A/N : Greetings my readers! I have returned!

I have to sincerely apologize for the long hiatus, University life was beating me silly. I struggled with this chapter a couple times as well, it just didn't work for me and I had to rewrite it no less than three times. This is where I thank you all for not only your follows but your reviews as well. My Fanfic account is linked to my Email so every time you guys follow or review I get alerted instantly. That in turn reminds me that people are waiting for my updates and did pressure me to finish up this chapter, this chapter is for all of you!

On the topic of updates moving forward I will say that I do plan to keep updating this Fic and eventually finishing it. There will probably not be much of a schedule for updates though as I do not have much time on my plate currently. I can say though that I will try my best to update more regularly than a two year gap.

Hoping you enjoy the chapter, (Your inconsistent Author)

Chapter 17 When a boy meets a ...

"Hem Hem."

Harry groaned irritably as the women in question tried to garner the attention of the class.

"This might be even worse than I expected." Harry sighed.

"Looking at your past results I am honestly shocked, so many dreadful professors teaching one of the most important classes in Hogwarts." She sighed.

"That all changes now though." She simpered.

"Throughout the remainder of the year we will be using the ministry approved textbook you have before you."

"I have reviewed this book myself and I believe that it contains all of the material you need to pass your owls this year."

A hand was immediately raised. "Professor?" Lisa asked. Harry could already see trouble on the horizon.

"And you are?" The lady in pink asked, a small smile spread across her face.

"Turpin professor, Lisa Turpin." Lisa introduced. The smile on the toads face seemed to fade away in a millisecond.

"Turpin hmm." She whispered silently. While the rest of the class didn't seem to pick up on it Harry heard it with glaring clarity.

"Shit." He thought.

"I see…. And what was your question Miss Turpin." Umbridge practically hissed.

"Y- You didn't mention what kind of spells we'd be practicing professor." Lisa offered with uncertainty.

"Of course I didn't miss Turpin, there's no need to practice how to cast spells in this class." She said.

Harry actually paused at that, 'There was no need to practice spells? In defense against the dark arts?'

"But how will we use them if we need to protect ourselves?" Lisa pressed.

"Why would you ever need to use such spells? The ministry will protect you." She simpered.

"But-."

"I know being a muggle born you do not belong in wizarding society or understand our ways, you should however have a modicum of faith in the ministry." Umbridge hissed. Lisa frowned while a slight blush tinted her cheeks.

"She's right Lisa." Harry said simply, causing a shocked look to spread across the faces of his friends. A flash of betrayal found its way to Lisa's face.

"After all the ministries been doing such a bang up job." Harry commented sarcastically whilst winking at Lisa conspiratorially. The class burst out in laughter, a smile had finally found its way back to Lisa's face.

"And what do you mean by that Mr Potter." The professor asked with a hard edge in her voice.

"You must have read some of the papers professor." Harry asked.

"The ministry fumbling, Dark times ahead, Somebodies fudged it all up." Harry said as he counted all of the articles that had been incredibly truthful about the situation in Britain.

"Lies! Nothing but lies! Only the prophet can be trusted." She argued through gritted teeth.

"But the prophet makes no sense whatsoever." Harry queried.

"How so?"

"The prophet is reporting that only one or two aurors have been injured every attack." Harry started.

"But Saint Mungos is filled with injured personnel, where did all the extra injuries come from?" Harry added.

"They couldn't be hexing themselves could they?" Harry joked, causing a giggling fit to pass through the class.

Umbridge seemed to have been about to explode, before she swiftly turned back to the board and began raving about how they needed to study the material to pass their owls.

"Thanks Harry." Lisa whispered with gratitude.

Harry couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips. "That was kind of fun." Harry whispered back, the amusement he felt plain on his face.

"That was awful." Roger moaned, just as the lesson ended.

As the students in the classroom made their way to the exit Harry heard that annoying simper once again.

"Stay awhile Mr Potter I would like to speak with you."

Nodding at the professor Harry made his way to the front of the classroom.

Noticing that several Ravenclaws' were staying behind to wait for their house mate Umbridge looked nonplussed.

"Alone." She added. Causing several of them to look at her and Harry with uncertainty.

"Go on." Harry signaled while pointing at the door.

"We'll wait for you outside Harry." Lisa whispered, as they made their way out the door.

"Can I help you? Professor." Harry asked, as he sat on the opposite side of the teachers desk.

"I would like to speak to you about your conduct during my lesson Mr Potter."

"What about it?"

"Your lack of respect was unacceptable." She accused.

"I was simply pointing out some facts professor." Harry countered simply, a look of indifference on his face.

"Come now Harry, I can call you Harry right?" She started, Harry tried his best to hide the involuntary twitch of his facial muscles at the thought of such familiarity with the toad women.

"If you must" Harry replied, the skepticism practically dripping off of his voice.

"There's no need for us to be confrontational now is there?" she asked, a rather disturbing smile on her face

"There isn't." Harry admitted.

Umbridge shot him a patronizing glance. "Exactly!" She simpered.

"Now Harry, your family is on rather good terms with headmaster Dumbledore yes?" She probed with a smile.

"How obvious could she be." Harry thought.

"They're not my family anymore professor, surely you must have heard?" Harry replied with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course I have." She smiled.

"They are close with the headmaster yes?" She asked again.

Harry sighed irritably, "Of course they are, any 10 year old could tell you that my family is close to the headmaster."

"Yes I was just wondering if there was anything about the headmaster that you might have heard?" She asked.

"It's been 3 years since I was disowned professor, I'm the last person who'd know anything worth telling you." Harry replied with a deadpan expression.

Standing up, Harry made a move to the door. "If you don't mind professor, I would hate to be late for my next class."

"Yes, we definitely wouldn't want you to be late now would we." Umbridge replied, staring as Harry shut the door behind him.

"Was it that bad?" Draco asked.

The day had finally ended and the group had finally found their way to their usual table in the library.

"Imagine the worst possible lesson that Lockhart ever taught, multiply that by ten." Roger explained.

"Yikes…" Ana said.

"Justin wasn't kidding, that woman is a piece of work." Cedric muttered.

"She's awful."Cho added.

"Bloody Bitch." Lisa muttered. Several heads gave her a quick glance.

"Whoa." Ana muttered in surprise.

"Did Lisa just." Tracy chuckled.

"Shows you how bad she is." Harry added.

"You should have seen her reaction when Lisa told her that her surname was Turpin." Roger muttered.

"I cannot imagine how bad our class is going to go." Daphne muttered.

"With the Gryffindorks?" Draco wondered.

"I think it's going to be amusing as heck." Draco chuckled.

Draco couldn't have imagined how right he was. During their defense against the dark arts, the class had nearly ended in a massive fire fight as several Gryffindors argued against Umbridge's claims whilst some of the Slytherins argued with the Gryffindors. After Nott attempted to hex Rose, the rest of the class devolved into a firefight. Forcing Daphne, Draco, Ana and Tracy to hide behind a table and shield themselves for a few minutes while waiting for the spell fire to stop. The spell fire only ended when professor Mcgonagall, who had heard the noise, had come in and stopped the madness. The end result was a huge amount of detentions and a loss of points. Harry told himself that he needed to get a memory of that incident.

The next few weeks had been relatively calm, Harry had finally found the best way to effectively use the defense against the dark arts class, which was to basically ignore the professor and read up on whatever he wanted on his own. After he realized that the class became far less taxing on his patience.

Dante and Harry had been slowly targeting other low-level death eaters, finding more information about the organization and confirming their information from Gregory Dale. They were now currently tracking down Antonin Dolohov. The man, An Azkaban escapee, kept a pretty low profile. Thus apart from having the foundations information network track him down. Harry and Dante had decided to keep interrogating death eaters for any kind of information. Life in Hogwarts had slowed down to sheer monotony. Being so busy, what with his missions and all Harry had rarely been able to meet Daphne for their usual study sessions. They had finally managed to squeeze in some time on a Sunday when Dante had assured Harry there would be no mission on that day.

"Axe breaker was the 5th king of the goblin kingdom, not the 6th." Harry whispered while pointing out Daphne's mistake.

Daphne just groaned out in frustration, "I hate history of magic."

"Come on, one last year." Harry chuckled.

"You did fine last year, you even got an exceeds expectations." Harry added.

"That was only because you were around last year." She groused.

"Im sorry, it's just that we really need to find Dolohov and-." Harry started to explain, a guilty expression on his face.

"I know, it's fine…." She whispered, that did little to help with the guilt Harry was currently feeling.

"Daphne I-" Harry started, he was interrupted though as his watch seemed to flash.

Frowning Harry drew out a mirror, "What." He hissed, attracting Daphne's attention.

"I need you to come in…" Dante ordered seriously, that caused a frown to appear on Harry's face. Dante was almost never serious.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked. Daphne seemed to be wondering the same thing as she kept staring at Harry.

"I'll tell you later, just come in as soon as possible. Be prepared for a serious fight." Dante muttered before cutting off the connection. Harry frowned, before looking awkwardly at Daphne.

"Go…" Daphne sighed.

"Daphne I…."

"Its fine go…."Daphne added with a small smile.

"We'll have dinner later okay?" Harry murmured with an awkward smile before dashing off to his dorm to get his equipment. A quick change and portkey later Harry was entering the safe house that the foundation had assigned to them.

"Alright, what was so important that you had to call me out." Harry grumbled.

"A code 10 alert has been reported in the Ukraine." Dante muttered, while choosing two sets of potions from a shelf.

"Code 10?" Harry repeated, surprised.

"That's a-"

"Demon." Dante finished.

"Any casualties?" Harry asked.

"Just the fool that summoned it. The site has been evacuated and the clean up team that was deployed has succeeded in sealing off the area."

"Agents managed to destroy one of the demons but another one slipped away while they were fighting the first. Some of them were injured during the fight, we are to assist in the second demons destruction while it's still contained." Dante explained.

"Did you read the book I gave you?" Dante asked.

"I did." Harry replied.

"Let's hope that you don't need to use it." Dante grunted before tossing a small metal ball to Harry.

"Lets go." Harry muttered before the port key activated and sent them to Germany.

The first thing Harry realized upon arrival was that the street was completely silent, there were no birds chirping or insects buzzing. Even the pitter patter of rats scurrying about was absent

"It's so quiet." Harry muttered.

"Animals are much better than us at sensing danger, with a demon around, i'm guessing every animal and insect in a five kilometer radius has probably left the area." Dante muttered.

"Follow me." Dante mentioned as they made their way down the street..

"How are they handling the muggles in the area?" Harry asked as they walked past building after building.

"The summoner may have been a fool but he was a secretive fool, this neighborhood is pretty much abandoned, agents have put the few humans living here to sleep and transported them out of the area."

Eventually, the duo made their way to bubble of energy. Harry watched in awe as magic was weaved together strengthening the bubble. Harry himself could only marvel at the wards being put up, trying to glance at them with his magic sight had Harry thinking he was staring at the sun.

Walking into the building Harry caught sight of what he assumed to be the foundations base camp. Several agents were keeping look out from the roof as a variety of personnel seemed to be trying to handle several issues at once. Harry watched as teams of people seemed to rush into the building next to the camp. The building was for a lack of a better term, run down. The paint had completely faded leaving a hideous waving brown and grey stain like pattern behind. The windows were smudged and grimy and the walls were full of cracks. Harry would not have been surprised if the whole building just collapsed under its own weight.

Outside of the building though there was a pristine tent set up, covering a bunch of tables with laptops placed around them. In said tent a man seemed to be shouting out orders as the rest of the staff carried out his orders.

As they walked up to the man that was giving out orders Harry overheard some of the orders being given.

"Is the containment team done ?" The man barked.

"They just managed to secure the body of the demon, they were about to bring it out." Another man with a headset replied, as he continued typing away on the screens in front of him.

"Good! Have them bring out the carcass and get it out of here ASAP."

"I want a team in the building processing all of the summoners belongings, tell them to leave no stone unturned." The man ordered as he glanced in their direction.

"It's good to see you again sir." The man said.

"If only it were under better circumstances." Dante mused.

"Harry meet Patrick, he's one of overseers in charge of the support unit." Dante introduced, as patrick reached out.

"It's nice to meet you." Harry replied while reaching out to grab Patricks outstretched hand.

"So where is it?" Dante asked.

"It's been cornered in one of the buildings further down from here, the building has been warded but we are unsure how long that will hold the creature."

"Were trying to sort this site out while we wait for backup."

"And the agents?"

"Three teams went in, unfortunately only dolls team is still deploy-able. There were no deaths but their injuries were pretty severe."

"We were lucky that containment was already underway so we were able to secure the second demon and wait for backup."

Nodding silently Dante made his way further down the road Harry following behind him.

"Dante!" A voice called out, harry noticed two men walked up towards them.

"Hugo!" Dante replied as two men walked towards them.

Upon recognizing the other man Harry couldn't help but call out. "Jake?"

"Harry! What a way to meet again huh?" Jake said.

"So your Dantes' new protégé huh?" Hugo asked.

"Jake has told me much about you, good to meet you lad." Hugo chuckled while smacking Harry on the back.

Harry nearly fell over with the force behind that slap, glancing at Jake Harry had a look of bewilderment on his face.

"Yeah, he does that." Jake chuckled.

"On to business Hugo, what happened?" Dante asked, before becoming deathly serious.

"As far as what doll has told me it seems that some of the European teams decided to raid what they thought was a safe-house belonging to several dark wizards, one of them managed to slip away and they spent the next couple of days hunting the bastard down. His desperation overcame his reason and the fool actually tried to summon two demons to even the playing field. He probably held control for maybe a second before they broke free." Hugo began explaining.

"How often are two demons summoned at once?" Harry asked.

"Almost never." Dante muttered.

"What you must understand Harry is that summoning a demon and taking control of it would be like getting access to a nuclear reactor. If done properly you have an incredibly effective power source of fell energy that also works as an attack dog. On the other hand, it's like you're trying to hold onto a great white shark with a leash. If you fail your basically dead. Doing that to one is already unbelievably hard let alone two at once."

"That's all that's left of him." Jake said while pointing at a body placed discretely to the side in an unzipped body bag.

The body didn't even look human anymore. There were scales on the entire right side of his face, and the eyes were completely red. Any foundation agent knew what it meant to draw from fell energy. Being the essence of a demons very existence the energy itself was unbelievably dangerous and extremely volatile, it was also a hundred times more powerful than normal magic, thus the attraction. It was fundamentally impossible for a human body to handle a force which was completely opposite to it. For its power though several wizards and witches were willing to try, drawing on a bit of fell energy would warp the vessel. There may have been more deformities but considering the fact that the body was missing its lower half Harry could not be sure.

"What a way to go." Jake muttered.

"What I want to know is why he even knew how to summon demons in the first place." Dante muttered.

"Doll said that they were chasing down this group because they were led to believe that they were in contact with the Demonai." Hugo replied.

"Okay whose Doll?" Harry asked.

"Dahlia grace, senior agent." Dante answered, while glancing at a woman who had been conversing with the warders but was currently making her way towards them, she looked like she was in her early fifties with grey hair that was tied up in a bun and strict features. Despite the cane she walked with, Dahlia grace walked with strength and authority. Following behind her seemed to be a young woman of about 22 with blonde hair and blue eyes. She seemed to be more suited to working as a model then a foundation agent. Then again looking at his own sixteen year old self Harry couldn't really comment about anyone else.

"Grandma! Slow down!" The girl called out.

"Jane I've told you before on the field you call me instructor or agent grace." Dahlia chided.

"Alright grandma." Jane replied cheekily, causing Dahlia to sigh.

"Dante, I heard you've been reassigned to England." Dahlia chuckled.

"Good to see you doll, although I would have preferred our reunion to be under better circumstances." Dante wondered.

"Demonic filth." Dahlia cursed. After which she began staring at Harry studying him intently.

"So your Dantes' new protégé." Dahlia wondered, Harry couldn't help but be slightly intimidated as the women stared at him.

"Try not to die." She muttered before walking off, Jane following swiftly behind her but not before shooting the four of them a wink

"Wha…?" Harry wondered with a look of confusion clear on his face. Looking at him both Dante and Hugo couldn't help but laugh hysterically.

"She likes you." Dante chuckled heartily as Hugo wiped a tear in her eye.

"How do you know that?"

"Because if she didn't she wouldn't care if you lived or died." Dante pointed out.

"Huh?" Jake and Harry murmured in confusion.

"Don't let her stern outer coating fool you, she's a big softy."

"Loves kids, as protective as a mother bear." Hugo added with a laugh.

"You should have been there when she found out Jane over there had been accepted into foundation training." Dante chuckled.

"What did she do?" Harry asked.

"She charged into an elders office, I heard the elder had to jump aside at one point as she cleaved his table and chair in half." Dante and Hugo laughed uproariously.

"What are you two talking about?" Dahlia shouted back.

"Nothing!" both men replied instantly.

"Come on." Dahlia growled suspiciously.

Dante and Hugo shared a look before following after her.

"Has this happened often ?" Harry wondered.

"Demons crossing through?" Dante chuckled, to which Harry nodded with a frown.

"More often than you would think." Dante explained.

"What causes it?"

"It's usually some fool witch or wizard messing with powers beyond their understanding. the veil that was set up by the foundation ages ago ensures that the demons can't come through on their own but some of the weaker ones can still be brought through."

"The wards are up. We'll be going in from three directions." Dahlia explained. As the group of them looked at the plans for the building. Harry noticed that the building used to be a multi story family home in its prime, with 3 floors not including the roof and a basement.

"Hugo, you'll be going in from the roof." She explained, as the stout men nodded in agreement.

"Dante will go in and hold the first floor, whilst I check the basement."

"Our scans tell us that the demon is on the second floor, but we cant be sure. When we've confirmed the other floors are clear we will converge on the second floor and destroy the demon together." She finished. As the two men nodded in agreement.

"We'll maintain communication at all times." She added.

"The two of you will follow your mentors, no risks, am I understood?" she clarified, whilst looking at Jake and Harry. Who immediately nodded in agreement.

"Nervous?" Dante asked. As the group began their final preparations.

"Nervous? Why would I be nervous? I'm just a fifteen year old about to get into a fight with a demon, there's no need for nervousness whatsoever." Harry chuckled nervously.

"Your not alone." Dante chuckled, as he glanced at Jake and Jane, who both looked as nervous as Harry did

"Just remember your training." Dante comforted.

"Stay aware of your surroundings, identify and target weak spots and conserve your stamina as much as possible." Harry recounted.

"And stay clear of the claws and teeth." Dante added for good measure, as he withdrew two short swords that were as long as the distance between his elbow to his fingertips, the blade was thicker at the base will slowly narrowing till the tip. one sported a blue handle, the other red.

Tossing the blue handled short sword to Harry, Dante cracked a grin. "As I recall you prefer a shorter blade right?"

"Yeah." Harry chuckled as he caught the blade though Harry couldn't help but stare at it. "So light?"

"It was made by dwarves." Dante chuckled.

"They may be a little grouchy and their pretty much drunk all the time but trust me their phenomenal metal smiths, that thing could cut through steel like butter." He added.

"I've been meaning to get you one but we've been too busy." Dante explained

"Thanks." Harry replied.

"How did you know I use this kind of blade anyway?"

"Byron told me, found it quite funny how we both use the same blade." Dante chuckled.

"Well its light enough to use with our wand." Harry defended.

"That's what I told him."

Harry remembered that day as if it happened yesterday, 1 month before his classes graduation test Byron had dragged everyone with him into an armory.

"Find a weapon." was what he had said before making his way to the door.

"What for?" Michael had asked.

"All foundation agents are required to use a secondary weapon, guns are taught to all of you but I found that a melee weapon has its own uses." byron explained.

"So find one that you are comfortable with and when you become agents you can put in a requisition for one." he added, as the class had decided to wander around trying out different weapons.

Harry watched as Hugo seemed to put on a pair of gauntlets, glanced over in Jake's direction Harry realized that he had brought out a rapier that sported a decorated handle, noticing Harry looking at him, Jake struck a pose. Harry simply stared back with a blank expression. Jane noticed the exchange and couldn't help but giggle at it. her giggle alerted Dahlia, who just proceeded to rub her temples in exasperation.

As Harry glanced at the grandmother, granddaughter duo he realized that they had both taken out their wands but Jane had taken out a long silver cane like her grandmother. Harry would have studied said cane with more intensity but it seemed that it was about time to get the show on the road.

"Shall we get this show on the road?" Dante asked.

"Let's head to our positions then!" Dahlia agreed.

"I'm getting too old for this crap!" Hugo grumbled as he begun scaling up the side of the building.

"I'm sure there's an elder that could use a personal assistant!" Dante laughed.

"Up yours Dante! Straight up yours!" Hugo replied.

"I'm not feeling very confident about this…" Jake mumbled, as Hugo smacked him on the head.

The six of them shared a glance before Jake and Hugo made their way up the fire escape of an adjacent building.

"Breaching in 3...2...1…" Dahlia counted down.

Bursting into the first floor Dante checked the left while Harry checked the right. "Clear!" the both of them stated.

Nodding in acknowledgement to each. Dante signaled to Harry, " Left."

Harry Immediately positioned himself behind Dante as the man in question hugged the wall and began counting down from three with his fingers. At one Dante burst into the room, watching the left side. Harry followed soon after looking to the right. Noticing that all was clear the two shared a nod before moving onto the other two rooms on the ground floor.

"This is team 1, basements clear." They heard from the link Coms in their ears.

"Team 3 ground floors clear." Dante answered.

"Team 2, demons a no show on the 3rd floor." Hugo said.

"Alright Team 1 and 3 will converge at the stair well and make their way to the second floor together, Team 2 make your way to your stairwell and wait for our signal." Dahlia commanded.

"Roger." Both Dante and Hugo answered.

Making their way to the stairwell the duo waited for their companions to join them. Before long Harry heard the creaking of floor boards. As the grandmother grand daughter duo made their way up the stairs they were greeted by 2 wands pointed straight for them.

"Code?" Dante asked.

"Butterscotch." Jane replied.

The both of them retracted their wands as Dahlia nodded approvingly, "You first." she whispered, pointing at the staircase. As they made their way up the stairs Harry heard Dahlia whisper. "Team 1 and 3 moving to second floor."

"Team 2 moving to second floor." Hugo replied.

That was when Harry felt it, it was like smelling a corpse that had been floating in the sewers for days while being punched in the stomach. Harry lurched forward woozily as he the urge to vomit nearly overcame him.

"Is he okay?" Jane asked worriedly as Harry's face seemed to take on a pale shade of green.

"I…I'm fine." Harry gasped.

"You feel it don't you?" Dahlia asked.

'He can feel the demons taint."

"Those that have a stronger connection to magic get it worst." Dante explained.

"Should we pull back?" Dahlia wondered.

"I'm fine." Harry said.

"Just needed a moment." He added, whilst he steadied himself.

Nodding silently Dante led the group up to the second floor where Hugo and Jack where waiting at the edge of a long corridor of doors.

Hugo noticed Harry's pallid face and asked worriedly. "Is Har-"

Before a hug clawed hand reached out from the wall gripping onto his shoulder pulling through the wall into the room.

"Hugo!" Jane shouted as she moved to aid the agent.

Dahlia stopped her though outstretching her hand to block the young agents path. Looking at her grandmother in surprise, before she could state her confusion though a loud crash resounded as a large body that was definitely not Hugos blasted through the wall back into the hallway. Harry and Jane watched, stunned as Hugo rushed through the hole the demon made covered in dust but none the worse for wear. Harry watched with curiosity as the agents gloves seemed to glow dimly. Hugo sent another punch at the demon sending it through the wall again with a crunching sound.

"After it!." Dahlia.

"You had to send it through the wall." Dante groused.

"Shut it!" Hugo replied as the group of six ran after the beast.

Running into the room through the hole the beast made Harry finally got a good look at the beast in question. It carried itself like a gorilla, standing on its hind legs but resting on its far larger and longer arms. The demon in question didn't have a nose or ears or even eyes, it just had a giant maw that sported raze sharp teeth. The demon was covered with brown scales, the scales on its chest though were clearly broken as green blood seemed to ooze out from within. Two long tails with spikes on their ends thrashed around menacingly as the demon faced the six agents.

As the beast roared in defiance Harry and Jake began throwing spells at the creature.

"Fulgeo luxima!"

"Bombarda!" the two of them cast. As the spells struck the demon more areas of the demons scaled hide began to shatter. As green blood oozed the beast ran at the agents. It didn't get far though as Dante and Hugo were already right in front of it.

"Blitz!." Hugo chanted as his wand sparked to life sending several arcing bolts of electricity towards the beast. The beast seemed to let out a scream of disapproval as the electricity burned it. As the beast dealt with the electricity Dante swung his blade at one of the demons tails slicing it clean off.

The demon clearly did not appreciate having one of its tails removed and immediately swung the other at Dante. Dante almost found it amusing and with another swing of his blade cut the other one off as well. The demon did not even have the time to roar in outrage as by then Dahlia and Jane were upon it.

"Diffindo Maxima!." the two of them cast as a magical bladed seemed to cleave into the beasts flesh. The demon returned in kind by charging at the two women.

Harry, who was waiting for the demon, was already casting, "Gladium de lumine!" Harry cast while swiping down with his wand. As he did so a giant blade of light sprung from his wand cleaving downwards from the ceiling all the way to the demon. The demon was able to move to the side and avoid being split into two, it failed to dodge completely though as the blade of light cut clean through its right arm. Harry was surprised though as the demon seemed not to register the loss of its arm as it continued barreling towards the agents. As Harry and Jake dodged to the side, to Harrys' surprise, the grandmother granddaughter duo charged forward to meet the demon head on. Harry watched curiously as Jane brought out her cane. The canes held by both of the grace women sharpened and then extended into whips.

Harry had seen many styles of battle in the past, this one was a first for him. The two danced around the demon, using their rotating motion to slice at the demon with their whips. The demon did attempt to swipe at them but they would always dodge out of its reach before counter attacking with said whips. Sensing the dire situation the beast seemed to be looking for escape, before it could make a break for it though Jane made a flourish with her wrist causing the whip to wrap around the creatures arm allowing her to pull it back in place. Suddenly, one of the nubs that remained after Dante had sliced of its tail sprouted out a brand new one. The new tail swung at Jane who was now stuck in position holding the whip. Jane remained unperturbed cutting off the demons tail a second time with a diffindo maxima. Dahlia on the other hand charged forward running up behind behind the demon. In a fit of desperation the creature raised its remaining arm high and then smashed it onto the floor beneath them. The building shook with the force of the strike as the floorboards broke apart. Dahlia though had taken advantage of the beasts action to send a slash of her whip right at the demons neck, decapitating it cleanly. The shaking though did not lessen as the floor beneath caved in, sending them falling to the ground floor of the building. Despite the reinforcing enchantments laid by the support staff the building, already in disrepair, began to collapse.

Cracks creeped their way across the walls as bits of debris began falling from the ceiling. "The building's coming down!" Jake shouted.

"We have maybe three minutes at best." Hugo said as he examined the collapsing structure around them.

Before anyone could say anything else the decapitated body of the creature jumped forward once more, charging for the agent that was closest to it, in this case it was Harry. A new head burst out of its neck as it closed in. there was no way to dodge, any spell he could cast in that time was not able to stop that chunk of flesh teeth and claws from shredding him to bits.

Harry watched as the mass of teeth and claws closed in and time seemed to slow down immensely. Harry noticed the movements of Dante and the others all rushing to his aid, he knew though, they wouldn't make it.

'Was this it?' Harry wondered.

'Was this as far as Harry James Potter was allowed to go in the world?'

'He had done well for himself but was that enough?'

The answer came from the very depths of his soul, 'NO!' it resounded within him. He wanted so much more. He still had so much to see and do, plus there was no way he would leave Daphne behind or his friends. That was when Harry felt it, a burst of energy from within, the energy felt familiar like the same kind he used on the unicorn all those years ago.

Harry let it out.

His eyes glowed that mix of black and green as a beam of light was released from his hand striking the beast head on. The demon in question was not knocked back or stopped. It was disintegrated, any part of the demon that the beam struck simply disappeared. Harry looked at its remains, stunned. only parts of an arm and leg remained with a tail, the parts tried to regrow their torso before stopping completely, the demon was dead. Harrys' beam though had blasted out part of the buildings wall causing the building to collapse.

"Accio Harry!" Dante cast as Harry, who had exhausted himself, was pulled to his friend. Everyone gathered up on Dante and Harry as the former cast again.

"Nos Protegat!" he chanted as the building fell on top of them.

As they came out of the bubble none the worse for wear, Harry noticed several of the support staff rushing towards them.

"Is everyone alright?" Patrick asked.

"Get me a medic, he needs a full diagnosis." Dahlia ordered as Patrick ran off in search of a medic.

"Wha… I'm fine!" Harry exclaimed.

"You'll be fine when one of the medics say your fine!" She replied as she grabbed his wrist and dragged him towards one of the large tents that had been set up further away. Looking back Harry noticed Jane and Jack giggling, probably at his expense. Harry instantly felt the urge to flip them off rise within him.

It seemed though that Dahlia had noticed them giggling as well, "What are the two of you giggling about, your coming too." The senior agent demanded.

Eventually the three agents found themselves seated inside the tent as the medi-witches and wizards waved their wands around them.

"Is this going to take any longer? I'm fine." Harry said.

"Just go with the flow my boy, Dolls not gonna change her mind anytime soon." Hugo stated.

"Their all fine." One of the Mediwizards announced.

"Young Harry though might need some time to rest."

"The containment was successful and there were no injuries, not bad for your first run in with a demon." Dante exclaimed while pating Harry on the back.

"That demons ability to regenerate was definitely an eye opener." Harry said.

"Some of them have surprises like that." Hugo said.

"Despite that it was at most one of the middling rank demons on the totem pole, no intelligence just instinct." Dante explained.

"The Demonai are far more dangerous in that regard." Dante added.

"That's why the higher ranking demons experimented with other species, as far as minions go their demons while good as a brute force battering ram, lack any use otherwise." Dahlia explained as she fussed over her grand daughter.

looking at the cane laid on the side of the table Harry couldn't help but have a slight wistful look, "Where can I get one." he wondered out loud.

"It's a Grace family weapon." Jane giggled.

"And unfortunately it is unsuitable for your current battle style." Dahlia commented.

"Damn it, and it was such a nice looking weapon…" Harry commented, to the chuckles of the crowd.

Looking at Hugo Harry sported a curious expression. "What about those gloves?"

Hugo took on a proud expression. "Ah these are called Kraft Tragen, they are my families most prized heirloom." He said proudly as he showed everyone his gloves.

"I don't suppose they sell them in stores?" Jake commented.

"Cheeky." Hugo chuckled.

"The base of artifacts like that can only be created by the most skilled of craftsmen like the goblins or the dwarves. The spells and enchantments that need to be weaved into the artifacts are unique and incredibly rare, so only the oldest of families have the pre requisite amount of knowledge to attempt making them." Dante added.

"But I've never seen anything like this in Britain, and there are pretty old families there." Harry muttered.

"My family, the Albrights are close to five hundred years old and I have never seen anything like that either." Jake wondered

"You might have one but probably not know what it is." Dante chuckled.

"Huh?" Harry and Jake said simultaneously.

"You can imagine that an artifact provides a witch or wizard with an incredible amount of power right?" Jane asked, as Harry and Jake nodded.

"It's incredibly unlikely that ministries around the world would allow the noble families no matter how old to hold on to such artifacts." she explained.

"It became common practice to keep the existence of an artifact completely secret, it was pretty common to even hide it from members of the family." Dahlia explained.

"Only the head of house would know about the artifact and they would only pass on that knowledge to their successor, usually on their deathbed." she added.

"And therein lies the problem." Dante said, eliciting puzzled looks from Harry and Jake.

"The head of the house will only tell the heir about it on his deathbed, any information about the artifact will also not be recorded down in a will or otherwise." Hugo started explaining.

"So if the head dies before his time, like in battle…" Harry wondered out loud.

"His successor literally has no idea about the artifact at all." Dante added on.

"If the head brought the artifact with him, it could have been taken without the successor knowing about it at all, so he wouldn't search for it. and if he didn't bring it out with him, as we see most of the time, it ends up gathering dust in storage, with all of the family members thinking it's just an old heirloom." Dante finished.

"Couldn't someone discover the power of the artifact ?" Jake asked.

"Sensing it is almost impossible as it shares an almost identical magical signature to normal enchanted items. uncovering its power by accident is also incredibly unlikely, to use an artifact you need to inject magic into said artifact and then think about what you want it to do. this means that you need to actually know what it does in the first place, which most of these people do not." Dante answered.

"Why not just tell the family about the artifact?" Harry wondered.

"Familicide…" Dahlia murmured.

"If the entire family knows about the artifacts existence it will probably be seen as the cornerstone of the family, the physical approximation of the heads authority." Dahlia explained.

"So people end up killing for them…." Harry murmured.

"Power tends to drive people crazy." Dante sighed.

"Enough with such talk, this was a good day, let's not ruin it." Hugo laughed out loud.

"The clean ups about done let's all head home for some shut eye, I think we've earned it." Dahlia chuckled.

looking at his watch Harry found that it was already eight at night, "well so much for catching dinner with Daphne…." Harry thought to himself.

As harry walked out of the tent, Dahlia pulled Dante to the side.

"Dante, at the end there, was that?" She whispered.

Dante nodded silently a smile on his face, "Harry seems to be full of surprises."

That's the end of this chapter!

Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did writing it out.

By the way, I kept the end of the title hidden so that I would not spoil it but there are actually two names for the title, the first was 'When a boy meets a demon' and the second was 'When a boy meets a toad'.

Just telling you because it amuses me.

Hope to see you at the next chapter!
