This chapter was even more emotionally draining than the last one...my goodness. I don't own pokemon, nintendo does and...yeah...this is it, guys...enjoy.

"SABLEYE!" Dusknoir called, six Sableye got to their feet and scrambled over to him.

"Yes sir?" Their voices were still as scratchy as ever, but they no longer seemed menacing.

"Some of you go find out where Master Dialga's headed-"

"Master Dialga?" Umbreon glanced at him.

"Sorry, for of habit. Find out where Dialga went and report back to me. The rest of you, gather all the Sableye you can and gather here...I wish to address you as a group."

The Sableye nodded and headed out.

"Umbreon...it's so nice to see you again...you saved my life." I said. I still couldn't get up. Even if we found Dialga, would I be able to chase him anymore? I mean...I would get up, right? I always got back up.

"Yep, and not for the first time."

"Hm?" I asked.

"Well...I wasn't going to tell you this, but when you and Kitten and Eric were at the stockade...I was there, and I dropped a Luminous Orb so that you could escape." Umbreon explained, puffing out her chest a little.

"That was you?!" Dusknoir asked. "I wondered where that came from, considering Grovyle had no items at the time."

"But wait..." Dusknoir started. "The last time I saw you was in Dusk Forest. How did you make it out here?"

"I let her out." Celebi chirped. "After I sent Grovyle, Kitten, and Eric back to the past, I ran into Umbreon. I told her about everything that happened. She said she did everything she could in the Hidden Land, and wanted to get out, so I let her out."

"I've been collecting food and distributing it to those who need it, and I've recruited small children to help me. It gives them a purpose. The oldest one is taking care of them, now." Umbreon explained.

"Sounds like you've been doing...some real good." I coughed and...was that blood? That wasn't good.

"Oh, that reminds me. I found an Oran Berry during my travels. Can we all agree Grovyle gets it?" Umbreon asked. Everyone was in consensus, and I ate the Oran Berry.

"I've said it once, and I'll say it again. That thing is a miracle fruit." I felt my strength being restored. My pain eased, and I could get to my feet. "Thank you, Umbreon."

"No problem...so, Kitten is a Skitty now and has no memory of us...and she's part of Wigglytuff's guild and has a new partner?"

"Yes. That's right. It sounds so strange when you say it out loud...then again, our whole lives have been rather strange." I chuckled.

"So, my dear Grovyle! I'm dying to hear, what happened after I sent you three to the past?" Celebi asked.

"Everything went so much more smoothly!" I smiled. "Guardians of the Time Gears had five of them waiting for me at the Underground Lake, and Wigglytuff's guild helped us find the way to the Hidden Land. Lapras ferried us there. Does anyone know Lapras?"

Apparently, nobody knew Lapras.

"And then of course Dusknoir got in the way but I pushed him into a portal to the future and left Kitten and Eric to press on. They should be scaling Temporal Tower now, or if not, they should be soon. Dusknoir and I traveled under truce together for a while, and here we are." I finished. We were all catching up like old friends. I enjoyed this. I wished I had more time to just...have a group of Pokemon I was friends with and could spend time with without worrying about the fate of the world. Dusknoir remained quiet, sitting somewhat apart from the rest of us. But now he spoke up.

"Can you ever forgive me?" Dusknoir said. I laughed. "What?"

"Dusknoir, we're all about to die! What use is there in keeping a grudge against you?" I said. "Just don't get in the way again."

"I understand..." Dusknoir trailed off.

We heard...scurrying? Dusknoir perked up and looked down at a valley we were overlooking. There were...at least one hundred Sableye. My heartbeat quickened a little bit. After all of this, Sabelye still made me a little nervous, especially that many. They were all moving around and making noise, but then Dusknoir held up a hand. They were all dead silent and completely still.

"Weh-heh...We're back, Dusknoir, sir." I glanced back. The Sableye that had gone to find Dialga.

"Report." Dusknoir instructed. He had the same air about him now as he had before. Authoritarian leader. These Sableye would do whatever he said. How had he managed to get such a skeevy bunch of characters under such complete control.

"Dialga is headed up that mountain." One of them said, pointing at the vast mountain behind us. "He seems to be on a rampage, completely out of his mind."

"Very good, well done." Dusknoir said. The Sableye looked so proud of themselves. It was possible that Dusknoir did not give compliments lightly. "Now please, join your brethren."

The Sableye slid down the slope to join the others.

"Um...we might have a problem." Celebi said, her eyes wide.

"Why is that?" Umbreon asked.

"There's a Passage of Time on that mountain." Celebi explained.

"There's more than one?" I asked.

"Of course there's more than one!" Celebi snapped.

"I didn't know."

"I know, I'm sorry. I'm just worried. Dialga, the being of time, on a total rampage. I don't know what would happen if he were to run into the Passage of Time in this state, but I know it can't be good! We have to stop that from happening!" She seemed to be in a bit of a panic.

"Allow me to address the Sableye." Dusknoir said, gently.

"You two go on up ahead and find the best path up. We'll catch up with you."

"Ok." Umbreon and Celebi said, and they were off.

"Why are you staying?" Dusknoir asked.

"Just in case." I replied, a smirk on my face. Dusknoir chuckled.

"Grovyle, you are beyond cautious!"

"That's right. Now hurry up, we don't have much time."

Dusknoir nodded, then raised his hand again, getting the Sableye's attention.

"Sableye! Up until this point, we have been fighting tirelessly against Grovyle, his friends, and everything they stand for in order to protect this world of ours. We did some things we are not proud of in the name of survival. We accepted the state of this world because we did not want to disappear from history! However! I ask you all to look up. These are the auroras, just one of the many marvels that graced this world before the Planet's Paralysis. You have been just...so incredible. You defied Master Dialga in order to follow me. I know used unnecessary force while disciplining you all, and for that I sincerely apologize. You all have been the most amazing team to fight alongside...and we fought so hard, too. But...it's time to let go."

The realization of what was happening must have gotten to him, because he took a deep breath to compose himself before he continued.

"This is the last time I will be talking to all of you. I ask you to make peace with yourselves, with each other, and with this world. Because tonight, we fight." he floated forward a few inches. "For the future, and for new life! And when morning comes, we will die...together."

Applause and cheering erupted from the valley bellow us.

This, right here, is what made Dusknoir such a great leader.

Dusknoir turned around and floated toward the mountain. I followed after him.

"You really care for them, don't you?" I asked.

"Yes...I do. I can't say I entirely understand the dynamic we share...but I do care for them. They just wanted to survive more than anything..."

"Are you afraid some of them will turn on you?"

"No. By defying Dialga, they already consented to death, and this is much more noble They might be upset and confused, but they will accept it."

We walked along the path and ran into Umbreon and Celebi. It wasn't a very hard thing to do. Just had to spot the pink and black against the gray mountain.

"Judging by the applause, that was quite a speech." Umbreon said.

"Come on, we have to get up the mountain...Dialga...if Dialga reaches the Passage of Time! He could completely ruin time forever! He could undo all of our work! I don't know what he would do. But it wouldn't be good, so let's move." Celebi seemed freaked out, so without further hesitation, we started to climb. This mountain wasn't nearly as steep as the one before, so I could walk most of the way. Still, there were some sheer cliffs, I did the same thing as before, claws in the ice, hand foot, hand foot. Umbreon had to be carried by Dusknoir during these sections of the mountain, since she really wasn't built to scale walls.

"It's getting brighter. Dawn is near." I noted. And, in fact, it was. The ice was starting to look blue instead of gray. The ice made the light look brighter than it really was, but still. History was changing.

"We need to hurry." Umbreon said.

"This will be the final fight...we need to bring Dialga back to his senses." Dusknoir agreed.

I smiled. This was what I had been fighting for all this time. We just had to fight a little bit longer...

A small ball of light left my arm and flew up into the sky, where it quickly dissipated.

I knew what that was, it was the same as when I used absorb on other Pokemon. It was my life force.

Shocked, I fell back. Dusknoir caught me. Don't...don't tell me, I was starting to disappear already?

"Is something wrong, Grovyle?" Celebi asked.

"N-no. It's nothing. Just tired." I gasped. Dusknoir and Celebi floated to the next path and let us rest for a moment.

Kitten...it's just a little longer, Kitten. I can see the top of the mountain. It's so strange, I always imagined we would disappear instantaneously, as soon as history changed. But...it's all happening so slowly. Everything we've been working toward...Everything we dreamed of. Just a little longer and we can achieve our goals...I wonder...will I be able to see this world in the light of the Sun? I hope so...and I hope you will see it too, somehow. But...until the end when I disappear...Kitten! Lend me your strength!

"Ready to go?" Umbreon asked.

"...Yeah."

And so we made our way up to the pinnacle, guided by the glow of the Passage of Time, and there he was.

Primal Dialga.

He was every bit as menacing as he was when I faced him with Kitten and Eric. Unfortunately, the object wasn't to get past him, but to fight him. How could one even fight a titan like him? Well, we were about to find out.

Dialga roared, and it sent us flying back.

"Is everyone ok?" I asked.

"Not good, but we'll manage." Umbreom replied.

Dialga collapsed on one leg, breathing heavily. He growled unintelligibly.

"MASTER DIALGA! YOU MUST LISTEN TO US!" Dusknoir called out, but Dialga did not seem to hear. He merely roared again.

"I think Dialga...is in pain." Celebi observed. "The world is moving, bit by bit...it seems to be hurting him. Maybe he won't listen to reason, but at least he'll go down easier!"

Dialga roared again. He was absolutely furious. Why did he not attack? Could he not move?

"This area...bit by bit..." Umbreon said.

"It's getting brighter." Celebi finished. The wind kicked up some snow.

"The wind is getting stronger." I observed, in awe.

And then, an orb of light escaped Dialga...and then another. It was starting. Dialga was disappearing!

...And so were we.

"What is...this light?" Dusknoir asked.

"Our life force. Our life force is fading. We are starting to disappear."

"I see...History is being distorted!"

"History...distorted?!" Umbreon and Celebi's eyes went wide.

"Our...the end is coming! It's getting close!"

"What?!" Celebi questioned.

"Until we disappear, we should do everything we can to bring Dialga back to his senses. That's the least we can do."

"For the future!" I called out.

"For new life!" the rest echoed.

We lunged at him, and he lunged at us. I could not see what the others did, but I used my leaf blades and jumped up to try to get to his face. I slashed at him but one of his giant claws smashed me into the ground. I noticed that his paw only had two claws, when it was supposed to have four.

"UMBREON!" I called.

"YEAH?" She responded, she was lifting some of the rocks and throwing them at Dialga. We seemed to be a nuisance to him, nothing more. Like four particularly annoying bugs. If we kept fighting this way, it would only be a matter of time before he squished us.

"Dusknoir had one of Dialga's claws at one point, what happened to it?!" I had to dodge out of the way of huge boulders that Dialga sent flying at me. Orbs of light steadily streamed out of each of us.

"I have..." she jumped to dodge "no idea! Dusknoir?!"

"I guess the Sableye might have taken it, why?!" He sent shadow balls at Dialga.

"I just thought his own claws would be a good weapon against him. We'll just have to go with THIS!" I used absorb. More life force came pouring out of Dialga, but I wasn't done there. I kept doing it, over and over. This was the only way to take a giant like him down. I kept absorbing his life force and everyone kept attacking and eventually...we got him to collapse on one leg...

He roared one last time, and then collapsed all together.

And so did we.

"My body...is so heavy." I looked over, Celebi was on one side of me, and Dusknoir on the other side. Both of them had stopped floating.

"But...We did it..." Umbreon said.

It was true...everything was so heavy. It felt as though I was being weighed down with rocks. None of us could hold ourselves up any longer.

"We finally defeated Primal Dialga..." I said. "Morning is near...now...we can only wait. Here...for the end to come." I was strangely...at peace with it.

Dialga was the first to go, probably because I took so much life force out of him already. The spheres of light became more numerous, they enveloped him, and he was gone without a trace. Is that how we would go? It...was so beautiful.

"He's gone..." Dusknoir said, then he too, collapsed completely. The spheres of light became more frequent. He only had another minute or so. "Grovyle...before I go...please tell me. My...my life. Did it shine?"

"Yes. Extraordinarily. You will...live on."

Dusknoir smiled, and exhaled, releasing a lifetime's worth of tension.

"Thank you, Grovyle...I lived, thanks to you...if only for a moment...Truly, thank you..."

And he disappeared as well.

"Grovyle...your cause...you have achieved it...Your most noble cause...thank you for letting me be a part of it..."

And Umbreon was gone.

Celebi and I were the only two left, and life force poured out of both of us.

"Celebi, can you still hear me?" I asked.

"Yes...Grovyle." It seemed like it was hard for her to speak.

"The sun...it's rising...I want you to see it." I crawled over to her, ever so slowly. My body was trying to pin me in place. No...I would see the Sun before I died. I had come too far not to see this. I sat up and placed Celebi in my lap. Celebi seemed so fragile. Her antennae drooped, and her eyes were nearly closed. "Are you alright, Celebi?"

"Yes...I'm alright." she mumbled.

The Sun peeked up over the horizon! The Sun! The ice shone a brilliant blue, the sky turned orange and pink and yellow.

"Celebi, look...it's morning..." I smiled.

"Morning...I've never seen it. It's...so beautiful. I'm...so grateful...I got to meet you, and see something like this..." I felt something wet on my claw. Tears? Celebi was crying.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I...I don't want to die! I want to stay here with you!" she cried. I smiled sadly.

"I would love that too."

"I...don't..."

"Would you like me to tell you a story? Kitten told me it once..."

"...Ok..." her voice was nothing but a whisper. She was fading.

"Once...in a different time, in a completely different part of the world, there was an Absol and a Gardevoir. They were partners, kind of like how we were...and the world...was barraged by natural disasters. They formed a team to help Pokemon affected by the natural disas..."

My hand fell through where Celebi's head had been...she was gone.

I was alone...

I looked up at the sky...it was bright now...and so was the ice. Colors. The future was full of color...full of light.

"Kitten...can you see this? This is what we've been fighting for...look."

Light started to cloud my vision. It was my turn now...my turn to finally fade away.

"We will live on as stories, Kitten. Just like Absol and Gardevoir...we will live on as Eric's stories..."

The spheres of light became more frequent.

"To the Pokemon of the world, I give to you...the future."

I got one last look at the sunrise...a picture that would last me an eternity...and then the light enveloped me.

And in that moment, I was no longer in pain, I was no longer suffering. And it did not matter how many horrible things we had to go through to get to this moment. Because we did it Kitten! We did it!

"And I have no...regrets..."

The Pokemon of the future disappeared from history, and it was as if the Planet's Paralysis had never existed. Upon Kitten's request, Eric told her story. He was depressed for a long time, due to the loss of his partner. But, with the help of Wigglytuff's guild members, he was able to come to peace with what happened and move on to become a famous explorer, who made many historic discoveries.

One day, Eric remembered something Grovyle had told him once. Grovyle had said he should visit the Human Village. He did, and together with the village government and the Pokemon world government, he was able to work out an agreement. Humans would be allowed to prosper, and live alongside Pokemon, instead of hiding in small pockets. They would be given the tools to shed the title of endangered species. Nobody remembered why they were supposed to hate Humans, anyways.

Eric died many, many decades later. He passed in comfort and peace. He was a legend. Both Humans and Pokemon came to the funeral of the one who had brought them together. Eric's stories of Kitten died with him. By the time Grovyle would have been born, everyone had forgotten the story.

There is a rumor, though, that if you go to the beach, an incredibly old Pokemon will come to the shore and tell a story to all who would listen. One girl followed that rumor all the way to Treasure Town. A girl by the name of Naomi, although her friend and mentor Flygon had given her a different name, Kitten. Kitten had been born into the future, but she had no memory of her other life. Because of the change in time, and her different experiences, she was essentially a different person...but she was alive!

She landed on the beach just in time to run into the old Pokemon. It was Lapras. And if you listen to her, she will tell you a story. A story about two heroes who traveled from this time period to the distant past in order to save the world. She knows what happened. She was there.

"Once upon a time...there was a Human and a Grovyle."

I...don't really know what to except...the end.

This is the first multichapter story I've written to its conclusion...ever. So...thanks for sticking around this long and congratulations on reading a 32 chapter fic.

The next one is Code Revenge...I will now be writing Code Revenge to its conclusion, but first...some rest. -passes out-
