With her, he doesn't have to act. His voice becomes his own; his smile is real. She makes him laugh more than he can ever remember; their shared poverty binds them in a way nothing else could have. He supposes that he would've learned to love her, one way or another, even if she hadn't joined New Directions. A girl like her is made to stand out. He's surprised by these feelings, borne out of friendship but morphing into something much more, but he supposes they're inevitable. She is, after all, a Rose, and he's always had a sweet tooth.
