"The truth?"

Ch9 – behind the static (part 1)

It was a dormant volcano. Sure, it would blow its fuse time to time, but never had there been an explosion of molten red. It seeped in a cracked fantasy, leaking sorrow and hatred as time passed. Holes it would be, holes, like sponge. There would be so many wounds, but never was there a time that the sponge would be unable to hold on to the liquid. It never broke unless provoked. Never spilled unless pressured. That was Loki. He was a sponge. How tightly the god tried to keep himself intact, to never show weakness or thought to others. That was his sanity, and he kept it close. No matter the bruises, no matter the scars and the pain he was inflicted on, just like a sponge, he still held it all in. But today wasn't the day.

Loki bolted up, his mouth wide and eyes blank green, his heart fast in ten folds. Thor's name died upon the god's lips as he sat up, staring straight ahead to an unexpected.

It was him

The entity stood in the middle of the room, the dark suit seeming blacker than the pitch darkness of the room itself. The blank placid face rocked and trembled, as if laughing. Its hands were clasped behind its back.

Loki gasped, backing away and shoving himself at the frames of the bed, trying to sink into the wooden substance. He screamed, wrapping his hands around his head, his brain about to explode.

"Why are you here Why are you here Why are you here Why are you here Why are you here"

His voice came out shrill, begging the monster to disappear. He couldn't handle it, not now, not after… not after…

Loki's eyes shot open. Slowly, the god looked up at the entity, dismissing the pounding he felt against his temples.

Something broke inside the god as he heard this. It cracked, and it sent the god into a spiral of sorrow and rage. The sponge had too many holes, and this time it absolutely broke. Loki gave a howl as he thrashed his arm, knocking the lamp off, leaving it to flicker in its broken state. The malevolent entity stood aside as Loki lunged across the room, screaming in broken heart. He tore through the curtains, growling as the empty feeling rose within him. He made his way to the large book case, shrieking as he pulled it down. His eyes darted about and caught his reflection, staring right back him with large eyes and ransacked hair. He slowly approached, his fingertips touching the cool surface. His reflection mimicked his movements, and then grinned. Loki frowned.

"Thor's dead"

Loki growled. The reflection laughed. Loki brought his arm out and swung forward, the mirror now reflecting a broken image of the god, laughing and laughing.

"You killed him"

"NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! I did not… I did not… I…"

Loki's eyes widened as he moved about the room, the entity watching him, lights constantly flickering on and off.

"The key… We need the key… The key can save us… Another key…"

He was mad

Gone out of his head

His state of madness was irrevocable, Loki himself knew quite clear.

Loki wildly opened the drawers, eyes manic as he searched for the small item. He gave a frustrated cry, finding nothing.

I cOuLd hElP

Loki turned around, eyeing the tall entity. It seemed to smile, enjoying every moment of what happened.

wOuLd yOu lIke tO gEt OuT?

Loki said nothing as he silently watched the being, his head pounding like mad. The being slowly brought his long arm out, reaching for the god. Loki did nothing as it touched him, an unexpected memory rising up.

wHeRe'S tHaT LEatHeR tWiNe nOw?

A sudden anger and dread rushed upon the god as the entity withdraw its arm. Loki sat at the bed and felt absolute nothing. He felt empty. Than the memory of the needle, the leather twine upon his skin struck him like a storm, and like instinct, he found himself reaching for his foot. He didn't want the string on him he didn't want it to trap him. He hated it against his flesh, the disgusting shameful memory, and started at the stitching at his foot, tearing it off. There was no pain, no screaming, and no fear. Nothing. The entity watched in amusement as the loud noise of teeth meeting flesh echoed through the air. Loki looked, up his eyes wild and rabid, slowly putting the black stitching thread into his mouth. The slender figure seemed satisfied, the white face giving nothing away. It moved towards the door and reaching for the handle opened the door. The slender figure seemed to laugh as Loki stood, the pale bloody face blank and empty, walking towards the door, disappearing to the other side, the entity following close behind, the door coming to a shut.

They reappeared from the kitchen, the tall being opening the door and shutting it close. It watched as the god stepped in and looked around in confusion.

wHeRe'S yOuR kEy?

The god's emerald eyes widened hands tight against his sides. He raced towards cupboards and drawers, flinging them open, shifting through their contents wildly, desperation clinging to his nerves. Packages and cans fell down, pots loud and demanding of sound as they clattered. The being watched, in fascination of the god's determination for finding the one small insignificant key. How amazing it was. How inspiring it was. How amusing it was. How pathetic it was.

It made the entity laugh

Blood splattered everywhere as Loki moved, rapidly rushing out of its re-opened wound. Loki growled in pain, stopping to examine his source of pain. His eyes seemed to clear as he watched in fixation of the crimson pool he stood on. He seemed confused, not quite grasping what was going on, why he was bleeding. The god stepped back; growling once more as static filled his ears, eyes darting away from the tall entity approaching.

"This… This is not a dream… Thor is alive… it's not real… Why am I doing this…?"

The entity moved closer, the blank face seeming to frown in disapproval.

"He's not my brother!"

Loki gave a silent scream, choking in his own saliva as a screech filled his ears. It was loud, like a child laughing at his anguish. He squeezed his eyes tightly shut, stumbling onto the cold white floor stained with blood.

The eyes clouded once more as the god mindlessly stood, his bloody hands clawing at the wooden surfaces, throwing contents out of drawers. Finally, the god stopped, his breathe coming short to what he found at the bottom of the last drawer.

It was a key

He gave startled cries, slowly turning into tears of joy as he scooped it up into his hands. He brought it close to his chest; his breathe ragged and loud, body trembling in an effort to stay standing. Euphoria. They never lasted long.

Footsteps thundered outside of the kitchen. The entity turned to look at the bloody god. His work was done for now. He disappeared as the door opened.

Imagine you're falling

Better yet

Imagine you're sinking

Sinking in the depths, the darkest part of the world pulling you over, malevolent eyes devouring every inch of your skin. Deprived of all necessities, what light could possibly save you? What love could ever possibly warm you up?

When it all seems to break apart

The end of the movie, the click to the credits, what being would stay behind to read it all?

Who would bother?

What benefit will they gain?

Nothing.

It was like waking up from a nightmare

Only to enter another

Desperation wasn't something Loki commonly felt, but it seemed to occur frequently. However, the numb sensation that touched him was what comforted him. He was more than happy to not move, to relax his nerves, to think quietly and get his thoughts in order, and in darkness it was all the better. What made him stop and frown in his mind was the fact that he could not quite find the thoughts or memories to sift through. In the patches of his mind was nothing. Blank. Pitch black abyss hang loose in his memories, skipping him from lying in his bedroom after a nightmare, to waking up from what seemed like a hospital or a medical bay of the tower. He lay quietly in the metal framed bed, his finger twirling the thin tubes connected to his arm. What could have possibly happened? Did the avengers try to kill him? If so, why would they heal him again? Were they torturing him? Slowly, he propped himself up, sighing as he slightly adjusted himself to another comfortable position. Catching the moon rays from the window, he eyed a distant calendar in the far right.

He frowned. Had it already been six days since he had been with the avengers? But it felt more of two or three days. Loki's memory was crystal clear until the day where he consumed the mortal beverage. After that, things were of a blur. He remembered walking, lots of walking and lots of yelling, but other than that, nothing. Nothing registered to be abnormal or anomalous in his mind. It seemed to him that he was suffering 'amnesia' of some sorts, but unless without magic, Loki could not figure out exactly how it came about. As horrible and terrifying it sounded in theory, the god found himself sub-consciously feeling quite happy with it. Something deep inside him told him that it was a good thing that he had lost his memories of the past days. Something told him that he was lucky, that he should be thankful. Loki thought either wise. What could have possibly happened? Had the avengers erased his memories? He was sure that they had no such device to achieve such feat. Loki sighed, rubbing his temples. What happened? The god blankly stared at the empty dark room lit by the moon. He watched as the light disappeared for a moment when the dark clouds moved over the bright moon. He watched, peacefully as the moon reappeared to once again light the room, to reveal an unfamiliar face.

Loki was sure his heart stopped.

As the clouds slowly moved by, the pale light shown dully on the empty white face, the muscles inside pulsing, slithering under the thin layer of skin like snakes. It's black suit seemed morphed to the dark shadows of the room, making the face appear hovering almost. If it had not been for the blood red tie, Loki was so sure he was just dreaming. It took all his strength to keep his scream in place, quietly biting at his lips as the entity stood still. It felt like an eternity of a dull thumping in his head that the god could not help but cough, his chest tightening as the seconds passed. The tall entity turned, as if it had not noticed the god before. Loki gripped at his head, eyeing the entity at the corner of his eye in the distance.

"You… Who…?"

The memories rushed in. The nightmares, the visions, the blood red skies and the dark bleeding shadows,

The blank white face

Loki bared his teeth, scrunching his eyes as he felt his ear drums pop. He looked up once more to see the entity at the end of his bed, the shadows behind his shifting, sifting through the air. The god could feel his heart crush at the sight. He gripped at his shirt to his heart, panting, his black hair shooting out in all directions, wild amid the situation.

"What… what do you… want from me…?"

Loki felt something warm fall from his nose. He reached up to see the crimson fluid fall from his nose, as the entity continued to scratch in his mind.

"Lasted long? From what? From your torments? How dare… how dare you try to control me…! It will not happen again, monster, you will never again catch me off guard!" Loki wheezed.

Loki cringed. Suddenly, he didn't feel like himself anymore. He felt like the pathetic little kid he was eons ago. He wiped his bleeding nose with his sleeve, letting his tears stream down.

"It's not my fault… Not my fault I'm so different. I just want… to be accepted." His voice came out quiet and small. His mind drifted back into his memories where the avengers were with him, how they laughed with him, how they made his heart warm up.

Well hellooooo there!

as you can see, this is part 1! This chapter was supposed to be much longer, but sadly i could not continue the 'other half'and had to cut it off here in order for the story and plot to flow among each other.

Now I would like to warn that this half of the story was written when i was still well interested in this franchise and had much of an inspiration and knowledge. now i have become much more stupid and idiotic in the brain from the lack of reading and writing, ( and I have been recently infatuated on BL2) so you must understand and forgive me for the terrible oncoming chapters that wait ahead of you.

I salute those who have been waiting long for this chapter and I praise you for your interest and patience. I hope to not further disappoint you.

it may be a while till the next chapter, but until then, toodle doo!

lol - lots of love
