The Unleashed

I woke up this morning and went to shower and wash up. I got dressed in leggings and a sports tank top with some combat boots, all in black. It really brought out the red in my hair and eyes. Due to my senses being down because I just woke up I was startled when I saw Inuyasha right there in front of my door.

"Aah", I yelped as soon as I saw him. "What the hell? What are you doing in front of my door?"

"I expected you to know with those powers of yours", he said.

"Well my senses aren't exactly on in the morning", I said. "Now what do you want?"

He leaned in close to my ear. "Kikyou is following me. I need help", he whispered.

"Oh", I said. "Um, what do we do?"

"She's coming down the hall now", he said looking in that direction.

"I know that idiot! I was asking what should we–"

Before I could finish my sentence his lips crashed into mine. He had me against the door and his arms were wrapped around my waist. My arms snaked around his neck. And I don't think it was to put on a show either.

His tongue ran across my lips as if asking for entrance. Not knowing if it was a question for permission or not, I gave it. His tongue slipped in and the taste of his mouth and mine combined into a sweet nectar. Unable to hold it back, I moaned into his mouth.

"Eww, oh my gosh Higurishi, get a room!"

We jumped at the sudden outburst totally forgetting about the main reason why were kissing in the first place. Well, I forgot, I can't speak for him.

I saw Kikyou glare more at me as she waltz by. My cheeks were hot by this time. And it was from the heat of the kiss, not from being caught in the hall making out by his ex.

He turned back to me with a smirk. "Thanks", he said. I only nodded and we began walking to breakfast. "So…" he said.

"So?"

"You enjoyed the kiss, huh?" He had that smirk on his face again.

"Excuse me, sir? Ya wanna run that by me again?"

"I can smell the arousal on you", he said. "If you want me Kagome, just say the word. Maybe I'll give you a taste."

I blushed immensely. Too late for that. "Shut up ass hole", I said walking ahead of him. It can't be that I'm falling for him. And even if I was, he'd actually tease me about it! That only makes me not want to fall for him even more. "Ugh!"

As I continued to walk in a faster pace Inuyasha appeared in front of me causing us to collide. He held me up and looked down into my eyes. "I'm serious", he said with a hint of something in his eyes. I wouldn't know because I haven't had many boyfriends. And with them, the relationships didn't last long.

I bit my lip and looked away from him. He tilted my face back to him with his finger. His golden eyes met my flame colored ones. Our faces grew closer and were just an inch away from touching.

"Wow, Kikyou was right. You are trying to suck face."

We jumped apart and I saw it was Ayame and Rin standing there. I raised my hand to scratch my hair but put it back down. "Um yeah, let's go", I said grabbing my friends arms and walking into the room.

I turned to see Inuyasha and he actually was scratching the back of his head. He also had a dark tint of blush on his face.

Its official, I'm definitely starting to take a liking to him. And I'm not naive to the obvious that he might be feeling the same. Shit, it always happens like this! The two that use to hate each other's guts start to fall for each other's guts. Damn it all to hell!

"Now that we're all here, I think it's about time we come up with a plan", Inutaisho said. "Kagome, what should be our first move."

"Well", I began "for starters we know what he wants. The jewel and me. So what he will try to do is search for my weakness to try and capture me. What I say is let him do it. Let him capture me and we'll infiltrate him through the inside."

"That's too dangerous", Inuyasha said. "To actually give Naraku what he wants? No, not going to happen."

"There shouldn't be any problems, he can't hurt me."

"That's not the point", Inuyasha said.

"Then what is the point", I asked.

"What if it doesn't work", he asked.

"It will, believe me. He doesn't expect me to know how to contact others without technology. Trust me I know what I'm doing."

"Continue Kagome", Inutaisho said.

"I know the reason Naraku is doing what he's doing. He's making an army, and in order to do that he needs the jewel and me and subjects."

"Subjects", Kikyou asked.

"Prisoners", I broke down. "He has prisoners to turn demon to make his army. The same way he created himself as Naraku."

"You mean he has innocent people locked away in his headquarters", Sango asked.

"Yes", I said. "People he had no problem with kidnapping like from less developed countries and people who have no family. Some he kidnapped off the streets. Those missing people signs you see in the grocery stores…"

"Their kidnapped by Naraku", Rin whispered.

"Whoa hold up! This shit is serious", Kikyou said. "I had no idea you dealt with things like this. I'm not fit for this shit! What the hell am I here for?"

"There's a reason we have the same physical features."

"Excuse me", she said.

"You are my less powerful half"', I said. "Us together, un beatable. Which is why we need you here."

"You basically just called me weak", Kikyou said giving me a look of disgust.

"No I called you a solution to end world domination", I said. "Take it as a compliment."

"Yeah because you know you don't deserve it", Ayame mumbled.

"What's the feud between you three for again", Sango asked.

"They stole my spots on the cheer team", Kikyou spat. "And she thinks she's Ms. All That when really she's not, acting like nothing matters."

"That's because I could care less about the small things idiots do in high school", I said shrugging. "I mean really, why be popular where everyone can see you and always pay attention when you can lie low", I said frowning. "You're constantly under surveillance and all eyes are on you. Anything wrong you do people will taunt you for. I don't have time for it so I avoid it."

"Don't waste your breathe Kags", Ayame said.

"Yeah", Rin added. "Kikyou lives for the attention, so talking to her is like asking a man to do a little girl's hair, useless. It'll never work!"

Kikyou rolled her eyes and sat up in her seat unfolding her arms. "Okay now that you–"

"Kikyou, stop trying to make this about you", I said growing tired of her. "This is more than both you and me. We are saving millions here! The fact that you are whining over something stupid like this only makes you look like the bitch everyone already thinks you are. So if I were you I'd shut the fuck up, suck it up, and stop acting like a damn spoiled brat! We have more important things to do than to tend to your special needs. It's either you're in or you're out. I really hope you aren't selfish about this and that you chose to be in for the right reasons. If not, I hope you realize that having the weight on your shoulders because you might be the cause to why the world is going through destruction is not easy!"

She shifted in her seat as everyone eyed her. Her eyes made contact with Inuyasha's and she cleared her throat with a nod. "I'm in."

"Good, now how about we get back to our plan", Miroku said. "It'll save us all the time and other unwanted excitement."

"Right", I said.

"Higher", I said. She kicked. "Higher." Kick. "Higher!" Kick. "This isn't high enough Kikyou! Higher", I yelled.

She growled and tried to send a kick to my face. I caught her foot and she hopped around to find her balance.

"Good job", I said. I dropped her foot and she glared at me. I rolled my eyes. I mean I did just give her a compliment. "Next", I said.

At that Rin came up with a smile. "Hiya", she said.

"Hey, you ready?"

"Yup", she said.

I planted my feet firmly into the ground and lifted my hands. "Kick." She kicked high. "Good, kick." She gave another high kick. I reached to grab he foot; she spun and sent her foot around to kick me around. I blocked it with my forearm. When I blocked it she sent the other foot up and kicked me in the nose snapping my head back. I held my nose and said, "Ouch… that was nice. Felt that one pretty good."

"Om my – I'm so sorry Kaggy. I didn't mean to, I swear!"

"Way to go Rin, you broke Kagome's nose", Ayame joked.

"What", Rin shouted with guilt.

"I smell the blood", Ayame said.

Sesshomaru growled at Ayame.

Ayame just rolled her eyes. "Oh shut up Captain Pup, I was just picking."

Rin's face fell to a straight one. "So I didn't break her nose?"

"How'd I know, I can't see it. It's not my nose, so I can't feel it either."

"But it is bleeding", I said.

"Good job Rin", Kikyou said.

"Aye, Kikyou there's some hot dogs in the cafeteria", Ayame said. "Go put in some practice."

Kikyou rolled her eyes and scoffed. She walked over to her things and drunk some water.

"Imma go get some tissue", I said pinching my nose.

"I'm sorry Kagome", Rin said.

"Oh not a problem, I saw it coming." I didn't think it'd be that soon though. "We need a foot like that. Next time try not to kick your teammate's nose off, 'kay?"

"Gotcha", she said nodding.

I walked out the gym and wince as I tilted my head back. "Ah ah ah", I said.

"Hey Kagome."

Oh God, not now.

"Holy shit, what happened", Inuyasha said.

"Rin kicked me in the face", I said. "Nothing to bad", I said.

"What do you mean nothing too bad", he said. "You're bleeding."

"It was supposed to happen", I said. "Better me than her", I said.

"What do you mean?"

I sighed as he sat me down in the cafeteria and tended to my nose. "Remember when I said no one would get hurt during this mission", I asked.

"Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"I changed that. People would've gotten hurt but I changed its course ahead of time."

"What?"

"Well in time there are many possibilities and loop holes. It depends on what decision you make that will cause a certain thing to happen. We were originally supposed to be practicing combat. Rin was going to get kicked in the face by Ayame and her nose would be broken. Sesshomaru would've gone on rampage and seriously injure Ayame, leaving her out of the plan when we really need her. So I modified the future to only have one loop hole so there'd only be one possibility, me getting a bloody nose."

"But why would you put that on yourself", he asked cleaning the blood. "Couldn't you have done it to where no one got hurt?"

"No, in order for me to change it I have to do it in a way that it still happens so I don't completely mess with time. So if someone got hurt I'd have to change it to where someone would still go through it even if the circumstance is different."

"How many times did you do it", he asked.

"A lot", I replied.

"And", he began "in the end, who gets hurt."

I hesitated before I answered. "I do."

I saw his jaw work as he looked away. "Okay", he said. "Who were the ones who'd originally get hurt", he asked.

"Everyone, including your father", I said. "I had to do it, Inuyasha. If I didn't we would not be able to complete this mission in success. I promised everyone that no one would get hurt. I go by my word."

"You rather go through the pain than have anyone get hurt?"

"Yes", I said.

"Were they major injuries", he asked.

"Yes", I said. "Well… most of them."

"What the hell do you mean most of them?!"

"Well I told Sesshomaru I wouldn't let Rin scratch her knee!"

"You could've just decided not to play in the fucking halls!"

"The reason we were playing in the halls leads to something huge for the mission. If we don't play in the halls we won't get that major clue to help our plan."

"Damn it Kagome", he said. "Are there more than one of these small incidents", he said pacing the floor.

"Maybe", I said. "But I can't change it now, so don't try and make me. Once the loop holes have been erased they can't come back."

"I can't have you hurting yourself for everyone! I mean a scratch on the knee? Who gives a damn?! Slap a fucking band-aid on the bitch!"

"Exactly, so why are you making a big deal out of it?!"

"Because you are putting too much on your fucking shoulders!"

"If that's the case to keep everyone safe so be it! I'd rather die than let the people I care for go down knowing there's something I could've done to stop it. And you can't say you wouldn't do the same Mr. Captain of a secret government war team!" He looked at me with anger in his eyes. "Why does it bother you so much anyways?"

His face softened and his eyes showed that hint again. "Because… I… you're a member of my team. I can't have you get hurt. You're right; I would do the same thing it I could. I just wish it was me doing it and not you. You… I care for you a lot. You're a part of this team which means you're a part of the family."

"I understand, but don't worry about it. I'll heal the next day."

"That's not the point Kagome. Like you said, I'd rather go through it then sit and watch someone I care about do it instead when I can be fixing it."

"But you can't fix", I said.

"But I sure can pray that something pops up so I can." At that he walked out the cafeteria.

I looked down at the bloody tissue and sighed. I guess it's good that I didn't tell him that I'm also preventing him from dying.

"Ugh, fuck me", I groaned.

Hi everyone! Sorry it's a bit short, I wanted it to end right here. I tried to add more to the chapter but there are just some things I can't put I yet. So when it was all down it came up to only seven pages when usually it takes over twenty. Anyway sorry it took awhile, I'm going to update quicker. For many reasons actually. So I can finish all of my incomplete stories, take a break, and start on new ones. One at a time. I'm glad I finished High School Love. That was the first story I ever wrote and it's complete. It's funny though, I begun that story my freshman year and I just finished my junior year. But anyways, I talk to ya peeps later; I gotta work on Moving Fast. See ya!
