Let's be honest here, I'm lying to myself if I think I'll ever complete this. Years have gone by, technical issues have erased two attempts at the next chapter, my motivation is long gone. But for anyone who wants to know the ending here is what I had planned.

The next chapter was a Christmas party at the Cullen household with Alex, Seth, and Leah.

Renesmee was sad but determined to have a good time.

Alex showed up in a naughty santa outfit and gave everyone ridiculously inappropriate gifts.

Jacob's yearly joke gift to Rosalie was a nice fancy strawberry scented shampoo. He gave her a little speech on how they should try to get along better and he thinks it's time to end the insults. She got him a collar, but agreed next year would be different.

Seth and Leah together brought a kareoke machine and all plans went out the window for kareoke night.

Everyone had a blast, Ness revealed her and Jacob's song, being a heavily sexualised song, and refused to let him explain the real story behind it.

Many adorable little bonding moments between Ness and Alex.

Later in the night, Rose came running out of her room screaming, wearing a towel, with wet, partially pink hair. Jacob climbed the Christmas tree to try and get away from her, and it was discovered his nice gift had been a prank. Once she was calmed down he was pulled aside and it was explained to him that removing the colour from such light blonde hair would be impossible, and vampire's hair grows so slowly it would take decades to get her hair back to the way it was. He was genuinely apologetic and she accepted he didn't realize the consequences, she still glared at him all night.

Many people comforted Rose, including Leah who hadn't been particularly close with her, or many of them really, but she agreed Jacob had seriously messed up. She promised to help Rose shave half Jake's head while he slept.

When the night ended Alex and Ness said goodbye, the two were sad to not be seeing each other as much because the Cullen's were moving away. Renesmee thanked her for years of friendship and all her help in becoming the person she became. She then gave the human the magazine she had given Ness all those years ago. They hugged and promised to visit each other, but it felt false. Alex left the house and somehow knew she would never see her friend again.

Once the door closed Edward held his daughter as she fought off tears, and the family got to packing.

By Morning they were gone.

As they had agreed Alex emailed every day, for the first few weeks Renesmee occasionally replied, giving few details and focusing on irrelevant things. Alex would send an account of everything she had done and how much she missed her friend, after a few emails with no reply, Renesmee would send an email talking about how busy she was with the move, loved her new home, saw a cool bird that looked like it had a mohawk, and added a picture. the emails became less frequent and the promises to catch up were empty, eventually, Renesmee stopped replying at all.

Alex still sent the emails, the account was still active so a couple times a year she would send updates on her life to her best friend, the girl who had changed her life. She talked about her love life, every partner that came and went, the one that finally stuck around. Renesmee never replied to the wedding invite but Alex sent her pictures of the happy day. She sent pictures of a baby shower, and her adopted 4 year old. Talked about being a mother, vented whenever the stress of life built up, lamented over the good times, still sent everything to her friend and never received a reply.

Renesmee read them all.

At the age of 92 Alex died.

A mysterious guest arrived at the funeral, she rode in on a motorcycle, with blonde hair and a spray on tan, introduced herself as Vanessa. She had never met Alex, but had heard so many stories, her elderly mother was too sick to travel, no she had come to play her respects. She met the old widor Annabelle, Gabriella, their daughter who had organised the even, her husband Richard, and their children, Glen, Fredrick, and Morgan. Vanessa recognized all of them from the photos she had seen. She talked of her mother Renesmee, an old woman with dementia, sitting in a hospice, still telling stories to all who would listen about her old friend. Before she left, Gabriella gave her a shoe box with a few old trinkets, photographs of Alex and Renesemee all those years ago, and at the bottom, that old dirty mag.

And so Renesmee left the funeral, her greatest friend gone from the world, wishing she had never had to leave, but comforting herself in the fact that Alex lived a good life, she was happy.

And that was the end.

There were plans for a sequel, focused on their relationship with the pack. When Sam and Emily almost lost their first child they came to Carlisle for help. Renesmee who had been studying genetics and supernatural creatures, curious about her own existence, helped him treat them and wound up being the go to midwife for the pack. With no explanation, Rosalie's hair was a bright crimson. The Cullen's were less prevalent as it mostly showed her interacting with the pack and becoming auntie Ness. One day when Renesmee was 53 and Jacob 69, they had a conversation and decided they wanted to have children of their own. Being immortal there was no hurry, so no one was worried when 10 years went by, 20 years, 24 years. Then they started questioning why it wasn't working. Upon investigation, Jake was just as fertile as all werewolves, and Renesmee was as unchanging as a vampire. All the parts were there, but her body had no way to grow around it. The blow hit her hard, aside from a small disappointment Jake wasn't bothered, but Ness felt it was more proof she was an abomination, an accident that didn't belong in the world. A long journey of healing went on, and they discussed other options, they wouldn't adopt a human child, the considered finding a surrogate and having Jake father the child, but eventually came to the conclusion they were content Being auntie Ness and uncle Jake, it was a nice fantasy to have though. They moved full time into their honeymoon home although often traveled, both sides of the family quite large. Even when they were home they often had visitors and wound up renovating their little cottage into a large manor. Some of the pack moved away, most stayed, though the few who didn't age had to move away and took turns returning every few generations. Ness and Jake's place became the meet up holiday spot for anyone who couldn't be seen in the same place by their human neighbors. The also adopted a small pack of dogs.

So that was my plan for their lives, I'm only sharing it because I'll probably never get around to writing it down properly, but at least you don't have to wonder. ~SophieAngel69
