They appeared in a beautiful place. Sebastian set Luke down on his feet and Luke glanced around wildly, looking for his brother.
"Where is he?" Luke asked no one in particular.
Grell squeaked in surprise as he faced a rather large building.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked.
"Isn't this the Library of Death Gods? This is where the Cinematic Records are kept" Grell replied.
They headed inside at a brisk pace and stopped right in front of the doors. Sebastian pushed the door open and instantly a pair of hedge trimmers appeared as if to attack him. He moved to the side, avoiding the hedge trimmers causing Luke to duck and Grell missed the hedge trimmers by mere inches.
"That's dangerous!" Grell yelped as he bent over backward to avoid the attack. The hedge trimmers retracted and Luke stood up.
"Spears? What are you doing here?" Luke asked.
"I was just wondering about that offensive odour. Surely enough, it was you" Will replied ignoring Luke's question. He glared at Sebastian who didn't waste any time glaring right back.
"Will..." Grell stepped into the library.
"For a demon to break into our domain..."
"Wait a second, Will! We just followed your order to return the Doomsday Book" Grell protested.
"Oh my. For a Death God to personally invite vermin, Grell Sutcliffe, it seems to me that you desire further demotion" Will said.
"Oh just shut your mouth. The more we linger the more my brother is in danger" Luke said.
"The angel, I presume" Will muttered.
"Exactly" Luke replied.
When they finally found Ciel, he was resting on Angela's lap with film reels emerging from his body.
"CIEL!" Luke was about to run to his brother but Will grabbed his arm, pulling him back.
"His past is being rewritten right now, purged white and clean" Angela said sweetly.
"What do you mean, rewritten?" Luke asked with fear.
"Purged?" Sebastian asked.
"No one wishes to be live burdened by hatred. He is no exception" Angela replied.
Sebastian was about to run forward but Will stopped him.
"If stopped now, the past will not be fitted correctly into this boy, causing him to change into an incomplete human being" Will said.
"Why my brother, Angela? Why not me?" Luke asked.
"You are already pure, Lucas. I love you and thus I do not wish to change you. However, your brother is so full of hatred, so full of anger. He will now become a pure human being" Angela replied.
"If you love me, truly love me, you would let my brother live as he wishes to!" Luke said.
Ciel was walking towards his parents blindly, ready to accept whatever his parents wanted when a voice called out for him.
"Ciel!"
Ciel turned and his eyes widened when he saw his red headed brother, Luke.
"Ciel, I know you love our parents more than anything in the world. Our parents are gone. They will never come back. This is just inside your mind and you are being fooled. Come back to me, Ciel!"
"Luke" Ciel murmured.
"Ciel, come to us. We don't bear any hatred the way Luke does. Hatred is impurity" Ciel's father said.
Ciel froze.
"I won't" he muttered.
"What are you talking about, Ciel?" his mother asked.
"Even if you and father don't hate anyone, that has nothing to do with my own hatred" Ciel replied.
"Don't you love us, Ciel?" His mother asked.
"I do love you. That's why it was so painful. There is nothing left to me but hatred. I won't let go of it. If I cast off my hatred, I wouldn't be me anymore!" Ciel said.
"Ciel"
An arm wrapped around his shoulders. Ciel could feel himself become relieved when he looked up into his brother's blue eyes. Luke was the only one who would accept him for the way he was. His brother was the only one he needed after all that had happened over the years.
"Let's go home, Ciel" Luke said.
"Let's go. I will never give up this hatred" Ciel said.
Luke watched horrorstruck as his brother floated into the air, the film reels hovering around him.
"He restored the Cinematic Record all by himself!" Grell exclaimed.
The film reels went back into Ciel's body and he began falling. Luckily Sebastian caught him before he could hit the ground.
"What a reckless thing to do" Sebastian commented, holding Ciel in his arms.
"Sebastian, where is Luke?" Ciel asked, beads of sweat glinting on his forehead.
"I'm right here, Ciel. You never fail to exceed my expectations" Luke held out his arms and Sebastian carefully placed Ciel into the red head's arms.
"How dreadful a tainted heart is. Corrupted, stagnant, dark. Showing mercy was no use, just as I thought" Angela said.
Luke stepped back all the way to the doors, so that he and Ciel would be safe from the fight about to happen. However, right in the midst, the Undertaker appeared pushing a cart load of library books.
"Undertaker?" Ciel exclaimed in surprise.
"Hi!" the Undertaker waved joyfully.
"Wait, why are you-" Grell was hit immediately on the head by Will.
"Mind your language! This paragon of reliability passed judgement on the soul of Robin Hood himself, and sent Marie Antoinette to Hell. Even a crying child would willingly hold out their soul to this legendary Death God" Will said.
"Wait a moment! He is nothing like your imaginary description" Grell cried and ran over to the Undertaker. "Besides, which part of this small fry is a legendary Death-" he turned the Undertaker around and lifted up his fringe to reveal his eyes. Grell's eyes widened before throwing himself into the Undertaker's arm as if in love.
Angela rose into the air a bright light surrounding her.
"Since you all seem busy, I will start by taking care of that filth in that monastery"
"Are you going to run away again?" Sebastian asked.
"Let me show you what end the world will meet, if ruled by impurity" Angela disappeared and the walls instantly turned a light beings colour.
"What is this?" Ciel asked.
"An angel's barrier" Will replied.
"So we can't even get out of here?" Luke asked as Grell tried to pull open the doors.
They all turned around when they heard one of the books fall from the shelves and open up to an incomplete page. Will bent and picked it up.
"This is the Cinematic Record of a person from that monastery" Will said.
"The monastery?" Grell asked.
Words began writing themselves in the book. "A slaughtering angel has descended upon the monastery on the outskirts of Preston". Will said reading the entry.
"Angela is going to slaughter all of them?" Luke asked.
"We need to stop her" Ciel said.
"Oh, young master? An act of kindness?" Sebastian teased with a smirk.
"It isn't because he wants to help them. I don't want Angela to do what she pleases. That's all" Luke explained quickly.
"But what are you going to do? We can't even move from here" Grell pointed out.
"No, we still have one thing" Will pushed his glasses up with the hedge trimmers.
"What?" Luke asked.
"An ultimate tool of the Death Gods that only the highest ranks of the dispatch are permitted to use. It's name is the Death Bookmark" Will replied.
"A pink bookmark" The Undertaker giggled holding it out.
"So he can rewrite that person's life? That's a scary thought" Luke commented.
The Undertaker began writing and Sebastian disappeared before their very eyes. Will and Grell disappeared as well to fight the angel. Luke watched the Undertaker continue to write in the book, rewriting the entire life of Matilda.
"How convenient" Ciel commented.
"Though it is not omnipotent" The Undertaker replied.
After it was over, Luke looked around the demolished church and didn't realise where this overwhelming sadness was coming from. How had Angela, the sweet maid from Houndsworth become an angel that was going to slaughter an entire church? Why would she want to clean Ciel out? What was her reason behind all this? Luke smiled sadly at Sebastian and then wrapped an arm around Ciel.
"As promised, you can take it" Ciel said and Luke looked up horrified.
Sebastian stepped forward and Ciel closed his eyes, waiting for him to take his soul. Instead, Sebastian merely untied his tie and did it up again.
"Why aren't you taking my soul? She is dead, isn't she?" Ciel cried but Sebastian simply smiled.
"She's not dead then?" Luke asked.
"Are there others too?" Ciel asked.
"Let me be in your service a little longer, Master, Young Master" Sebastian replied bending one knee and bowing.
"So why exactly were you in the library? You should have retired from active duty" Will asked.
They were all in the Undertaker's shop, having tea. Luke reclined in his custom made coffin and sipped at the wonderful milk tea that Sebastian had made.
"Well, there is something I remembered, thanks to him" the Undertaker accepted the glass of tea Grell had made. The red headed shinigami batted his eyelashes at the Undertaker flirtatiously.
"I completely forgot to return those Cinematic Records" Undertaker said.
"Out of all things" Luke breathed out, not really shocked at all.
"And amongst those books I borrowed were those of Mr and Mrs Phantomhive" The Undertaker said. Luke sat up immediately and Ciel stiffened. "Genuine Cinematic Records, unaltered by the angel" The Undertaker concluded.
"You read it?" Luke asked.
"Do you want to know what is written inside?" The Undertaker asked.
"No, let's go, brother, Sebastian" Ciel stood and placed the hat back on his head.
Luke stood up from the coffin and then hugged the Undertaker goodbye. They began walking back to the carriage when Sebastian spoke.
"Are you really content about this? If you read the books, you could learn the identity of your opponents"
Ciel didn't answer, lost in his thoughts.
"If we just found them with a turn of a page where would the fun in that be?" Luke asked rhetorically.
He glanced around carefully before taking Sebastian's hand. Sebastian glanced down and then glanced over at Ciel who was walked ahead of them. Luke squeezed Sebastian's hand and then let him go to catch up with his brother. He sent Sebastian a mischievous smile and wrapped an arm around his brother's shoulders.
You surprise me every time, Master. Despite being the better and mature brother, you turn out to be even more evil than Young Master. I have to keep an eye on you in case you kill me in my sleep.
