A/N: I know it's long after Christmas but let me continue this. Short summary: It's almost Kidsmas and the penguins have to prepare it. The snow is missing and they decide to 'find' it since snow during Kidsmas is a must. However, an advertisement studio 'borrows' them from the zoo, so they will be starring in the company's new ad.
But why the ribbon?
"I can't breathe in this." Kowalski complained, pulling on the red ribbon which had been tied around his neck a moment earlier. "It doesn't make sense. Penguins don't wear ribbons. Or hats for that matter." He looked at the small black topper on Skipper's head in the distance. Actually, it fitted the leader, in the sense that it didn't fall down from his flat head and Kowalski envied him because it seemed way more comfortable than the ribbon. The scientist's tossing and turning made a golden watch slide down from the pile of 'junk' the assistant placed around the avian.
"A peculiar form of a nest." Kowalski mumbled, watching the structure closely and still fighting with the ribbon. "Penguins build rock nests and not golden jewellery nests." He also noticed the white substance around the set. If only he was able to climb down from the 'golden throne' and analyse the ground. But he had to sit still. To his knowledge the commercial had to be about a penguin couple, one bird giving his partner a lot of gifts. Maybe they were advertising a jewellery brand or a place where it was sold. The main idea seemed to be that people should buy those golden things and give them to their beloved ones. But why the ribbon?
The assistant approached the sitting Kowalski and put the elegant Skipper next to him. The older penguin immediately came closer to his friend and not wasting time, he whispered into his earhole: "It's artificial snow. And our prime target. I have seen the machine that produces it." The smirk across Skipper's beak told the taller penguin that there was already a plan under that topper of his. "We're getting out of here with it before the lady finishes her coffee. I didn't sign anything to play a fool. But I'll need the ribbon. Take it off."
"With much pleasure but there is a tiny pin in the back to hold the ribbon in place. I can't reach it." To illustrate the problem, Kowalski tried to reach the pin on the back of his neck with his flippers. However, no luck there.
"Okay, hold still." Skipper skillfully jumped to the top of the golden nest, eyeing the ribbon while awkwardly waving his flippers. "I don't want them to get wind of the plan, so we have to improvise. Nature style."
Not getting a chance to ask what that would mean, Kowalski suddenly felt Skipper's warm breath across his neck. The leader's beak nuzzled his feathers. A chill went down Kowalski's spine and he knew his heart skipped few beats. Actually, it was nice. Okay, more than nice but there were so many people and cameras. In other circumstances he would enjoy the sensation greatly but at that time he just felt embarrassed, reaching the edge of panic. Skipper tried to soothe him with a sound similar to a purr. He had localized the pin and to take it out with his beak, he needed Kowalski to keep still. Not wanting to have his body pierced through, the analyst held his breath and managed to relax.
"No no, no. It's not Discovery. It's a family friendly commercial. Stop doing that." The assistant noticed what the two were doing and picked Skipper up. Right in time when the leader was able to take the pin out and hold it with his beak. He decided that not only the ribbon would come in handy and jabbed the assistant's arm with the pin. The man yelped and immediately let go of Skipper.
"Men, move!" Was the penguin commanding officer's order. Straight off they were next to him as Rico and Private jumped out of the box and Kowalski slid down the jewellery pile. During that time Skipper quickly moved towards the snow cannon which was producing the artificial snow. Making a lasso out of the ribbon, he threw it over the machine changing its position so the snow was falling right on the approaching security guards. "Kowalski, make it snow like there is no tomorrow!"
Following Skipper's request, Kowalski pulled himself to the top of the cannon and in a blink of an eye he spotted the regulator button, turning it on 'max'. Soon enough an avalanche of snow covered the guards from head to toe and it definitely would take them a couple of minutes to escape from that trap.
"Soldiers, we need that baby gun for Kidsman. Operation The Return of Snowmageddon is a go!"
