Okay...this is really short 'cause I wrote and edited it in 30 minutes but I really wanted to get it up today. DEDICATION TO 9/11 VICTIMS! :D Oh, and ir's ZADR. No like, no read please. :3

Zim stared at the tearing up Dib from across the library. Dib was trying to hide his face in his behind his book. Zim had been here for a few years now, three to be exact, so he knew this was not normal for the human outcast. He pulled out a piece of notebook paper, and quickly jotted down a note, crumpled it up and threw it at Dib. It bounced off the boy's head, and he looked up in surprise, hand on the spot where the note hit him. He saw the wad on his desk, and looked around. Spotting Zim, he arched an eyebrow and opened the note.

Why are you acting so weird?

Dib sighed, deciding to just go with the truth. Zim could sniff out a lie, on paper or not. He picked up a pencil and wrote his answer back.

Because of the day it is. Why do you of all people care?

He tossed it back to Zim, and went back to hiding. A few minutes later however, the note hit him again. He sighed in slight irritation as he opened it and read the reply.

What day is it? And it was just bothering me. Don't know why.

Dib furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and wrote his reply.

You've seriously never heard of 9/11? ...actually, forget I asked that. All in all, a lot of people died today a few years ago, including my mom.

He tossed it back to Zim with an eye roll. He watched Zim's reaction as he read the note. Zim's eyes grew wide at the end of the note, and he looked up at Dib with an apologetic look. Dib simply waved it off, to show it was okay. He went back to hiding.

Zim reread the note when Dib went back to hiding, then got up and walked over to him. He grabbed his arm, and pulled him up.

"Wha-? Zim! What're you doing?" Zim rolled his eyes as he dragged Dib behind him to a corner of the library where no one was watching, and it was slightly dark.

"Shh, we're in a library. And I don't need people watching us." Zim whispered to him. He pulled him into the corner, and they both slid down the wall so they were sitting on the floor.

"So, your mom died? How?" Zim whispered.

"She was in this terrorist attack that happened in 2001, I was four. The terrorists crashed planes into the twin towers in New York, and another landed in a field because the passengers got a hold of the controls." Dib responded, looking at the ground between his legs.

"I bet you miss her." Zim muttered, more to himself.

"More than anything. She was the only person in the world that ever believed in my beliefs, or loved and payed attention to me." Dib choked back a sob. Zim looked up in worry at the boy.

"Dib..." he whispered, sorrow in his voice. Zim suddenly got an idea, that he hoped would cheer the boy up. He leaned forward, and placed a kiss on Dib's lips. Dib's eyes went wide as he stared at Zim, then he relaxed into the kiss and pulled the alien closer. They made the kiss deeper, until they had to part for air.

"Thanks, that helped a lot." Dib smiled at Zim, who smiled back.

"Welcome."
