Summary: Running alone is fine. Running in a pack is even better. One-shot

A/N: My first Wolf's Rain story! More like a drabble, and the idea is from this awesome Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Story, Fight Alongside Me by loveanimes1996. Enjoy!

Kiba has always been a lone wolf, no doubt about it. He's free when he's alone, long legs loping gracefully across the barren plains. When he runs alone, he doesn't have to worry about anyone else, just himself. He can sharpen his senses this way; he becomes stronger and more aware. With the howling wind rushing past his ears, he feels like he can fly, like he's the strongest. He has one goal: Paradise. And he always though he would get there alone.

But then he met the others, the other ones like him. Tsume. Hige. Toboe. Then Blue. Soon, they were running together. Kiba always thought that running in a pack would hinder him, weaken him. He always thought that he wouldn't be able to get to Paradise with other wolves on his heels. He didn't know how wrong he was.

When he runs in a pack-with the others-he's still free. In fact, he feels even freer. But he also realizes he doesn't have to worry about the others; they are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. When he runs with them, he feels safer; they watch his back. When he runs with them, he feels like he can take on anything his ravished world throws at him; nobles, storms, hunters, whatever. When he runs with them, he feels stronger, because he has to fight to protect his pack, no matter what.

Kiba has always thought that running in a pack showed weakness, because in his world, only the strongest can survive. But when the others joined, he knew he was wrong. Kiba has always thought that he would get to Paradise alone. But the way things are going now, it doesn't seem like it.

A/N: I don't really like this…but then again, it's my first Wolf's Rain story and I haven't looked through many WR stories yet. Hope you liked it, leave a review? ConCrit would be REALLY nice, as I have no idea how to write WR.
