Welcome to Primavera.

Steve/Tony, angst content, no spoilers.

Have fun!

Primavera.

Steve Rogers was there, where everything started – a small, suffocating room at the Brooklyn, looking at the stars and surrounded by the noise.

Not quite in the present time, but no more completely bond to the old days - thanks to Tony Stark - he felt out of place when he tried to speak out loud what was closed in his chest.

He sat down. And he waited.

One day, months ago, he met an arrogant billionaire in a big suit of iron who offered him some help to get into that new world.

They fought crime together, they laughed together and when Steve told him he wanted to stay in the neighborhood he grew up, Tony even found a room for him in the heart of Brooklyn.

Life wasn't that bad even in a world so full of noise, after all.

One day, at his place, it was autumn and they kissed for the first time. "It doesn't mean anything, Cap. Open your mouth. "

Meaning anything he let the other touch him for the first time after the war, so long ago. Meaning anything they had sex many times enjoying it just for instinct, until, without noticing, Steve started making love.

He felt idiotic and weak. It was supposed to have no bonds.

At that time Tony didn't call him Captain, anymore. He always considered after an orgasm if Stark knew about something and was doing that on purpose. It was almost the end of winter.

When Steve heard the sound of the unlocking door that night, the world didn't have any other noise.

Tony entered the room with his charming smile and shiny Italian shoes, taking off his blazer. Steve knew that scene very well.

When Stark tried to kiss him, his face was turned down. When he tried again, Cap just couldn't help.

"What's wrong, Steve?"

"I'm sorry."

Silence. An attempt of hugging.

"Don't." he moved apart, looking the puzzled eyes. That cold tune not even sounded like his own voice, after all.

"I fell in love with you, Tony."

"Oh." Stark rolled softly his eyes. His face was just a mug of sarcastic disappointment. "That's a problem, Captain."

Steve knew it. It was like being infected with a deadly contagious disease.

Their greatest taboo was broken.

"Call me again when you're done with these feelings. You know where to find me."

"I won't."

The sound of the closing door was a unison with his heart breaking.

In the middle of spring he just wanted to be frozen. This time forever.

Notes: I have to thank three boring classes and a random femslash text that was hiding in a dark corner of the internet for this. Primavera means spring in portuguese.

Reviews fix Steve's heart.
