I don't own Harry Potter or Pokémon

Battle and trip

"Potter, I demand that we have a battle." Harry groaned as he faced Malfoy with his Charmander.

"No offence Malfoy but the power levels between your Charmander and Lucario are too big a difference."

"Personally, I think you should do it," said Neville as he watched the interaction. "What do you think Sky?"

"Well, it will give him an idea as to what happens if you get too overconfident," said Sky. "Harry, I think you should do it."

"Fine. What limits are there?" asked Harry as he turned back to Malfoy.

"None. Just give me a challenge."

Harry glanced at Sky. "Should I use that?"

"It's up to you. Just let's take it outside. If you do, it would be useful as an example."

The whole class walked outside and Harry and Malfoy stood opposite each other.

"Ready for this Lucario?"

Not even going to give me a work out.

"Charmander, use ember!"

"Lucario, dodge it." Lucario jumped clear of the flames. "Let's Mega Evolve!"

Harry pressed the keystone and streams of energy shot out towards Lucario's Lucarionite. Lucario began to glow and change. His cram fur became longer, more pikes grew on his paws and parts of his fur became crimson.

"What?" asked Malfoy in surprise.

"How do you like Mega Lucario?" asked Harry as he cocked his head. "Anyway, since we're in battle, I'd better make my mover. Mega Lucario, use power up punch! But hold back."

Mega Lucario shot towards Charmander and punched it. Charmander flew back and barely managed to get back onto his feet.

"Charmander, ember again!"

"Mega Lucario, bone rush!"

Mega Lucario summoned a bone and started to hit Charmander with it when he suddenly returned to normal.

"The battle's over," said Harry.

"What?" asked Malfoy.

"There's only two ways for Mega Lucario to return to Lucario. One is that he faints and the oter is when the battle ends. As you can see, Lucario hasn't fainted so the battle has finished."

The smoke faded and Charmander lay on his back with spirals in his eyes.

"Charmander, eat this." Harry fed Charmander an Oran Berry and he groggily got up. "Let this be a lesson about not challenging people too far above you in strength."

"How did Lucario change though?" asked Hermione as her Hoot-Hoot landed on her shoulder.

"That's Mega Evolution," explained Sky. "Some Pokémon, with a trainer with a keystone and te right Mega Stone, can change their shape. It makes them more powerful."

"Really?" asked Malfoy. "Potter, you will give me yours."

"Sorry Malfoy but I can't because Lucario's Mega Stone doesn't work for Charmander," explained Harry.

"Also, I have arranged for us to go on a weekend trip to Striation City in a few months," continued Sky. People started to chatter.

Few months later

"It feels good to be back," said Harry as he looked around the familiar city. "I'm going to the gym. Or shall I get Lucario checked on?"

"Gym?" A black haired boy ran over to him. "Do you know where it is?"

"Uh, who are you?" asked Harry.

"I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and I'm challenging the League."

"All ready to go and not knowing where he's going,2 said the girl that joined him. "Just like a kid."

She handed the Axew in her hair an apple.

"Say, an Axew. Tusks like newly sprouted young shots and a future as bright as the morning sun. Huh? A Pikachu? Wow!" The green haired boy picked up the yellow mouse and started to examine it. "It's the first time I've seen one up close!"

Let me go!

"Cilan, Pikachu doesn't like that," said Harry with a sigh. "I know it's a rare Pokémon here but…"

"Huh? Harry and Lucario. How have you been?"

"Oh, fine. This one is looking for the gym Cilan."

"Huh? Really?"

"Uh, I'm Ash form Kanto," introduced Ash. "Pikachu is my special partner."

"How do you do? I'm Cilan, a Pokémon connoisseur."

"What's that?"

"Such a little kid," muttered the girl. "How do you not know what that is?"

"It's not surprising at all. It's not a well-known job outside the Unova region," explained Cilan. "I use my experience to judge the compatibility between people and Pokémon."

"Anyway, I'd better get going. I'll see you around then." Harry headed towards the Pokémon centre. "Do you mind giving Lucario a check-up Nurse Joy?"

"No Harry." The pink haired woman and her Audino walked away with Lucario. Harry found a place to sit and started to fiddle with his styler. An hour later, Ash walked in with his Pokémon.

"Hey Ash! How did your battle go?"

"I challenged all three of the leaders and got the badge," said Ash as he walked over after handing his Pokémon to Nurse Joy.

"Oh, Harry, your Lucario is just fine," said Nurse Joy as Lucario walked over to him.

"Lucario huh?" muttered Ash as he pulled out his Pokedex.

Lucario, the Aura Pokémon. Lucario has the power to detect their opponent's thoughts and actions by reading their aura.

"I've had Lucario ever since he was a Riolu," said Harry as he scratched Lucario's head.

"Hey Ash. I wanted to ask you a few questions." Cilan walked over.

"Nurse Joy!" Neville ran in with Ferrothorn. "Something's wrong."

People started to flood in.

"What's happening?" asked Harry as he walked over.

"You see those pink lights?" asked Jackie as he walked over. They looked at the lights. "They're causing Pokémon to go to sleep whenever they hit one."

"Nurse Joy!" The girl ran in with Axew.

"I never got her name," Sid Harry.

"It's Iris," said Ash.

"Here. Let me see." Harry put his hand over Axew and closed his eyes. A blue glow covered his hand and Axew woke up. "There you are."

"What? How did you do that?" asked Hermione as she walked over.

"I just used my aura. It comes with being part Pokémon."

"Seriously?" asked Iris sceptically.

"It's true," agreed Cilan. "I don't know if you noticed but it takes a lot to knock Harry out."

"And look at this." Harry inhaled before spitting out embers. "Not even Sky can do that. Hello Professor Fennal."

"What's happening?" asked Fennel as she looked around.

"How's Munna?"

I'm fine.

"that's good to hear." Harry walked outside as Officer Jenny rode up.

"I suggest that you keep all your Pokémon inside their pokeballs."

"Uh, Pikachu doesn't like his poke ball," said Ash.

"And I'm strictly speaking not supposed to keep Lucario in one," said Harry. Fennel used Ash's cap to stop the sparkles hitting Pikachu.

"Harry, we'll stay here and help the people. You go help find the source of this," said Jack as she approached.

"Right."

"What? Isn't that dangerous?" asked Ron.

"It's what we do. We help people and Pokémon in need," explained Harry. Lucario nodded as a blue aura covered him. "Where shall we start?"

His styler beeped. The source of the sparkles seem to be focused in the Dream Yard. There was a spike of energy there a few moments ago.

"The dream Yard," said Fennel Musharna. Officer Jenny nodded and drove them there.

"No Pokémon around," said Harry as he used his styler to scan the area. "That's not good."

"Team Rocket!"

"Well, well. If it isn't the twerp."

"Team Rocket? What are they doing in Unova?" asked Harry. "Anyway, you have to stop this!"

"WE can't. we're using the residual energy for the advancement of Team Rocket!"

Harry, let's stop this people. Let's Mega evolve.

"You sure about that?" asked Harry as he glanced at Lucario. A veil appeared and a cry rang out. "That's Musharna."

Eventually Musharna appeared and Fennel ran towards the Pokémon only to be stopped by beams of light as Team Rocket caught it.

"Ok, got no choice. Lucario, power up punch!" Lucario ran forwards as its fist glowed only to get knocked back. "Not enough speed."

"Pikachu, volt tackle!"

Pikachu ran forwards as electricity built up around it only to get knocked back as well.

"If only Lucario was faster," muttered Harry.

"And it's not like Lucario can evolve," said Cilan as he overheard Harry.

"Evolve... I guess I have no choice. Lucario, let's Mega Evolve!"

The familiar energy caused Lucario to change his shape.

"What just happened?" asked Iris.

"Not the time Iris. Mega Lucario, use power up punch again." Mega Lucario shot forwards and punched the machine. "Keep using power up punch!"

"Power up punch?" asked Ash.

"It's not a move I heard of," said Cilan.

"Whenever Lucario lands a hit with power up punch, his attacks get stringer," explained Harry. The machine exploded and Lucario jumped back. "Where's Musharna?"

The Pokémon appeared next to Fennel who hugged it as Team Rocket flew away. Lucario returned to his normal form.

"What just happened with Lucario?" asked Iris.

"Lucario Mega Evolved. It's a temporary state where the Pokémon gets stronger. That shouldn't have worked as its only possible in battle," explaind Harry. "Let's get back to the city."
