~Words of Wisdom~

"Hey Roxas… what're you doing in here?" Axel walked into the room yawning. "We have to get up at five o'clock in the morning. I really suggest you get some sleep."

"I know… I'm just thinking."

"About what?"

"Nothing important…" I sighed.

"Well it has to be somewhat important if it keeps you up at night." Axel sat down next to me and looked at me in a concerned way.

"Really… it's nothing…" I pathetically tried to convince him but he looked at me like he wasn't going to let up. I sigh then give him brief details about what is happening.

"That does seem like a really sticky situation… hmmm…" He thought for a moment.

"Yeah," I said, probably interrupting his thoughts, "life sucks… a lot. Sometimes, I just hate it..."

"Well you know what I always say: when life gives you lemons, make grape juice. Then sit back and let the world wonder how the hell you did it!"

"W-what…?" I stare at him for a while, wondering if he's actually serious.

Axel sighed, "What I'm trying to say is: you can't always do what people expect you to do. I don't know the exact the details of what you're going through, but whatever it is; you gotta turn things into your favor. Instead of making your lemons lemonade, turn it into something completely out of the ordinary that works for you. You, Roxas. Because at the end of the day; it's only you who truly matters. Whether you make grape juice, or orange juice, or apple juice; in the end, you'll find out that whichever way you chose, was the right path for you."

"...I... have no idea what any of that meant."

Axel chuckled then stood up, "Just think about it for a while. You'll get it eventually. Got it memorized?" He leaned towards me and tapped the side of his head.

"Sure…" I said, although I was feeling the complete opposite.

"Good! …Welp, I'm goin' back to bed." Axel yawned then headed towards the room. "Goodnight."

"Night, Axel."

I sat in the silence of my own heartbeat, and then pondered on Axel's 'words of wisdom' for a while.

Grape juice, huh? I think. ...I still don't get it… whatever.

I sigh then decide to go to bed inside of the living room on the couch that night, thoughts swirling through my head.

What am I gonna do about this?

This is something I wrote about a year ago. Haven't done anything with it, so... here it is.
