Chapter 48

A/N: So... I'm back? Sort of? Have a bit of free tume on my hands since art university only starts on the 18th. I'm starting my studies in Arts (FINALLY) all over again after 6 years of Biology which was definitely not for me.

This will pick up from where chapter 47 left off. I know there has been changes since this was first posted in terms of the plot of the RE series. Sadly, that's waaaaay far ahead of me and I found out only after the release of RE6 that Alex Wesker is a woman. Well gee... Here, he will be a man and is still alive (if I'm not mistaken Alex Wesker is supposed to be deceased). I'm so sorry. Don't kill me. It's just for this fic's sake.

Other than that, enjoy!

The icy voice reminded them all too well of their nemesis, Albert Wesker. But before them stood a man much different in appearance despite the pale blond hair and porcelain complexion. The individual stood proudly in a white lab coat, his face ornated with one of the most gruesome rictuses Leon had managed to lay eyes on. He was much taller than Albert, skinnier and yet the pain the government agent felt when he was thrown accross the hall was immense. The quite lanky, ordinary looking man was bestowed with great force and who knew what else by the virus.

"Alex." Ada spat, seemingly calm. Kennedy's eyes caught hers as he began propping himself up slowly, giving her a nod to signal he was fine. She returned the nod robotically.

"Ah, Miss Wong." Alex Wesker paused briefly, taking a few slow steps towards her. "How long has it been since you've last reported to me with your lovely, lovely face?" He continied his slow stride towards the Butterfly.

"Aw, do I sense concern? Missed me perhaps?"

Wong, with one hand, aimed her pistol at the man making his way towards her. As he got closer, her fingers became slightly tighter around the trigger.

"Why of course. Who would not miss the one agent capable of bringing me so many beautiful children? I mean look at them, they represent the future!"

The way he spoke of the children Ada naively and now regretfully brought to the facility made Leon's stomach churn. He grabbed the silver ghost and aligned it with the back of Alex's head. Seeing as he got to close to Ada made him tense every part of his body, allowing him to be ready for action.

"Not another step asshole." The once rookie cop stated, grip as stable as ever.

"Now, now Mr. Kennedy. Why are you so rude? Can you not marvel at your friend's work?"

The tall blond turned his eyes to Leon, spun around and began walking towards the tubes showcasing the tiny lifeless bodies.

"Look at all of these sacrifices that were made, such beautiful, once fresh creatures that were crucial to the development of something much more endearing, brilliant and perfect."

Alex Wesker had said these very words with his hand stroke one of the tubes, a shimmering light of disguating hope in his eyes.

"Much, much better than the Wesker project. Much kore than Spencer or Albert themselves would ever achieve."

His laughter hauntingly resonated within the cold metal walls of the dimly light lab.

As Leon laid his eyes on their enemy, Wong had made a choice she wasn't going to be able to revoke, putting away all the guilt and wearing the professional mask she always done when executing missions.

"Alex, honey." Her voice, seductive as ever, "Tsk, tsk. You sick, sick bastard." She pulled the trigger with a smirk on her face.
