Summary: Pansy had always been number one. She always would be.

XX

Pansy Parkinson had always been number one. Everything was about Pansy and her alone. Her mother had passed away in childbirth, leaving her the only thing her father had left. Mr. Parkinson doted on his daughter. He loved her so. She grew up to look exactly like his late wife so he doted on her. Make Pansy happy, and then she would be happy as well.

When she was nine years old, her perfect life fell apart. Her father had promised her that he would never remarry, but in August of her ninth year of life, he met a woman. She was beautiful and kind and wonderful. Pansy hated her.

When Mr. Parkinson left the house, the new Mrs. Parkinson would tell all the house elves to "take a break". She would then order her new daughter to "help her clean" so they could "bond". It was, according to her, what she did with her mother. Pansy hated it.

The new Mrs. Parkinson was young and naïve. She supposedly came from a Pureblood family, but Pansy had her doubts. But she… she wouldn't do. She wasn't an evil stepmother. Quite the opposite. But Pansy… Pansy didn't like her at all.

When Pansy Parkinson turned fourteen years old, her father did not return to the Dark Lord's side. Mrs. Parkinson was found dead the very next day.

And once again, everything was about Pansy Parkinson. Once again, she was number one.
