Disclaimer: Dont own Fairy Tail:
The Fairy Tail mages stood in shock at the position where Lucy and Kasai were standing just seconds earlier.
"Fuck. Just when we found the kid." Gageel cursed under his breath glancing to his left, Levy was seen, hands covering her mouth in shock. Patting the girl on the head Gageel continued by her and rushed up the stairs. "Wendy lets go! I can still smell Lucy!" Gageel called back to the crowd"
"He's right guys, dont just stand there! We got to catch up to Lucy and Kasai!" Erza ordered, when no one made a move, the redhead grabbed Wendy and Carle and ran up the stairs after Gageel, the rest of the group following behind.
As the purple light faded, Lucy opened her eyes and looked down at Kasai in her arms. The boy looked up slowly at her, not with a look of warmth and caring that he has always looked at her with, but with a look of terror and without recognition of who was holding him.
"Mama?" Kasai whispered, his voice quivering. Lucy tried to smile but failed, a single tear sliding down her cheek.
"I'm so sorry Kasai.. I love you, so much." Lucy said, her voice sounding tired.
"Whats happened to you mama? You.. You're different" Kasai observed his mothers face, her warm brown eyes had glowing purple rings. Across Lucys face a purple mark appeared under her eyes, just on her cheekbone. As Lucy struggled to speak again, a flash of purple enchantments appeared on her neck. As Kasai struggled to decipher what it said, Lucy screamed, the purple marks appearing on her arms as well.
"Kasai, run... please.. I'll stop Abbadon.." Lucy cried. Kasai tried to ask what was happening, but Lucy had pushed the boy away and ran the opposite direction. Before Kasai could take a step to follow his mother, Lucy screamed once again and collapsed onto her knees. Kasai watched in horror as Lucy continued screaming. Suddenly the skin on her shoulder blade rippled, bursting apart to form a single, leathery purple wing that protruded from her right shoulder.
Screaming, Kasai struggled to his feet, legs weak, he ran the opposite direction from Lucy as her cries changed into the screams of a monster. Taking the risk, Kasai looked back for his mother and saw her morphed form struggle to her feet as a man started walking towards her with his hand outstretched. Kasai opened his mouth to scream, but no sound came from him as he watched the man shoot a pulse of magic straight through his mothers chest.
Turning around once again, Kasai struggled to run away as the morbid image of his mother being attacked was clear in his mind. Feeling something stab into his leg, Kasai looked down to see a purple spike sticking out of his leg, instantly his leg went numb and Kasai fell to the ground. Continuing to Struggle, Kasai spotted a dull light a fair distance away and started using his arms to pull himself closer to the light.
Hearing something rush past his head, Kasai notices a red spike that landed a few feet away. Feeling something hit Kasais leg, the boy screamed as pain rushed through his leg. Curling up into a ball, Kasai found another red spike sticking out of his calf. Screaming in pain, the boy caressed his leg as if to lessen the pain. Suddenly the pain blossomed on his right shoulder and Kasai screamed once again. Flailing around, Kasai continued to crawl towards the light when someone stepped in front of him.
Looking up, Kasai saw a woman standing in front of him, a pitiful look on her face.
"Help me.." He whispered.."
"I wish I could kid.. I wish I could" The woman said softly. Reaching down, Kasai felt her pat his head gently as he blacked out.
..heh..
