Being awake before sunrise doesn't bother me as much as it should. I stilled my breathing as I listened to his. The slumbering body next to me shifted only slightly, due to my gentle stirring, not moments before. With the tiniest sound, he turned his back to me, the comforter draping over his hip. He looked so frail when he slept, body lax and thin. His protruding shoulder, only inches away, were so tempting to touch.
After all, when his skin cooled like this at night, it was merely a pleasure to touch.
My fingertips glided across his shoulder slowly, yet it still made him wake with a hum. The bed creaked quietly as he turned back to gaze into my eyes. Those deep, watery blue pools, open just a crack bore into my own. Dry lips parted slightly after a moment of sticking together.
"What's wrong?" The question was simple, asked in a voice nothing louder than a groggy whisper. Lazy, cool arms slid around my bare waist, pulling me off the warm cotton sheets and closer to his smooth chest.
I pressed my cheek against his ribcage, listening to his heart. My raven hair drooped across the expanse of pale skin. "Can't sleep." I whispered back, shaking fingers reaching to tangle themselves in Dwicky's charcoal - colored mane.
He yawned lightly and buried his nose into my hair, taking a deep, sleepy breath. He pressed his lips against my temple and chuckled softly. "Something on your mind?" His warm breath made goose bumps run up my arms.
"Just thinking about... Us." I admitted softly. I looked into those clear eyes in which I've fallen so deeply in love with.
"Oh?" he questioned lazily, seeming to not seeming to take me seriously at the moment. He always knew me to over think everything. His tone made me a little bit frustrated. "What about us?"
I bit my lip to calm down. "W-Well... I want to be... closer..." he cheeks heated slightly as I averted my gaze. "We've been together all these years and..."
My stuttered explanation was silenced with the softest kiss on my lips. He pulled away and stroked my cheek. "Sleep." he gently commanded, pressing me back into the cooled sheets. "Don't worry over things like that."
His gentleness always diffused my argument and made my heart flutter. I leaned in for another one of his glorious kisses, but was denied contact as he pushed me back down. "Sleep." he whispered, laying on his side towards me.
I sighed gently and shut my eyes. "Yes..."

Okay... What the hell did I just write?! I just wanted to post something since I haven't updated in a long time. My muse is dead, but I'm sure people want me to finish my Monochrome Factor stories.
All in good time, yes?
