She was... useless.

Daidouji Tomoyo fell face-first into her large luxurious bed, the silken sheets absorbing the tears that kept on falling from her violet eyes. Her hands clenched tightly in the material as she sniffled, trying to clear her thoughts on what had happened earlier that night.

It had been exactly five years since Tomoeda had been plagued by the Clow Cards and four years since Kinomoto Sakura changed all those Clow Cards into Sakura Cards.

In that time, Tomoeda had been relatively peaceful until just a few months ago.

Another one of those strange creatures had appeared, hidden by a barrier and preying upon the innocent vulnerable citizens of the city. A few people had even been murdered by the creatures before Sakura and Syaoran had finally caught onto it.

No one, not even Keroberos or Yue, knew what the creatures were or where they came from, but it was obvious they had to be destroyed and Sakura and Syaoran were the only ones capable within Tomoeda.

Of course she had found this to be the perfect time to compel Sakura into the many cute outfits she had created in the years since the Clow Cards and to videotape said encounters with those creatures.

But the creature they had encountered that night had targeted and attacked her, and she would most certainly be dead if not for Sakura.

But in saving her, Sakura had been injured quite badly by a large laceration in her side that had bled heavily.

"It's my fault," Tomoyo whispered, unable to shake that idea from her head, even though Sakura had reassured her that it wasn't and that she would gladly do it again, "It's my fault. I only get in Sakura-chan's way."

"There is a way to help."

The voice had Tomoyo quickly glancing up to the source and her violet eyes widened once she spotted a cute cat-like creature, whose appearance reminded her much of Kero, sitting in her open window, staring at her with red unblinking eyes, "What?" Tomoyo easily get over her shock of seeing such a strange animal because she saw Kero on a daily basis.

"There is a way for you to aid Kinomoto Sakura in the way that you wish." The animal's expression didn't change and its mouth didn't even move as it spoke, but Tomoyo didn't pay attention to those small details in the least.

"How?" Tomoyo demanded in her most authoritative voice as she sat up in her bed, taking the cat's words very seriously, "I will do anything if it means I can help Sakura-chan." She stared as the creature's tail swished around and it tilted its head and offered her only ten words in response.

"Make a contract with me and become a Magical Girl!"
