"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Ja-ade, Happy Birthday to you."

A week after James had come to visit, Jade had her 18th birthday. She was delightfully woken the morning of the day, by a soft rendition of the traditional birthday song, sung amazingly by her girlfriend.

"Happy Birthday, Baby." Tori whispered, kissing her dozing partners cheek. "Wake up so you can eat this yummy breakfast."

Cracking her eyes open, the pale girl was greeted firstly by two large coffee coloured orbs, before they were moved so she could see the tray of waffles and coffee her girlfriend had prepared. A grin broke out on her face as she sat up and kissed Tori properly.

"Thanks, Sweetheart. It looks amazing." Coffee was quickly consumed as Jade tucked into her birthday breakfast unabashedly.

The tanned girl watched with a small smile as Jade's plump pink lips were covered with cream and chocolate sauce. "Are you ready for the best birthday ever?" She teased.

Cocking her head, the dark-haired girl looked at her girlfriend suspiciously, "You made plans?"

"Be prepared for the best birthday you've ever experienced." Tori confirmed with a nod and Jade gave her a small puzzled smile before tucking back into her breakfast.

A small giggle was heard outside the door and Tori placed her hand over her mouth to hide her growing smile from her girlfriend. Jade looked up at her curiously and then over at the door.

"What's the little monster up to?" She asked, finishing off her food and washing it down with the remains of her coffee. Tori grinned and went over to the door, opening it a crack so she could slip out and shutting it behind her.

Jade watched her go, a puzzled look plastered over her face as she heard a small commotion outside of the bedroom. "Hey! What are you guys doing out there?!" She called out, standing to walk over to door, "I'm coming out." She warned before opening the door into the apartment.

What met her gaze almost instantly had her welling up. Laid out on the coffee table were copious amounts of presents all colourfully wrapped and tied with ribbons. Balloons; streamers; and a large 'Happy Birthday' banner decorated the apartment, her two favourite people in the world standing grinning at her from just outside the door. Tori and Chase wore matching onsies and as Jade emerged from the bedroom, Tori pushed one in her hands.

"Put that on first!" She ordered and the birthday girl quickly slipped into it with a roll of her eyes, disbelieving of the fact her family and herself were now all wearing matching clothes.

Once Jade was dressed Chase threw himself at her, kissing her and wishing her a happy birthday, wriggling from her hug to drag her to the couch.

"Tor Tor, can we give her the surprise first?!" He begged excitedly and Tori nodded, going into Chase's room and returning with a big box, wrapped to enable Jade to just lift the lid to see the contents.

The half-Latina carried it carefully and very gently placed it on Jade's lap, "It's breakable." She warned, sitting in the chair next to the sofa, an eager look on her face.

Jade nervously looked down at the box, unsure how to receive presents - she had never really got any and was anxious Tori would be disappointed with her reaction. Slowly, she lifted the lid of the box and peered in, a small, "Oh" leaving her lips as she saw what it contained.

Two bunnies, a black one and a grey one, peered up at her, their little noses twitching excitedly. A pale hand reached in to gently stroke the adorable creatures and they sniffed it suspiciously before nuzzling in to be stroked.

"This is the best birthday ever." Jade whispered tearfully, her voice cracking as Tori took the rabbits and placed them in the pre-prepared cage she had hidden.

Once they were put away safely Tori sat on Jade's lap and wrapped her arms around her pale neck. "This is my favourite day of the year, 'cause it's the day my soul mate was born." She said cheesily, kissing plump, pink lips and pulling Chase into the embrace.

"We got bunnies, Jadey!" He squealed and Jade chuckled, stroking his hair.

"We sure do, Munchkin. You gunna help Tor Tor and I look after them?" She cooed and he nodded enthusiastically.

The next few hours were spent opening presents and eating the random foods that Tori had brought for the celebration, the birthday girl's heart warmed by the extent of the festivities.

Just after lunch, Tori stood and held her hand out for Jade. "Right, Babe. Time for phase two of the birthday celebrations." She said excitedly and the raven-haired girl cocked her head in inquiry.

"Oh yeah? And what is phase two, my love?" Jade asked and Tori shook her head, Chase standing to jump into Tori's arms.

"No, Jadey. It's a supwiseeee." He groaned, rolling his eyes in true West fashion. The gesture from the small boy caused much amusement between the teens and he eventually got tired of them, climbing down from Tori's arms and running off to get dressed, claiming he was "a big boy who could dwess himself."

When he had disappeared Jade closed the space between herself and her girlfriend, wrapping her up and kissing all over her face. "I love you so much, Tori Vega. Infinitely so." She murmured, puffy pink lips sourcing thinner, darker ones.

Leaning into Jade's embrace, Tori exhaled happily. "I love you too, Beautiful." She whispered, returning the kiss before pulling away. "Now let's go get dressed and commence with phase two."

The pale woman laughed at how weird her girlfriend was, "You're the cutest dork ever." She chuckled, dragging them both off to get dressed.

oooOOOooo

"Ta dah!"

Tori removed the blindfold from the birthday girl's face and revealed to her, phase two. Blinking slowly, Jade's eyes took a second to revert back to sunlight hours before she could focus on the huge old, brick building that stood in front of her. It was half covered with ivy and the garden outside was completely overgrown.

The buildings paint job was severely worn, half of it missing and the rest barely visible on the brick. The old metal fence surrounding the grounds was completely rusted and the gate in front of them was hanging on by one hinge.

"It's the abandoned hospital you wanted to go to." The half-Latina explained excitedly and Chase clung onto her a little tighter.

Jade's eyes grew wide with realization and she spun around to throw herself at her small family. "Oh my god! Tori, thank you, thank you, thank you." She spoke between kisses to both her girlfriends and brothers face.

Grinning, the half-Latina chuckled at Jade's joy. "We have permission to explore until four, which gives us three hours…"

At that, Jade was off. "Come on, losers!" She called behind her and paused for a second to run back and grab Tori's hand, dragging them into the building.

The glass roof of the lobby had fallen in and over the years huge trees had grown inside, as well as other vegetation. "Holy mother of Steve." The dark girl whispered, taking her camera (that Tori had brought along knowing her girlfriend would want to shoot this amazing experience) and crouching to get the optimum frames. "This is unbelievable." She muttered as they ventured further through the mini jungle, eventually stumbling upon the, once grand, staircase.

Turning to the pair behind her, she noted how Chase clung to Tori tightly, his little legs and arms wrapped firmly around her. "Baby, get on my back." She ordered, turning back around to allow him to switch from Tori's body to Jade's. "Tor, step where I step and be careful."

The tanned girl, now free from the confines of Chase's weight and grip, nodded happily and followed closely behind the West siblings as they slowly made their way up the moss covered stairs. Obviously, Jade reached the top first and she position herself to take a shot of the girl still ascending the staircase.

Due to the broken roof, the light was refracting in odd patterns around the building and that caused a bizarre ethereal haze to surround the youngest Vega. The picture looked as though an angel was emerging from the trees and Jade grinned at it, knowing it was going to be a special piece in her work.

I am so so so sorry about this story. This will probably be the last (and the worst) update for Open Your Heart. Sadly, I have fallen out of love with this particular story and I am no longer writing for Jori. I will always hold this pairing so dear to my heart as they helped me realize and come to accept many things about myself; you never know, maybe I'll start writing for them again in the future, but for now I say goodbye on the Jori front. I do have some Jori fics saved to my laptop that I may finish and post though, so not all is lost!

Thank you to all my faithful readers, you have been so wonderful! I appreciate every review, favourite and follow more than you can imagine, so thank you. Hopefully you will enjoy any of my already written Jori fics that I may post in the future, or maybe you'll even read the Faberry fics I'm going to write and post! So, one last time, thank you, thank you, thank you, you're all inspirations, much love and god bless.
