A/N: Here's another just for you!

Chapter 6

A steamy hot coffee cup sat on the counter awaiting her when she came down the stairs. "Morning Daph" he greeted pleasantly, smiling ear to ear. She yawned, covering her mouth as she typically did. "Good morning.." She said sleepily. "What are you watching?" She asked curiously, snuggling close beside him on the sofa. "Just the news" he replied.

"Get your telescopes out tonight folks!" The news anchor announced, catching both their attention. "Tonight is a rarity occasion of a blue moon! Scientists are expecting a spectacular sighting of it, so keep your eyes peeled and send us your pictures!" Daphne grabbed the remote and cut the TV off. "Maybe we can take a look at that tonight." She suggested. "If we remember! We'll be tired after our first day on the job!" He minded happily, tossing a small donut in his mouth. She sighed. "Oh that..how'd I forget?" He gave her a friendly squeeze around the shoulders. "I'm stoked! I could barely sleep a wink last night just thinking about it! This is our dream come true Daphne! We're solving mysteries together!" He cheerfully said. She faked a smile. There he goes again! Speaking before thinking, he never asked her if this her dream, because if he had she wouldn't be signed up for such a miserable event. She'd rather hide in the basement than go get teased and taunted by the jerky bosses and whatever monsters lurked around Sea Nest Lake.

But Fred didn't seem to think about how she felt about this job. She couldn't help, but to feel like she was being used. The story was predictable, they'll go to the "haunted" place, she'll be kidnapped by a cooky fool in a mask, he'll rescue her, trap the bad guy and be the hero. Meanwhile she'll be quizzed about how it felt being captured *always* and what it feels like to be married to such a dashing heroic man as Fred. Though he was her knight dressed in an ascot, she couldn't control that her feelings were hurt by the way people judged her.

"How are you feeling today sweets?" He asked sweetly, kissing her forehead lightly before looking into her violet blue eyes. "I'm..okay." She hesitantly replied causing a frown to wash across his face. "What's bothering you babe?" Pulling her down into his arms, she looked straight at him. "I can't describe it..I just feel..well..really exhausted and just out of energy. I thought I would get better, but I think it might be getting worse.." She innocently confessed. The concerned look lit his deep blue eyes. "I almost fainted in the shower this morning.." She shyly added. He placed the back of his palms on her forehead. "You look a little pale too..I think we better stop by the doctor before we go to the lodge." He responsibly told her. She smiled weakly, he cared more about her than work right now.

"You're a healthy woman Mrs. Jones! Nothing to complain about here." Fred grinned, looking right at his petite wife that sat up on the examination table. "If I were healthy I would have a baby," Daphne inwardly said. She smiled back at Fred, she could read the anticipation on his face. He looked like a child about to enter the gates of Disneyland. He stood to his feet. "Well thanks doc! I'll be out in the car Daph!" She sighed. "I'll be right there!" She replied as he exited the room.

"Dr. Sydney" she bashfully called quietly. Sydney looked back, closing the door in the room. "you didn't see anything new, like I don't know..a chance that I could be pregnant maybe? This could be morning sickness" Daphne eagerly asked, her heart so hopeful in just the thought. Sydney sighed heavily and exchanged a small smile. "Daphne, I know how badly you and Fred want children, but I just don't think that's going to happen. You aren't pregnant, and this isn't morning sickness. I'm so sorry.." Sympathizing the best she could with the heartbroken woman. Her heart shattered like broken glass. Sliding off the table she grabbed her handbag. "I understand. Thanks Dr. Sydney.." Vanishing out the room and hiding into a restroom stall. She yanked a handful of tissues out and began crying. It felt so much like her first weeks of pregnancy with Belle. She was positive this time, the news tore her apart. She didn't want to feel so sensitive and emotional, but she couldn't control the tears that trembled down her face. Life felt harder than ever, and there was no one she could run to for the comfort she needed. Fred was so engrossed in this mystery she couldn't ruin it more than she already had. Her cell phone started buzzing in her bag. No other than her husband calling, of course. She sniffled and wiped away the tears. "Hello?" She answered cheerfully. "Where the heck are ya Daphne?!" He impatiently asked. "Sorry Fred, I'll be right there." She solemnly replied, hanging up and tossing the phone into her bag. She gazed into the mirror at herself, thanking her lucky stars that she wore waterproof makeup this morning. She cleaned off the tears, Fred never had to know. He would think she was just overreacting or being too emotional.

"Everything alright?" He greeted, driving the car off the lot. Daphne nodded. "Mhmm!" She assured him. "Good, I was really worried about you honey." He sincerely said, reaching over and holding her dainty just smiled, she didn't have the strength to admit how much she truly hurt.

They arrived at the lodge shortly after in the later afternoon.

"Its less creepy than I imagined." Daphne remarked, placing her hand on her hip. The pair stood outside the legendary lodge where the five photographers mysteriously went missing two years ago. "Here's where we start Daph! Today's is just the beginning of our mystery solving career together! Are you excited of what?!" He giddily exclaimed, grabbing her hand. She smiled lightly. "Oh I'm excited.." She hesitantly replied. Before she had time to react, his lips were mashed up against hers. "I love you sweetheart! This is gonna be awesome!" He overjoyed shouted. She blushed, wishing she could feel the same excitement he was experiencing. It just did seem possible, no matter how much she loved solving mysteries at one point in her life she just couldn't bring herself to find the same pleasure in it again.

"Let's split up and look for clues!" He announced, clapping his hands together. "I'll take the lodge, you hang around out here and see if you can find anything suspicious." Lifting her eye brow she gave him a look. "Unless you wanna stick together..that's fine too..I mean I guess I just thought since we're pros now-" Daphne flipped her silky red hair dramatically, her back facing him now. "No Freddy, I'm fine splitting up." She confirmed a hint of attitude sneaking out of her voice. He watched her trot towards the lake. "Looks like you've got s mystery on your hands Fred!" He squealed outwardly to himself, rubbing his hands together. Ready to enter the lodge and get his head deep into a case. "Wow you're letting her go off alone! Bold move." A voice spoke from behind. He flashed his attention over to the voices. "Adam? Tim? What are you guys doing here?" Tim smiled shaking Fred's hand. "Just thought we'd check in and see the progress you've made." Tim explained, focusing his eyes on the shimmering lake across the grounds. "Well we actually just got starred sir. You see, Daphne woke up feeling worse so I decided I should get her checked out. Thankfully she's seemingly okay. Doctor couldn't find a thing wrong!" He happily confirmed. Tim nodded. "Good to hear.." He muttered. "I'm sure she'll bounce back soon, for now it looks like she's doing okay." Adam noted, watching her search around for clues. "Right." Fred replied. "So you guys here to help or.." Tim grinned. "We'd be happy to lend a hand. This lodge is quite large. And it's been closed for two years now, it might be difficult picking through clues and dusty garbage." Fred led them into the lodge. "Let's get started!" He announced.

After a few hours of searching hopefully for clues, at last

"Look here!" Adam called out. An explosion of dust flying in the air. "It's a book on the mythical creature Boo Hag!" Fred raised a brow "Boo who?" He cluelessly questioned. "Boo Hag. A mythical vampire-like creature that would still the energy of innocent people. Legend has it that anyone bitten will be put under a cruse of becoming a mythical creature every sunset. It says here that; the Boo Hag returns once every two years near a blue moon to claim another innocent victim, making them an important role in their life..often a spouse." Fred's grabbed the book, retracing the words. "The blue moon is tonight!" He exclaimed.
