," a lustful look suddenly overpowered her and Rima planted a kiss on his cheek, then his mouth.

I think you all know what's comin' next…

Review please; I should have an update once I build up the courage to write a lemon.

Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
