Happy Friday everyone! Here's another chapter to celebrate the upcoming weekend and last night's VD episode. But I have to say I kind of miss seeing the Mikaelsons - they made Mystic Falls that much more interesting. Oh ,and someone said I had problems with my 'ands' and '&' so I promise I'll work on it!

"You're a bitch, you know that?"

Naomi choked on the blood bag she was drinking. "Excuse me?" she asked in disbelief.

Shelby signed and sat next to Naomi on the living room couch. "This whole situation with Elijah doesn't sit well with me."

Naomi put the bag back up to her mouth ad spoke between sips. "It was my choice to make, not yours. And I already told you that he was totally fine with it." She turned to face the feisty witch. "Besides, I thought you didn't like Elijah?"

Shelby waved away her question. "Don't mistake my threatening him for me not approving of the guy. I only did that to make sure that he wouldn't mess anything up." She glared at Naomi. "Obviously the warning was misplaced though since you're the one making a huge mistake."

Naomi opened her mouth to defend herself but was quickly cut off by Shelby. "You shut that man down hard and you know it. After he'd been trying so hard, too."

"Like I said, he was okay with it. Really," she added after Shelby gave her another look.

Naomi stood up to go to her room and get away from Shelby, not to mention the utterly uncomfortable conversation they were having, when she found herself unable to move. Try as she might, she just couldn't straighten from the awkward half-sitting, half-standing position she was currently in.

"I don't think so," tsked Shelby from behind her.

Naomi gritted her teeth and struggled against the magical hold placed on her. "What if my phone rings?" she finally said, having given up on moving using sheer will alone. It was a lame excuse but few things mattered more to Shelby than family, practicing magic, and checking phone updates. The witch was silent as she thought about it. Naomi couldn't see her face as she was frozen facing away from Shelby, but she crossed her fingers Shelby would release her from the magical takeover.

"Nope," Shelby announced. "Not unless the phone-" Naomi's phone chirped on the table, "-actually rings."

Naomi laughed as she heard Shelby pout in defeat. "Fine."

Naomi celebrated the returning feeling to her limbs as her eyes quickly scanned the screen. Her frown turned into a smile as she typed something back. Meanwhile Shelby sat on the couch, confused. "What is it?"

"Rebekah wants to meet up at the Grill, so see you later!" Then she ran out of the room using her vampire speed before Shelby could ask more questions or put another spell on her.

Her friend merely threw her hands up in the air. "Hey, I tried."

"I'm sorry, were you in the middle of something?" asked Rebekah as the two girls embraced each other near the bar at the Mystic Falls Grill.

Naomi laughed. "Would it have really matter if I was?"

"Good point," admitted Rebekah. "Seeing as how I'm your best friend there's not much more important than me in your life."

"Gee thanks." Pleasantries out of the way they sat down on the high wooden bar stools.

"So why the urgent text demanding to see me?" questioned Naomi.

The annoyance coming off from Rebekah was almost tangible. "I need a break from them. Desperatley."

Naomi started to put the pieces together. "Them being..."

"My brothers, of course. Not even a month after reuniting with them and they've already driven me to the brink of insanity. I swear it's like nothing has changed," she groaned.

"Doesn't sound like it," chuckled Naomi. Having lived with them for a few centuries she knew that deep down the Mikalesons really did love one another but their outer actions didn't always convey that. Kol especially, loved nothing more than to annoy his family members, particularly Bekah, and Naomi knew instinctively that he was the reason for Rebekah's frustrations.

"What did he do this time?"

Rebekah groaned and rubbed her temples. "He keeps teasing me about this boy he thinks I like and he won't stop. From the time I wake up until bedtime all I hear from him is 'another one Bekah?' or 'when do the rest of us get to meet the commoner?' This morning he had to gall to ask if we had gotten the chance to break in my new bed yet."

Naomi could relate. It was hard to deal with your relationships when everyone was constantly pestering you about it. "And do you?" she said. "Like him, I mean?"

"Don't be silly. I know better than to fall for someone, especially with my crazy, infuriating brothers hanging around."

"And I know you better than that; you're totally smitten, it's all over your face."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Rebekah said in her haughtiest voice.

Naomi only giggled. "Come on, I not making fun of you, Bekah, I swear. I just want to know more about him, what he looks like, anything."

"Well..." Rebekah cracked a small smile. "He's a blond, has a decent build. Not to mention he's got these absolutely gorgeous baby blue eyes. I've always had a weakness for those as you know."

"Light blue eyes you say?" Naomi's face went blank and her words were hushed.

Rebekah nodded her head.

"He doesn't work here by chance, does he?"

"Actually, he does." Rebekah looked surprised. "But how did you know that?"

"Because there's man with that exact description right behind you... and he's coming straight towards us."

The girls barely had time to turn to look at the bus boy before he started talking to them, or at least to Bekah. "What are you doing here?" he asked gruffly.

"Hello, Matt," Rebekah answered shyly, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Just answer the question."

"My friend and I just came for drinks," she said, sadness evident in her voice. "Listen, I'm extremely sorry about what happened-"

The bus boy, or rather Matt Naomi reminded herself, didn't let Bekah finish. "I don't want to hear it," he said warily. "Promise me that you won't cause trouble and I'll let you stay."

Rebekah nodded her head and he tipped his head towards Naomi before leaving them alone. The two girls didn't speak for a moment.

"That was him, huh?"

"Yes, it was." Rebekah rubbed her temples. "And did I mention that he hates me?"

Naomi rubbed Rebekah's back soothingly. "Tell me what happened."

Ordering a shot, or a glass of starwberry virgin daiquiri in Naomi's case, Rebekah proceeded to update her on the Matt issue. "And ever since that stupid party he barely tolerates me," she ended.

Naomi wanted to be on her friend's side but she could understand Matt's point of view. "You did get Kol to almost kill him, Bekah. He's going to need time to forgive you before he wants to be friendly with you again."

"I know, I'm a terrible person. Admitting it still doesn't help the situation or make me feel better though."

Suddenly another group in the Grill laughed loudly drawing Naomi and Rebekah's attention. There were two young girls, one blond and the other with darker skin and hair, Matt leaning against their table. Rebekah looked annoyed at their presence, clearly knowing them, but Naomi had never seen them before.

"What's the deal with them?"

Rebekah sighed but deigned to explain things to Naomi. "They're all friends from high school - the only one missing is Elena, but trust me you'll hate her as much as I do." At Naomi's look she said, "I'll explain later. Any way, Matt and Elena are humans, Bonnie's the witch, and Caroline, the blond one, is a vampire slash Klaus' latest love interest. Combined with the two Salvatore brothers they make up the group of Mystic Falls inhabitants that wish my whole family dead"

"Really," said Naomi speculatively. "I guess she does seem like his type."

"Was that really the only thing you paid attention to?"

"Never mind, I thinking out loud. But why on earth do they want to kill you?"

Rebekah shrugged her shoulders. "Something about them wanting to be human again but to do that they need to kill the original who sired their line. Only problem is they don't know how did it and, to be honest, we don't really know either. So Niklaus has been plotting on how to get rid of them."

Naomi chuckled nervously. "Well if Klaus is the one dealing with them it's no wonder they feel that way. He can be a little heavy on the violence."

"Are you honestly taking their side in this?" Rebekah said in disbelief. "You realize that once they find out about you that you'll be on their list as well? They're a bunch of naïve children that need to be dealt with for the sake of us all"

"Does that include Matt?"

Rebekah didn't sound so sure but said, "If comes to that."

Naomi reached out to finish her drink. Scooting her chair back she got up and started walking. "Were are you going," called out Bekah.

"To talk with them, get to know them. Maybe if someone bothered to show them we're not all murderous, rampaging Originals they would think twice about trying to eliminate your family."

"And you think that plan will work?"

"I'm not one-hundred percent sure but as the saying goes, kill them with kindness," Naomi retorted. Separating from their spot at the bar Naomi put on a smile and walked over to the other table. Rebekah stayed back, opting to order another drink. "This ought to be interesting," she mumbled. Tossing back the shot she got up reluctantly to make sure Naomi didn't get staked or something.
